  1. Would be a shame if Belichick used an Imperius Curse on Panthers GM Gettleman to make him sit out the draft, allowing life-sustaining prospects to fall to the Belichick. Would also be a shame if Belichick commanded Gettleman's last act to be to trade him #KONY2014 for a sandwich.

Would be a shame is all...

So making the playoffs and losing the first game is somehow worse than not making the playoffs at all?

The Patriots ran through the AFCNorth. I don't know what I am failing to admit? That they would not do as well in our division when the results say they certainly would? 5-0 against the AFCNorth last year. 5-1 in their division. What's better? 2013: 3-1 vs. AFCNorth. 4-2 in division. 2011: 3-1 to 5-1. The results show that they fare better against the teams in our division than their own. That isn't conjecture. That's cold hard facts.

Some of you have such extreme purple colored shades on that it's impossible to get across a point.

Generous to call the Dolphins-Steelers a 'game', they got the doors blown off at the coin toss lol

But point does stand, they did what they needed to get into the playoffs, the Ravens did not. Still think we were a better team, though, for whatever that matters.

Flacco didn't play any better those last 7 weeks, he has done what he normally  does. Every year snitch  the day we drafted him. He'll have between 1-3 games a season where he looks like a top 5 quarterback in the league and turn around the next week and stink up the place. Those last 7 games he played two of his best games all season. Against Cleveland (3 td's 2 int) who owns the top pick in the draft and only won a game last season. The other was Miami where he threw for 4 TD's and 1 int. Flacco threw 20 td's to 15 INT's last year. He almost average 1 int a game. Most of his picks are just bad throws and not a guy just making a play on the ball. Only consistency he has showed was he'll throw 10 plus picks a year. Hate me for telling the truth and here are some numbers for you....

    Joe Flacco stats

    Career stats

Okay so that goes back to my original points:

Does he need to play better? Yes. Everyone and their mom has come to that conclusion.

Will he be on the team for the foreseeable future? Yes. The team still has a lot of confidence in him and his contract is structured in such a way that it makes it harmful to cut him, anyways.

Beyond those two points, what is there to talk about? 100+ pages worth? At least we don't see the phrases 'deer in the headlights', 'can't/won't win the big game', etc anymore.

If he played like he normally does, as you say, what are we to do?

For me, the issue now is it is, "Joe needs to play better, but... (insert 10 excuses here)." For me, there is no but. He isn't playing well and his play last year hindered the team.

I know he's capable of better, so let's not make excuses.

    Ah, so that's the rub.

I won't excuse it, he missed some throws he should make. He made some sloppy interceptions, too. Those hurt us, especially early in the season where we lost some winnable games.

However, he did play markedly better down the stretch. From Week 9 (Thursday vs Cleveland) to the penultimate Pittsburgh game, through those 7 weeks, he put up 14 TDs to 7 INTs, 280+ yds/game, a 94.7 passer rating, and his 6.9 yards/attempt was at his career average. Through those 7 weeks, we also won 4,  losing to Dallas, New England, and Pittsburgh. That's respectable but the teams' and his floundering in the middle of the season kept us from the playoffs.

  6. Seeing the selection of Ford, Bill Belichicks salt levels rise to unhealthy levels. The additional sodium dries up his slimy outer membrane, crippling him and reducing him to a heap on the floor. Robert Kraft finds him shriveled up on the floor. Panicking, Kraft douses him in the closest thing at hand - the Burnett's Pink Lemonade Vodka / Cranberry juice mixed drink his 50+ years younger 'girlfriend' made for him.

Rising from the sickening puddle, Belichick mutters an thank you before skulking back into the shadows.

  7. With the 32nd pick in the 2nd round... Bill Belichick slithers up to the draft's stage, a trail of ooze and mucus in his wake. As he approaches the podium to announce his pick, the audience is taken aback with horror and disgust. Behind the podium, most of this disturbing sight is hidden, however various small tentacles appear and disappear as he gathers enough breath to mumble into the microphone. He smirks and thinks to himself, 'How smart am I? The self-proclaimed best player in the draft falling to me in the last pick of the second round? ha.ha.ha...' He breaks a smile, an unnerving combination of gnarled teeth and pained grimace, parents guard their children's faces and women shriek in despair. It does not bother the Belichick. Through his cracked facade, he mutters...

    Jalen 'Teez' Tabor, CB

The lights flicker - then go out. When the flash on a second later, the Belichick has vanished. The only trace on him is a trail of slime and a wallet-sized picture of Tom Brady... This came to me in a dream.

One month makes him a young whippersnapper?   lol

So did the boards open in April of 2007?

Sometime around there, I know I had seen the announcement and was waiting for the sign up but was actually late by a couple of days - chalk that up to spring break

  9. Ravens confirmed this on their twitter

They seem to have broken the news and all of the other sources re-posted it

Edit - And I could've sworn he played for the Chargers but PFR and Wikipedia say it was only the Chiefs and the Cowboys... who am I thinking of??

Low risk contract that's easy to get out of (options to exit after Year 1 and Year 2 per Schefter)

Starting, albeit unspectacular, CB on a playoff team

Never missed a game in 9 year career.

    ...... I honestly don't have a single complaint

And started all of those games.

It's not Sherman or Revis in their prime but he's an average/solid starter.
