  1. Agreeing with you up until this point. The Ravens had a very good rate at avoiding 3-and-outs. Of their 192 drives, only 35 ended in a 3-and-out, which is an 18.23% rate and good for 6th best in the league (LINK). That's in front of teams like the Packers, Cowboys, Steelers, and even the Patriots who were bottom 6. Also, the Ravens had a positive TOP on the year and were above-average (12th overall) for the league (LINK). The defense blowing leads had less to do with the offense and was more on their own failings. Losing Jimmy Smith really seemed to tank that unit and Pees could not adjust adequately - didn't help that some prolific offense came through, too.
  2. Any the rule of 51 applies to draft selections, too, right? So swapping the pick for the player keeps the same number of 'top 51' contracts, right? Although Thompson has a bigger contract than the Round 5 pick... I'm lost on that one. Is it a 3.5 hit or a 4 hit?
  3. Extra secret microphones in the locker room when you come in for a game! Belichick is fuming. How do we treat the RFA additions on the SOF? I put it in FA additions but I guess it's almost technically a trade.
  4. I will match, updated my SOF
  5. My 5th is 19 in the round, I've taken it off my SOF
  6. New England Patriots ILB Will Compton 5.5 stars
  7. Well, Arnie is gaming and has stockpiled a ton of picks and cap space. Real life Synder is low-balling his franchise QB
  8. Trade up in the 1st round of the 2013 NFL draft for... EJ Manuel Or sit at 32 and pick... Geno Smith Legends like Tim Tebow, Matt Casell, Kevin Kolb, Matt Moore, and Ryan Fitzpatrick were veteran free agents at that time Or trade a whole bunch of capital for a QB that a team was willing to part with and let Flacco walk for a 3rd-round compensatory pick. Or, sign Flacco to a long-term deal he earned.
  9. This is true. He had all of the leverage after winning the SB with that end-of-year run. One of the times wear the gamble worked for the player and the team paid up. Whether you love or hate him, he's going to be on the team for the next few years at least - just the way his deal is set up.
  10. LOL I know you were kidding but, really Synder has always been a cheapskate - just not with the salary cap. He gouges fans for little things and his businesses do the same things to consumers. Maybe he is becoming a total cheapskate, based on the weird stuff going on with their offseason this year.
  11. Flacco has no control on his cap number. That's all in how the Ravens have set up his contact.
  12. New England Patriots ILB Will Compton 4 stars
  13. If teams would be interested in him at that rate, what are the chances of a trade?
  14. New England Patriots ILB Will Compton - Original (UDFA) 2.5 stars
  15. New England Patriots RB Chris Thompson - Original (5th round) 4 stars
  16. True, but there is that other side
  17. Well we do a lot of rounding, and they're stars so that's fun How else will you know how much money you have?
  18. And do this, too! The Google Doc is an innovation, folks! Makes it easy
  19. He had some time when he was running to his right but, yeah, trying to get rid of the ball at that last moment is foolhardy
  20. Oh, I agree with that, but when we were in the playoffs every year and capped it with a Super Bowl, we could snatch a guy like Elvis Dumervil, one of the hottest FAs. We still can land great players like Steve Smith, Weddle, and Daryl Smith though.
  21. Last day to do your RFA, ERFA, and franchise tagging!
  22. Why would he not be able to get it past the LOS?
  23. Yup, that was as good as they've played since 2014. It was beauty and Flacco played a hell of a game. Our defense made the Dolphins quit, too. In any case, we're probably on equal footing with other teams as far as the 'winning' goes. What we do have going for us is some good player ambassadors - Weddle, Wallace - that talk to guys around the league.
  24. We whipped the Dolphins pretty good but, yeah, few and far in between.
  25. Okay, there were two 'middle' rushers, I was referring to the one who is seen being double-teamed and blocked, obviously not Trey Flowers who makes the sack. That's where there was space in the pocket, which you had asked. Who says Matt Ryan shoulders all the blame? That's pretty hyperbolic. The coordinator didn't put him in a good spot and he didn't make the best decisions/actions. It falls on all the team, including the league OPOY and MVP QB. He is not above it, nor is Joe Flacco when things go awry. Can you justify the results? Sure.
