The Article I read on NFL.com wasn't Aaron Wilson and he wasn't even quoted in it.. It was written by Kevin Patra...
The reason I say poorly written is because the article is titled " Eugene Monroe, Baltimore Ravens far apart in talks", then upon reading the article it makes no mention of any type of contract talks, it mentions that Monroe may be considered a top free agent candidate, that Pitta was signed to a new deal, and how several other teams need a tackle... Before mentioning as a side-note that unnamed sources say talks are far apart....
The title of article is an eye-catcher, but the article is not written about that topic, if the title had said " Top destinations for Monroe outside of Baltimore, or Ravens must sign Monroe long term before he hits open market.." then the meat of the article would have substance....
I see these type of articles all the time in my ESPN insider, for NBA "trade rumors" too many reporters hide behind "unnamed sources, sources close to the situation" very few guys actually have the facts right when the everything comes to light....

But seriously. And most of the nfl.com writers are straight up garbage.

yes, it does, i won't challenge the 3.5 bid
Need a bid from you on Velasco, please
Berad do you take the bids as well?
I am, they're coming in
Want to bid on OT Collins
Gimme a PM
Roberto Garza is between nflfan123 and bmorebird22, at 3.5 is out of my reach
You put a 3 star bid on him, BmoreBird22 put 3.5. NFLfan put an invalid bid of 3 after that. If you don't want to bid, doesn't that give it to BmoreBird22 at 3.5?
Raiders

His bid is invalid because of edit
So it's still
Raiders
Roberto Garza
0.5 stars
So you only have to bid 1 star to outbid me
BmoreBird22 edits his posts because of some strange software glitch that causes lines and lines of random characters to appear before his actual post - bid stands. Mr. Nobody is winning Garza at 1.5 stars.
Apparently there is no grievance process anymore. Under the new CBA, players are simply franchised, but don't have a position tied to them. Arbitrators decide which position fits the player the best. I'm sure they can lay claim if the player doesn't like their designation. It sounds like when sending paperwork in, the Ravens wouldn't designate Pitta as "TE Dennis Pitta" or "WR Dennis Pitta." He just gets tagged as "Dennis Pitta" and then it's out of ours and his hands.
Since the new CBA, the two TE's that have been franchised were Marcedes Lewis and Fred Davis. I don't think either had an actual claim to be tagged as a WR instead of a TE since they played the traditional role more often than the slot. The whole TE/slot WR tag seems to be a new thing that needs to be sorted out.
My question was more about how the slot - a generally multipurpose utility where WRs, TEs, even RBs/FBs line up - became solely WR territory/pay.
Suggs' distinction was pretty clear - was his hand on the ground or not? Graham/Pitta don't have that clear definition. Playing in the slot does not make you a WR any more than the shotgun makes a QB a RB.
The CBA views it as such. The tweet was one in a series talking about Jimmy Graham's situation, who lines up in the slot a similar percentage in comparison to Pitta. It was basically stated that Graham will definitely get the WR tag, and based off of that, one would assume Pitta likely would as well.
Does it really, though? To my knowledge, Graham - or Pitta - would be the first TE to file a greviance for that. But when did the slot become solely WR territory?
So, based on this tweet, Pitta would get the WR tag. This basically means that we have to get a long term deal done with him, because I don't see us tagging him at the WR amount.
Franchise letter leaves it to CBA, which says calculations are for “position at which Player participated in the most plays” in past year
When was the slot a solely WR position?
