  1. You make a compelling case. I guess it's just something I 'feel' - take that for what it's worth, not much.
  2. Yeah but he's underachieved for so long, don't know if I can trust it.
  3. Not on board with Britt at all but I can buy your reasoning with Wallace. The Ravens sent Boldin packing for that much.
  4. He had space if he would've stepped forward rather than run to his right. He out-ran his blocker and it got him hit. The defender in the middle was being double-teamed and was neutralized, his blind-side rusher was on the ground. As to anyone being open, that's on play-design/selection and the WRs I guess. Can see it again from this angle - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7JH-Newv6Y Outside of turning the ball over, the last thing the Falcons could afford was a 12-yard sack. For great plays made (or disasterous plays avoided) under pressure in a Super Bowl, look no further than your boy Joe Flacco! At the 1:47, 4:39, and 9:04 marks - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKNj4XHGDv0 I think that it IS enough time to react to the pressure, yes, we see this all the time in the NFL. It's almost instinctual with these guys, sometimes. Is it fair to ask or could I expect to do it? Absolutely not. You always hear it's a game of inches, though.
  5. I agree with the trade-back in that it allows us to nail some top needs with high picks like you did here. But if a valuable corner is there at 16, I think they fall over themselves turning in the card. Which is the right choice, imo.
  6. Ryan was done his drop, saw the pressure, ran right, out-ran his blocker, the rusher shed and got him. He did have that split-second to decide to throw it, throw it away, and/or climb the pocket to escape
  7. True, my amateur eye did not like what I saw from Kpassagnon at the Senior Bowl, either. He may be overdrafted but 5th-6th round wouldn't be bad for him.
  8. That's a fair point. Ryan was probably on board with being aggressive - maybe even encouraged in as Joe has done in the past - but when he got that pressure up that middle, he panicked, ran the wrong way, and held the ball longer than he should. Then the series of plays that pushed them out of FG range where he can be heard mic'd up saying 'What the [Falcon], guys, did you hold?' as they shot themselves in the foot again. Can't really blame him for the sack-fumble. His RB whiffed and Ryan didn't even see the guy.
  9. *When healthy But, seriously, that's a monster position group
  10. This is true though I don't know if they get checks throughout the weeks of OTAs, training camp, etc. Half their game checks will (hypothetically) be out of state.
  11. This week, the Pro Football Hall of Fame released their 94-name list of nominees for the 2017 HOF class. Many familiar names to Ravens fans, including some former Ravens like Derrick Mason and Randall Cunningham. Up to 8 nominees will eventually make it into the HOF, if I was voting I would chose... RB LaDanian Tomlinson WR Terrell Owens OG Alan Faneca DE Jason Taylor LB Zach Taylor DB Brian Dawkins DB Steve Atwater Coach Don Coryell Might be my modern-day bias but those are some great NFL players. There are some names on there that are just disgraceful and have more to do with media affiliations than NFL performance. Guys like Tedy Bruschi, Carl Banks, Willie McGinest, Rodney Harrison, and Darren Woodson are examples of that. Some guys should be removed for gross incompetence of selection, Bob Sanders, Tedy Bruschi, and Willie McGinest were no where near all-time great players. And Darren Sharper is on the list... seriously?? What is your opinion? See the full list here - http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000702644/article/nominees-for-pro-football-hall-of-fame-class-of-2017-announced
  12. Patriots basically have all of their draft picks - 1st (32), 2nd (32), 3rd (32), 4th (24), 5th (19), and 7th (21) are available for trade. Also, whichever compensatory pick Cleveland gets for losing Alex Mack (it was traded to the Patriots for Jamie Collins). Projected to be a 3rd or 4th rounder. I have some talks going - you know who you are - but the Patriots need some help at CB and DL
  13. I was, too. He was never truly great, just played a ton of years. The under 4 yards/carry stat would have sunk him in my book.
  14. Thank you to everyone who posted Depth Charts in the Depth Chart thread! The Directory post has now been linked to your teams Depth Chart. This is a fast way to access your own, or to look at others, all through the pinned Directory Thread. Check it out, let me know if you see any issues. If you haven't posted a Depth Chart yet, please try to when you get a chance. It's a good way to catalog and get to know your team.

  19. Yup, ours was 22. I still subscribe to the flimsy/joke excuse that the power outage was done to make the game competitive again lol. We had left the SB 51 party early, assuming the game was over after the failed onsides kick towards the end of the 3rd quarter - we had to make a long drive. Streamed the rest in the car and, man, were we wrong.

  21. I think 'two-down' ILBs are a thing of the past, especially on our team. When the Ravens started cycling out Smith for Orr on third down, that was the writing on the wall for him. Mosley and Orr never left the field and I think Pees and Harbaugh were happy with that.
  22. Thank goodness we didn't lose the SB and have to offer flimsy excuses to justify a collapse of epic proportions. We made the plays when we needed them, the Falcons did not. Goes across all phases and players. Yes, including the QB position.
  23. I have the same question. Maybe one coaches schemes and the other focuses on technique? Honestly couldn't tell you... those two words are synonymous in my book.
  24. Complexity isn't the same as creativity.
  25. Same with the Michigan Harbaugh brother connection
