  1. Excellent point, agreed. I don't believe that at all. Mike Preston is just doing what he does and some media outlets take it and run.
  2. Awesome news. Get this thing official and let's go!
  3. I agree but they've been used in any context to take 1000 different meanings out of it. Preston is good at what he does and I like and appreciate that he offers different opinions instead of being ho-hum and boring but sometimes he gets carried away and inserts a narrative that will get people talking rather than what is going on. Aaron Wilson is someone who gives more insight than Preston and does it without a slant. edit - we should all remember that Preston is a columnist, not a reporter
  4. The quotes are not from the presser, they were afterwards when Preston talked to Bisciotti in his office.
  5. "'How to make something out of nothing', a Mike Preston Story" Funny how the coach only lands the negative stuff even though this fits his profile. He has always wanted the best assistant coaches and coordinators he can get his hands on.
  6. This is excellent news! Kubiak would have been the choice all along but when the news went dead so did my hopes edit - still don't like Shanahan but if they come as a package deal, so be it
  7. Nice to hear, considering those were our two biggest failings in 2013. His offenses' statistics during his time in Denver/Houston hold their own, as well. Although I know he wasn't expressly calling the plays all the time.
  8. I never liked Shanahan or Hostler as options - was kind of resigned to the notion that the younger Shanahan would be here, unfortunately. But Dennison's name in the ring is very intriguing. Granted, I do not know much about him but the little bit of searching I've done has looked pretty good.
  9. Ecological fallacy to think because Seattle's offense is not that good means their coaches are unqualified or untalented. The Manning comment is way overzealous but I'm not going there. BUT I wasn't arguing for any of those people. You asked why they would leave and the answer is almost always the almighty dollar. I agree it will in all likelihood be Shanahan or Hostler.
  10. Well they hypothetically would leave for a promotion and higher pay. The waiting for this process is boring
  11. Dick LeBeau as well. Ray Horton, Bill Belichick, Mike McCoy, and probably a lot more have exclusively NFL coaching resumes - meaning that NFL coordinator jobs were their first shot at it.
  12. Please don't compare Shanahan to McDaniels. I'm not a fan of Kyle Shanahan but McDaniels is an entirely different level of stupidity, whininess, and NFL shame. McDaniels was also awful during his tenure with the Broncos, it's best just to forget about it.
  13. In my mind, if Hostler was going to be the guy, he'd already be there. I don't recall us fielding outside interviews when Rex, Mattison, or Pagano left.
  14. Good man! I'm anxious to see how this turns out. Looks like 4 names: Hostler, Wilson, Linehan, and Shanahan.
  15. Just saying. Not like the Texans offense took any steps back without him, either. They improved or stayed the same in almost every metric
  16. Kyles first year was not the RG3 year. He had two seasons before that as well - Redskins stunk then too
  17. If Shanahan comes here, expect RG3 as our backup Rex Grossman III, that is They have some kind of blood bond
  18. Ozzie Newsome said the defense not getting off the field cost us 3-4 games. So what are we talking about? They were better overall than the offense but not perfect and, yes, their failures contributed to our average season.
  19. $5m - $6m? Just seems like you're saying the same things.
  20. His post specifically said Pitta would not get Gronk or Graham money, no one is arguing that.
  21. I wouldn't really expect him to say differently but that doesn't mean he's being honest.
  22. The first few episodes of the series are pretty raw but they catch their groove and it's hilarious. The humor can be REALLY crude. Also has a pretty deep moral / artistic side that you don't really see in comedies.
  23. Wilfred
  24. I agree and I'm no real fan of it. I just hear Seth Macfarlane doing his different accents with some uninspired, stolen characters.
  25. Sounds like every Family Guy episode. Random stuff, no plot, not all that funny. Just Seth MacFarlane and his voices.
