We didn't lose the game because of Perriman. He dropped those passes but he's not alone in blundering. Trestman lost his job because of the game.

So fire Ozzie? I just laid out a quote from him that says we're riding with Joe for at least the next six seasons.
Fire Harbaugh? He's said similar things about Joe.
No, 'unfortunately', as long as the FO is in place and Bisciotti owns the team, I think Joe Flacco is safe. Shouldn't really have to defend a championship QB... you'd think he was Jay Cutler, Matt Ryan, Matt Stafford, or some scrub...
It was inexcusable to move away from the run after such great production from it in a one-score game.
1 hour ago, kassaiscool said:There is a reason this organization wanted Matt Ryan instead of Joe. On draft day the Ravens were trying to move up and get him. If you actually look throughout Joes career hes been a pretty average Qb. Especially during the regular season. The highlight of his career is that he got hot during the playoffs and won a super bowl, coincidentally his contract year and cashed in. He hasn't even passed for 4,000 which is pathetic considering the contract he got.
They moved up and got Arthur Brown, too.
That was 8 years ago... what has happened since then? The playoff run, record-setting statistics, and Super Bowl MVP would be the highlight of anyone's career. The Ravens (and Flacco) are very plainly not about statistical achievements and Joe sat during games/seasons where he could have put up some garbage time yards and hit those benchmarks.
His most recent extension makes it very clear what the organization thinks of him and assures he'll be here a long time - health assumed. Really, do you think Ozzie and company are second-guessing picking Joe Flacco? I'll leave you with this quote.
Quote“On his shoulders stands the success of this organization over the last eight years,” General Manager Ozzie Newsome said after Flacco signed his new contract in March. “There’s not many opportunities that you can draft a quarterback and for him to have the success that he, along with John [Harbaugh], have had over the first eight years of their careers. In spending time with numerous GMs over the last week over at the combine, they all dread the day when they don’t have a quarterback, and what you do to have to go and get one. We’re fortunate to have one. In my mind, having Joe for the next six years, I think his best football is still ahead of him.”
This game was a frustrating let down. Our OL got beat by a plainly bad Redskins pass rush and we stopped running the ball for some strange reason.

He's top 10 in yards and top 5 in receptions. Project those 21 receptions and 200 yards out to a 16-game season, he's 9th in yards and 3rd in catches compared to 2015's TEs.
That's something we need and lucky Pitta is producing that way after Watson went down.

True, he was activated for a reason. Either someone was trying to poach him off the PS and/or he has a spot on gameday.
Just now, redlobster said:and a position of perceived strength is now nothing but average.
I still think it's a strength. Pitta is having a really good year, Gilmore is a solid receiver and of course a monster blocking TE. Maxx had done great things on ST and blocking but hadn't produced (or really been targeted) as a receiver. It's a blow but that position still is deep.
We all saw Waller's solid pre-season and he can contribute on ST, too. I think he'll be activated.
Stinks, but it sounded like it needs surgery to fully heal.
Makes room for Waller, I guess
Pass protection has been really bad this year and Flacco has made the OL look better (statistically) by turfing some balls and making some great plays on the run and/or under duress.
He could save his passer rating and duck for a sack but he'd be doing that 8-9 times a game at minimum.
They need to keep an anemic Redskins pass rush from dominating them. All the Washington stations have been talking about how they need to get their pass rush going and how the Redskins DL is a weak point.

His confidence can be shaken. The opposite is also true however. if he gets in rhythm early it could be a long day.
Absolutely right. Their offense is productive, we need to curtail it early.

We could be, but they're having troubles on the interior. Uncertainty with their LG and C. So our interior - Williams, Pierce, Jernigan - might be able to exploit it. Plus, Dumervil now has a game under his belt. Uncertainties for sure, but our defense seems to live and die by the pass rush.

Good old AW, miss him
I'm glad the changes Pees made to the defense - coming down from the booth, simplifying, and more variable schemes - have shown results but we're not the 2006 (or even 2011) Ravens just yet. That red zone stat is troubling, especially, because it's what we could hang our hat on in the past.
The additions of Frazier and Weddle were obviously helped a lot, can't say this enough. The corners are so inconsistent, though, it's troubling. We gave up a game-winning drive in what felt like 4 plays.
Sucks to see him go, he was money for us and obviously a great guy. That 2014 season goes a lot differently without our Pro Bowl RB making plays late in games.
Jimmy got toasted against Cooper last year and that basically set the tone for the whole game
Congratulations!
Jalen Ramsey is perfecting the L
50 minutes ago, Kid87 said:Lol are we not wearing White jerseys this year.. 1 home game: Purple, 2 away Games: Purple ...maybe we're superstitious
Home teams usually like the opponents to wear their dark jerseys during the warmer months. The thinking is that it will be hotter and they'll tire out.
Jalen Ramsey is taking a big L these past couple days for both the content and delivery of his post-game comments LOL
The thing I like most about Jernigan is his explosiveness coupled with the fact that he seems to relish putting a whooping on QBs.
In the past, he's been on the border, gotten a few personal fouls and whatnot but this year it's just clean, brutal hits. He just seems to time the shot just right and know how to put his power and weight into it. Josh McCown knew who he was and knew to be afraid of #99. Can't wait to see him continue that.
A lot of things were wrong with Rice in 2013, his 'injury' was a topic all season even though it was pretty minor and it happened in Week 2. He looked heavy and slow, he spent too much time doing bicep curls and bulked up for some reason.
This years running game has a few different issues. The OL is not getting a good push, whether that is because of talent or scheme someone else will have to inform me - it sounds like both. Forsett is looking really bad, West looks more explosive and powerful. And Juice is not being used as much or in the same role.
1 hour ago, January J said:Alright I've got a stable full of options for my flex play this Sunday. Could use some advice here BC I'm stuck!
1) Theo Riddick- ( vs GB) ameer abdullah just went down so he will be getting the bulk of carries and also is good at catching passes in the backfield. Has had two solid games so far even with abdullah active. Not sure about green bays run defense.
2)Quincy Enunwa- (vs KC) has gotten a lot of targets in the first two games and has taken advantage of every opportunity. Has had 2 very solid games and Brandon marshall Is nursing a leg injury although he will probably be active - but Enunwa will still get his regardless. KCs secondary is nothing to sneeze at though.
3) Victor Cruz - ( vs. Wash) - coming off two strong games and I think OBJ will warrant a lot of Normans attention- so Cruz could fly under the radar and rack up some big plays.
4) Phillip Dorsett -(vs SD) Moncreif will be out for the next few week and dorsett will step into the number 2 role. His speed and big play ability are intriguing paired with Andrew luck- and San diegos secondary isnt anything special.
So I'm leaning towards riddick- but obviously I have some options to consider. I also have Gurly as my RB2 who has layed 2 eggs so far and has looked awful. I could replace him with riddick and use another one of these guys as my flex too but I just can't bring myself to take gurly out- eventually he's gonna break out the slump and knowing my luck it will be soon as I sit him- so I'm keeping him in. Anybody got any feedback or advice? 2-0 so far lookin to stay undefeated!
I'm leaning Cruz, the Redskins secondary has looked like garbage and he's put up decent fantasy stats

I used to actually LEARN things there - around 8-10 years ago. Now, it's basically a bunch of entertainment reporters struggling to string together a football story.
