  1. Joe's eliteness is and was a dumb subject. Who really cares? The media started the debate and ran with it. Personally, I like the fact the idiotic journalist stArted it. It kept teams away and prevented joe from leaving.
  2. pitta is a good guy but maybe he should move on. two broken hips may be a sign that his body may not be able to handle the brutality of of the sport. maybe pitta should get his agent could get him a job in broadcasting. after all, if theismann can do it he should have no problem.
  3. flacco broke the pocket and ran....almost had a heart attack. didn't want to see him get clipped.
  4. liked how Williams played on the final drive.
  5. jets screwed up. they have the opportunity to get rid of there "starting" qb and really attempt a winning season. this unknown second year linebacker actually had done the jets a favor. geno has proven his ego is bigger than his understanding of the game. this isn't west virginia where your playing school with defensive secondaries that read the play or run faster than your receivers. this is the nfl where your window small. There had to be more to the issue than $600 win players make millions. geno must have be playing the star card. if he did that the will only divide the locker room. and it might already done that.
  6. could the ravens hold a tribute to art modell during the steelers game? twenty years after he thumbed the nfl by bringing his team to balitmore. or, could it be the person the represented the blue collar work ethic that the ravens have treasured in the trenches, kelly gregg. while gregg is not a headliner, he gave it all he had.
  7. if upshaw only played in the steelers games... i'd be okay with that. i would suspect him to start lighting up the opposition with some tough hits. this his third year in a four year contract. it's pivotal year. it will either be extension, trade. should the ravens play him through the fourth year. he may, most likely, become the next kruger and mcphee.
  8. flacco in the hall of fame...sounds nice. with all the playoff appearances and the only current player with the possible chance to break the nfl iron man record, that should be enough. the problem lies in the fact that there are so many qb's playing right now that might cause flacco to be overlooked. another variable might be a qb like eli manning or philip rivers. eli has two super bowls but they were won with fluke plays being involved. but every drive to the big game requires a bit of luck. does he deserve a hall bid? if he does not, flacco chances may be damaged. flacco is a better qb than eli. eli's gift is he had and has have more talent surrounding him in the wideout positions. along with luck i had mentioned. flacco has had receivers that dropped the ball. eli has receivers that have made catches that can't be reasoned in key moments. some might argue flacco may have experienced luck with jacoby in denver. i believe the play was made from denver underestimated the arm of flacco. form that one play players and coaches took flacco more seriously like they may have never had. how about rivers? does he get in? if he does flacco is a shoe in. i don't think rivers should. he has stats but he seem detrimental at times. maybe it was the way the chargers get coach? i don't know. i have seen is that when the pressure is on phillips can't win. sure he can win in a final drive in the regular season. but football in recent years has become like other sports in that the real season is in the playoffs. rivers has proven he can't. kinda similar to a another favorite nfl qb named romo. should flacco make it through and get elected into the hall, it maybe years. his road to the hall will similar to andre reed or chris carter. it may take former teammates that have become television analyst to lobby for him.
  9. billick in the ring of honor? no way! yes, he was at the helm for the first super bowl win for the ravens. that was thanks to coaches and players. billick was a suppose to be a an offensive guru. he was failure in that regard. look at all the awesome qb he tried to build a team with. his ego was more of a hindrance than anything. if it wasn't for players like stark, boulware, the multiple lewis's, ogden and even mcalister the fan base may have alienated him. who gets rid of a super bowl winning qb? a qb that got an offense to gel enough to destroy giants. that's right, billick does. geez, marvin lewis deserves the ring of honor more than billick does.
  10. could one image what if the ravens drafted steve smith in the third round instead of casey rabach back in 2001? how different the ravens could have been. ya, i know. hindsight is 20/20. i can't help but imagine the battles he might of had with the afc north rivals. or who could have been picked that ravens didn't have to pick receivers that had become busts. smith is one of those players that has fit the Ravens' mold. undersized and under valued in the eyes of scouts and gms. carolina got him and could not get a franchise qb to exemplify his talents. yes, he was dominant with players around him and in their system. just image what if heap at tight end and smith sr leading the offense and ray lewis leading the defense. the cohesion of the two might have lead to unthinkable playoffs and possible super bowls. for example, it could have been smith making the catch instead of lee evans dropping the pass in the endzone. or, smith instead of houshmandzadeh. Carolina should be lucky to have this guy in their short history. steve would have be the model raven. another funny or scary thought... if smith was a raven, bilick might still be the coach and flacco may be a backup to breez or cutler. on that note, i'm just glad the ravens got him the way they did.
  11. Unless pitta gets a job in the front office, this bromance is over %uD83D%uDC6C
  12. Geeez. I forgot about this guy. Got hurt last year. Then gets hurt this year. Like Elam, it may time to cut ties.
  13. another pro raven opinion from peter king...is the sky falling? or am i missing the backhanded compliments? i even heard him say something good on sport televised sport show.
  14. if pollard could do the impossible by playing a role and keeping his mouth shut; i like to see him hitting new england players in the playoffs. but, he won't and can't
  15. interesting day. many media outlets are implying that the ravens should be chastised for them leaking info. god forbid, the patriots should be held to the same standards as the rest of the nfl teams. funny how many people love tom brady. or maybe, it's more they feel their lives are empty and tom's life is what they desire. this theory seems evident among yahoo writers.
  16. reynolds pulling over to help someone shows he is quick to react and can make decisions. hopefully he can do the same on the field. ....and it's good someone to have someone on the team that can sustain gunshot wounds in baltimore..... :-P
  17. this is off subject but i got a bone to pick with the nfl network. when i see anything ravens is on their little news highlight i try to watch it or record it. then nfl network will dump the story for some cowboys, patriots, eagles or manning story. then the network goes to a teams training camp and spends all day talking about that team with other information from around the league sprinkled in. however, when they go to baltimore, it's about the league sprinkled the baltimore stories. usually, the story is about flacco and his eliteness status. maybe they should change their name to the jerry jones network...
  18. can we move on. the patriots will when brady is do his suspension. anyone notice that it is only brady making noise and not the belichick or the patriots. (kraft is complaining but but that's more of a whimper.) brady, like belichick, knows he can be replaced. it's the system that works. Garoppolo has the chance to end brady's career in new england. if this guy leads the pats 3-1 or 4-0. brady may be let go or traded. and brady knows this. fans will deny this.
  19. the referees better be on point coming to baltimore on a monday night. i just hear the fans calling them out on espn now. gotta love it
  20. skip bayless showing love towards a ravens player almost caused me to go into shock.
  21. another disappointment. this is a make or break year for elam.
  22. elam and brown, what the ...?
  23. i would have sung a baltimore original... the star spangled banner. or maybe the adopted white stripes' song seven nation army.
  24. peter king on the ravens band wagon? i don't buy it. yes, he has put the ravens as contenders in his writings. i still believe he playing the of role of that guy playing nice to you just to get a chance to date your sister.
  25. realist time. the nfl is a business and the players are a part of that. top players know who they are. especailly now. with all the media harping and making stories of whos and wheres. in todays game trying to get a top player to spend their career in one place is increasingly rare. i just hope the ravens can atleast keep one.
