  1. You're not addressing the point that the league year started literally less than 24 hours ago. The Ravens still have a lot of time to make moves, draft players, and build the team. We've got 6 months before the first game, let's see what happens.
  2. A lot of teams feel that way but this is probably his chance to cash in
  3. Could make the argument that Williams has been more consistent and durable in his time here. It's reasonable to say he, and his position/performance, have more impact on the overall defense than Osemele or Wagner did on the offense. I'm just spit-balling, I was very sad to see KO go.
  4. The video of him is so sad. Just watched it wondering what he had done with all of the opportunities and talent granted to him... Aldon, real talk: if you have any capital left, move into your own space in a new neighborhood, delete/block 95% of your phone contacts (especially the ones that make you get swarmed by media outside of a police station and get the 'bad stories' circulated), workout intensely until your NFL banishment is completed. He'll be 28 in September, it is slipping through his hands. That is, if he's really serious about playing in the NFL and/or turning his life around. He's probably not.
  5. The Redskins are intentionally spreading lies and trying to humiliate him, the same way they got Jim Zorn to resign instead of firing him - to save money on the remaining contract with him. Now that they've fired their GM, either they did it 'with cause' for his supposed drinking or just want to make it seem like they had no other choice. In reality, Dan Synder is the worst owner in sports and has a terrible Front Office - led by Bruce Allen - to do his bidding. And... maybe it means more Ravens converts! I think Dick Cass is laughing his butt off.
  6. He's a top flight NT, that's what you have to pay. I understand the arguments for the younger, cheaper players but the Ravens were aggressive in wanting to keep him. I'm glad he's back.
  7. Or Asa Jackson
  8. So it's sourced - It's for PEDs - Dixon's statement makes it sound like Adderall but who knows. Stupid, stupid
  9. This is what I thought but Zrebiec said on Twitter that the Ravens didn't feel he looked comfortable there in practice and has more upside as a guard.
  10. No, it's not, but it's more of a move for the future than for the 2017 season. It's a good deal if they assume he stinks and can cut him next year. Then you have to make a good selection. They raided the Falcons and Eagles for picks in recent years. Those haven't proven to work out.
  11. Now that they have Osweiler, have the Browns officially left us in the dust?
  12. Good call, he's about the only FA I could see them target
  13. True but the more you overpay, the faster that money dries up.
  14. Living in the DC radio market, I'm loving the return of the self-loathing Redskins fans and media
  15. I think you're right, it's been quiet on his front. To be devil's advocate: No rush unless they were going after a guy and needed the cash. They cut Wright and Lewis to make room for their RFA signings. Dumervil went for the last wave of FA signings. Mangold is on the FA market - who knows if the Ravens are interested - but he is probably taking his time to weigh options. Maybe they see how the draft shakes out? Though I'm not sure if they've done something like that before.
  16. The training staff couldn't get open on him
  17. No, he was just joking that the Browns are a dysfunctional and bad franchise so they have to pay more to entice free agents to sign. Otherwise, they might go somewhere better for a lower deal.
  18. With over half - $31.5M - guaranteed! KO got 5 years, $58M with $25.4M guaranteed. I think it was Mike Silver who said the Browns have to pay a dysfunction tax. The Raiders had one, too, last season. How much more they had to pay to get an equal (imo, lesser) player is eye-opening.
  19. Didn't compare so let's not jump down the hyperbole hole. Just showing that a 40 time isn't a flawless metric.
  20. Ed Reed ran a 4.57, that's below average too. Not saying Jefferson is a speedster by any regards but I was digging for actual instances that it was a problem in his career. His 40 time just shows us that he won't be the closing leg of the office relay team.
  21. Sure, I'd give him most of the credit, and Frazier a lot of the rest, for the secondary turnaround. They were still decent despite inconsistent (bad) play from Wright and Powers. They got totally exposed when Jimmy went down, though. In honesty, this move is about a few things: 1. The Ravens targeting their guy, a top defensive FA, and (knock on wood) getting him 2. Beating out a better offer because of organization culture and recruiting by Weddle 3. Upgrading the secondary with youth and production
  22. What makes you think he is that slow? His 4 year old 40 time? Do you have any game clips where it is an issue?
  23. He sprained his MCL last year, making a tackle on ST in one of the final weeks. But, otherwise, never missed a game. Jefferson is a really good signing, in my opinion
  24. There's value to this point, for sure. But also consider that it's unusual to see Williams fighting off less than two blockers on any given play. As Grim said, he keep blockers off of LBs. Even on passing plays, he will attract blockers. They do sub him out in passing situations, though...
  25. Probably. The inflation in these contracts and the cap rising constantly makes it difficult but Brandon Williams has done everything right. We should want to reward him and keep him for his prime years. He just turned 28 and big NTs seem to hit their peaks from 28-32 if you look at guys like Vince Wilfork, Casey Hampton, Sam Adams, Kelly Gregg and others he would compare to. Damon Harrison just signed a deal last season for a little over $9M/year. That's probably the starting point. He's another guy that compares to Brandon and he had a huge impact on the Giants and is coming into his prime.
