The Steelers offense was looking good at the end of the season, so this is interesting.I heard from Luke Jones that Kirby Wilson was handling a little more of the offensive game planing responsibilities for the Steelers during the later part of the season.. I heard it from wnst audio vault where it saids Luke Jones (WNST) joins Glenn for a Ravens report on OC search . link
Never in my life have I heard a team building their offense around an OL coach until now. Clearly Juan has something on John.whoever the OC is, he should have free reigns find HIS personnel. Whatever way to be a successful OC.
If Castillo interferes w/ his regime, he should be allowed to find a new lineman coach.
I can't believe we just had to lock in Castillo that fast the moment season was over.
Munchek just got hired by steelers. Couldn't we take a look @ a former HOF lineman w HC exp & 20year of lineman coaching exp?
Haha I did say that didn't I?there's a possibility he picks someone else he is still "interviewing" supposedly. Maybe these "inside sources" are wrong . you never know but you were right it's not Castillo
so I'm quoting you
If Hostler becomes OC...Harbaugh might as well start his countdown.
Idk, the Denver offense was ehhhh until Talib went out.If the weather is really bad, Seattle has a chance.
If it's not, this ain't Centurylink field and that QB on the other sideline ain't Colin Kaepernick.
That Denver Defense is much better against the run than many think and if Marshawn Lynch doesn't get his 100 yards, it suddenly dicey for the Hawks.
Russell Wilson will make a play or two, but if it's not freezing, Peyton Manning is going to make a bunch more. Anyone watching his last three games has to have seen Russell Wilson really off form and making decisions that are accidents waiting to happen.
Decent weather and the Broncos by a bunch.
Really bad weather that affects Mannings grip on the ball and maybe it's a toss up.
Seattle's backfield is another beast entirely.
Ravens are more secretive than the FBI.Does anyone else feel like this whole process has been extremely quiet?
Alex Smith sure doesn't look like a bum any more.Yep, seven years ago, when he was 40, when he had a bum QB, and when he had never done it before. Outdated data
I don't like Hostler for OC but to be fair, what has the FO given him in terms of receivers? None in the first round, and only Torrey in the first two. The rest have been projects...after drafting 20 wideouts and one develops into over a 1000 yard receiver and the Receivers coach is a candidate for promotion ,,,thats bizarre but I hope your right and its not Castillo .
and that's not counting undrafted rookies .
He was probably talking about Hostler, who is going to be interviewed.when I heard the we interviewed Shannahan I was like yes we are looking for a good OC, then the unsubstantiated rumor that Kubiak had been seen at jimmy's . I was even more sure finally we would get a creative mind and a better playbook , then I logged on and saw that interview today and heard him say :"John thinks we have a potential candidate in house already" I knew. Just curious how long before they announce it.
Castillo is not a candidate, quote me.
Yeah Twitter HATES it. But Twitter isn't too intelligent, anyway.People following Aaron Wilson's twitter don't like Kyle Shanahan. all i saw was "God please no" about 5 times
The fact that they've already interviewed Shanahan shows how quiet they're keeping news on this thing.
It also shows that they were prepared to move on from Caldwell some time ago.
Stop trying to turn every thread into a Flacco bashfest troll. This is for legitimate OC discussion. Why would norv come out of browns and risk his OC job?
You flaccopologists demand every OC to get fired every year for what flacco does every season
"@RapSheet: #Ravens have interviewed former #Redskins OC Kyle Shanahan for their vacant offensive coordinator position, per source."
Norv is not coming here, the Browns won't let him interview here.
Exactly. He's right there. Are you gonna flat out refuse to interview him? Would be rude to the max.It would be pretty uncouth not to interview him. The fact that he hasn't't been promoted should say a lot.
Less concerned by the prospect of Hostler than I was before. I think if we were gonna promote from within, we would've already announced it (Pagano and Pees were both promoted within a day).
It's just a courtesy.
Half the guys on the team would be older than him lol.ESPN said that Rhett Lashlee, OC, Auburn, may be an out-of0the-box type signing for Balty. He is only 30 and has worked under Malzahn for several years now
From a Mike Preston article in the sunpaper...
Mike Preston is a credible source now? Just today he claimed that Flacco needed to be more like Manning and do a better job at drawing defenses offsides. He forgot to mention the part where the Ravens lead the league in neutral zone infractions committed by opponents. And that's just one example from TODAY.
Ravens QB Joe Flacco & His Receivers Have No Offseason
Ravens’ Joe Flacco makes quick work of offense
Before organized team activities began, Flacco and his receivers participated in throwing sessions at the team’s facility, during the same day a weightlifting period was scheduled.
The idea was to work on timing, something Flacco and the receivers struggled with at times a year ago.
“Joe has grown into being one of the best,” receiver LaQuan Williams said. “He doesn’t get a lot of credit, but he works so hard and pushes us.”

I don't think it'll be bad if we get another trustworthy guy. He didn't have to lock onto Pitta last year because he also had Boldin. They had a pretty good connection in 2012.
Agreed. Flacco was locking onto Pitta at the end of the year.Ravens need to draft TE 1st round, WR 2nd round this spring. The Flacco-Pitta relationship is a detriment to the team. It only works if they both excel and the only way for Pitta to excel is for Joe to target/favor him & other teams know this. Also, with the Smith brothers (Jimmy/Torrey) due new contracts next year we need to draft some skill players this year cuz I can see us strapped to meet their demands.
Yep, it's Harbaugh who didn't like him.For what it's worth, Hue apparently had a close relationship with both Flacco and Rice when he was here - both of them really liked him.
For the Norv fans, looks like he may be on the way out...

I agree with all of this but iirc Hue Jackson and John Harbaugh don't have a great relationship. No to Kubiak because his offense is all based on the run game. Once the run game is gone, then it's downhill from there.
Kyle Shanahan is someone I would look into since he knows the ZBS, but he's also bringing in the WCO, which is not part of Flacco's strength.
Hue Jackson... Ravens need to pull the trigger on this guy since he can work magic on the team like he did with the Bengals Running Game.
Send Jim Caldwell back to QB Coach!
You would think, but some people definitely take joy in the failures.Seriously? We all want success, that's being a fan. But when criticizing the guy you have to know the whole story. It isn't all on Caldwell. If we can get the right personnel or if he can adapt his playbook to what we end up having then I predict this offense will get back on track.
I think Caldwell is in over his head as an OC. That's just what I think.

I can't believe Hostler is a finalist. What a joke.
