Go back and watch the Texas A&M game. The whole thing.... Show me one standout play that CJ Mosley makes.... I did watch the film, clearly you have not....

Top end speed isnt a trait per se, but agility and strength certainly are... Somthing Mosley just doesnt have. Good football IQ... aka lower wonderlic scores than Shazier Good Instincts.... Usually lead to on field output you would think right???? Lol intangibles??? Explain.... More like he went to alabama and everyone loves the tide.....

You must have missed the Performance part.... you know actually preforming on the field..... What the dude is getting paid to do.... but was lackluster throughout most of college....

Mosely who for all intensive purposes is the same size can add weight but shazier cannot.... Explain??? Mosley scored a 19 in the wonderlic, Shazier scored a a 20.... fairly equal if you ask me. Why are you comparing the Steelers DL to ours???? Shazier was top 3 in tackles in the NCAA last year but he cant get off blocks... lol

Shazier was 3rd in the NCAA in tackles last year. He wasnt excactly swallowed up. I will agree he is to small to play ILB, but by your definition so is Mosley. Mosely gets swallowed up and is insignificant in the middle but isnt as relevant as an OLB....Im not sure where you are going with your arguement..... Shazier has potential to be ELITE at the OLB position. Mosley has potential to be average at the ILB position and has no potential at OLB...

latimer, Matthews, or robinson in the 2nd please

So explain to me how a smaller (weight) and weaker player in CJ mosley will not get swallowed up as a Inside Linebacker....

Jordan Matthers in the 2nd would turn this draft around for sure! I hope he slips to us!!!!

LOL CJ is 6'2 234 at ILB........ Shazier ran a 4.37 not a 4.68... Shazier put up 25 reps not 15.... Shazier has a 42" verticle not 35" Shazier has a 6.91 three cone not 7.30 Shazier led the Big-10 in tackles with 144, 3rd best in all the NCAA for 2013, and 11th all-time in the Big-10 for his career. In 2012, Shazier was in the Big-10 top-10 for "passes defended" (12). That's a category normally reserved for top CBs, but Shazier jumped up in there...while he also led the Big-10 in TFLs and was 3rd in total tackles. Shazier is 'off the charts' as a performer.

Your right.... I am referring to players in NCAA 1A not DIII schools. Mosley was an OKAY college athlete. Show me ONE reason why he was more than average. ONE..... Just one stat where was better than most LBs... ONE!!!!! PLEASE!!!! BTW.... Luck Kuechly Patrick Willis Ray Lewis All had average college football stats right, and average metrics...... Oh and Shazier who is ELITE in EVERY measurable and had elite production in college AT EVERY LEVEL... Oh and there is a BLUEPRINT for GREAT linebackers... to say there is not is naive.... Name one who had average metrics and average college production who ended up being ELITE... JUST ONE... Again you cannot.....Its cool Ed_Reed20... this is the internet. Everyone is entitled to there opinion.....

Ryan Shazier and Aaron Donald will be the two steals of the first round..... Shame we missed out on both.

@ ed_reed20 Im not saying he isnt a good athlete... I am saying he is an AVERAGE NFL athlete. ANYONE who can play in the NFL is a good athlete by definiton.....

Name JUST ONE top 20 inside linebacker in the NFL currently who was not in the top 10 total tackles in the NCAA atleast once during there college tenure..... Yeah just about all of the past great LBs in the NFL were GREAT college players.... And yes a 4.63 40 is pedestrian for a first round LB.... his 10 yard of 1.56 is average.... and 15 reps of 225 is a JOKE.... but again you need to look at other LBs who are GREAT before you make an opionion because clearly you have not.....

I hope I hit an all time negative post record. You guys need to WATCH the tape and look at the metrics.... Then make a judgement. It truly is unfortunate that Martin was taken by the cowboys. Shazier is going to destroy us for the next decade... But once again I am just speaking MY OWN opinions..... make your own judgements..... I do trust Ozzie but that doesnt mean he doesnt make a mistake everyonce in a while......

I j re-watched him vs. Texas A&M, and it encompasses all I ever see with Mosley. He sits in the middle of the field, and is always about a step or two behind plays. He makes his tackles with others...rarely do you ever see a clean, impressive solo stick by Mosley. Rather, there is a lot of chased/pushed out of bounds and runs up the middle where Mosley is one of the bodies clutching the pile toward the ground. He had 12 tackles in this game...and I'd love to know who was doing the counting of the tackles, because I didn't see it. Mosley rushed Manziel on occasion, and he never would get close...usually he was easily, too easily blockaded by an offensive lineman. I was wildly unimpressed with him in this game...and most every game I watched of him (from the context of 1st-round, best ILB in the draft perspective).

AVERAGE tackle counts and PEDESTRIAN metrics (You know 40 times, Agility Drills, Bench) PLUS the fact his is undersized... but your right he is a "Good" athlete.......

Ozzie is blinded by the tide once again...

Look back at all the GREAT ILB prospects who went on to greatness in the NFL, Mosley has very little in common with them in on-field performance numbers, nor athletically.

Yes I have. Have you.... His total-tackle counts were OK/solid, but not out of this world. Actually, I would say they were average for a good SEC linebacker. He never finished in the top-10 for tackles in the NCAAs in any of his seasons in college.

at best we are getting an under-sized, stable ILB prospect...one who is too slow to be a high-impact OLB in the NFL. However, like the Alabama linebackers before him (Mclain/Hightower) Mosley gets a Tide Roll right into the 1st-round of this draft despite his shortcomings......
