  1. What's frustrating about this, is the excitement and potential this team has. There's a buzz about this Ravens team and I'm talking outside of Owings Mills.  I truly feel this team has the ability to do great things this season.  However, when one of the team leaders doesn't show the excitement for this season, it's disheartening.

I could not have said it better myself!

  2. For his own sake, I hope he retires. He's a great guy and a seems like a stand up person, he shouldn't risk his health like this. His second injury was without any contact...how high do you imagine the risk is, when defenders start pounding him right against that hip?? Because it's bound to happen. I would love to see him play for the Ravens one more time, but at the same time I don't want to see him become a cripple for the rest of his long life.

  3. Summer is long and a lot of time left, but the most discouraging fact about Suggs is that, even though he's out of shape, it doesn't seem to be a physical thing. It seems to be a mental thing. It seems as if he doesn't have any kind of motivation left in him. As if...he doesn't want to play anymore.

And if that's the case we should have serious concerns about the game of our pass rush.

  4. Boyle should prepare for a bigger role, because I really think Pitta should call it a career. For his sake. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see him fire it up with Flacco more than anything else, he's such a stand up great guy, one of my favorite players hands down. But exactly for those reasons he should think about his health and retire. His re-injuring is now rather a question of when more than if. May be he gets lucky and it won't happen again for 5 years, maybe he can even retire in his 30s without it happening, but the risk will always be there, especially as a bigger TE who will get constant punishment to that hip. And another injury like that could leave him crippled for life. I would never want something like that to happen to a player, especially to Pitta. So I really hope he quits, otherwise I will be scared every time I see him jogging onto the field.

  5. It was a solid draft for us but I still have that nagging feeling that we could have done better. To me the problem wasn't the picks themselves, but the fact that Oz seemed to deviate from his "the best player available" mantra with almost all but couple of picks (Carl Davis, Za'Darius Smith) and instead took "one of the best players available, who also fills our need" aproach. Which is why I think this will be one of the biggest boom or bust drafts for us. Only time will tell.

  6. Also, since Steelers drafted ridiculously fast Shazier, I think our next top priority is OT. That guy ran 4.36! 40-yard dash at pro-day. He can literally run a circle around a tackle and still get to the QB.

I can still painfully remember Polamalus' sack fumble for a TD from 2010 that cost us the game (and pretty much led to Steelers SB victory). It seemed like forever when he got clean through from the left side and was rushing for Flacco. Please don't make me watch anything like that ever again, please!

  7. I'm almost as excited about Browns drafting Manziel as I am about Ravens drafting Mosley. I HATE that smug arrogant clown called Manziel. Now it's twice as much fun to watch our Ravens' kicking Browns and Manziel along with them to the dirt twice every year (theoretically even more, but c'mon, who are we kidding). This guy won't last a season as a starter in the AFC North. Oh joy!

  8. I don't know if any of you believe in fate or anything like that, but consider this:
2 of the players who were (realistically) among the highest on Ravens' board (Martin, Mosley) fell to the picks 16, 17.
We lost the tie-breaker to Cowboys who took Martin at 16.
Now, if Mosley turns out to be the next great HOF LB then I'd say that things worked out pretty amazingly in 2014 Draft for us. Fortune has favored Ravens' couple of times before, so let's hope for the best!

Still need to get that FS position sorted out, though. But most of the draft is still ahead of us and Oz is known for his great bargain deals after the draft as well, so don't lose hope just yet ;)
