Some of the actions of some of the players are hard for us to stand by and watch. However, before the teams or the NFL acts, these players deserve their day in court. This witch hunt by the media is going to go to far soon and a player that is framed by a spouse/girlfriend/ex-spouse or ex-girlfriend for personal reasons is going to loose his job even before all the facts are known. We will have vengeful women showing doctored photos or just hurtful rumors doing in a guys career.
Please understand as a woman I am in no way supporting acts of abuse and or violence. I personally think that we have way too much of it in our society. I just want the abusers to face their punishment from the courts (rather that is a plea deal, found guilty or innocent) before they are hung out to dry by public opinion and the NFL. And yes, I agree with most that Rice's suspension was too light and that is what started this mess.
Before a child reaches an age where they can reasonably understand talking to them about cause and effect, a good swat on the hand when they touch something you have told them no to is not out of order. It gets a little hard to justify hitting a child at all when they reach 5 or 6. But it is never okay to leave any kind of mark on a child in the name of discipline. All that said, when I was raising my son he had a very bad temper and when he was 5 he threw a chair at a day care worker when told it was nap time. I was informed of this when I went to pick him up that evening. I asked the director if I could use her office for a minute. My son and I went into the office. I closed the door and told my son that this is what will happen every time he tries to hurt someone. I then spanked him on his bottom. Did not even leave a red mark. But that spanking worked it got his full attention that what he did was wrong. There was never another incident of him acting out like that. So, to me there are times when spanking a child is really the best solution. Also, there was never an incident after that needing any kind of spanking. After that we dealt with other issues where he was nonviolent with restrictions and groundings. I also would like to say that I had one of those parents that like a belt as his form of punishing us. Even when we were as young as 2. So, just because AP's dad did it is no excuse.
Ozzie just keeps doing his thing. This has the potential to be an outstanding deal. The part I liked the best is not allowing any sacks. Way to go Ozzie! Welcome to the Ravens Jeremy Zuttah. Hope you have a great Pro-Bowl career here with us.
People keep forgetting we have one more receiver in the mix - Aaron Mellette. He will also benefit from having that veteran around.
Glad you are staying Monroe. Ravens fan appreciate you. Good move Ozzie. Now let's get D. Smith tied down and we will be set for free agency and the draft and know what to get from which. Keep it up Ozzie! Go Ravens!!
I hope for McClain's sake that he has gotten his life together now.
I hope if he does want to return to football that the Ravens give him that chance. Have him at OTA's and training camp and see what kind of shape he is in. If Sabin knew that Rolando was planning on a return to the NFL, I am sure that he helped him stay in at least college level shape. But we all know that there is a big difference between college level fit and what Coach Harbs will consider Ravens fit.
Good luck to him in any case as it looks like he has been working hard to make things right.
Myth: ____ is because Ray Lewis retired. Feel free to fill in the blank.
Fact: Daryl Smith was a better all around player than what Ray Lewis would have been.
The team has done well with motivation without Ray's pregame talks.
I see numerous players on the side lines encouraging one another and holding one another accoutable
Even if some miscarriage of justice frees Hernandez, I can not see a single team that would touch him after all that has come out.

I am glad that Ed is going to retire as a Raven. It will be great to have him put in the Ring of Honor. I also think they should retire his number. But Ed becoming a coach?? It takes a certain type of personality to coach and how do we know if he can do it. Yes, there is probably not a more knowledgeable player at the safety position ever but can he translate that knowledge as a coach? That would be a big question. I would like to see if he would want to come back to the Ravens as an advisor to the secondary and then see where it goes from there. If Ed even wants to consider coaching at all.
