  1. I don't know if I should cry or laugh at Campanaro's injuries. I hope it's fictitious diagnosis as a precautionary measure just to keep him out and healthy until our week 1 game and maybe throw the Broncos defensive game planning off just a bit. Otherwise it's getting ridiculous already.
  2. 67 points, that is. And not only this, but the Ravens are dead last in yards allowed per game (and points as well, of course). And I KNOW, it's only preseason. But it's preseason for everyone. Yet somehow Bengals, Steelers and Broncos manage to be at the better top of the defensive stat lists. And we'll be playing against these teams almost 1/3 of our regular season. The funny thing is, and I actually thought about this during our first game against NO, that our backups seem to be below par this year. Ravens typically have very strong 2nd and 3rd stringers, so even if the starters struggle, the backups are usually able to pull the game out. Not this year though. In the NO game everything started to fall apart once starters left the field. It was one solid drive by the 3rd stringers that got us the win. And in this game, not even the starters performed well, let alone their backups. It were 3rd stringers again who were able to make something happen. My question is, what has changed?? Aren't the backups just as good as they usually are? Or has the play calling been lopsided?
  3. https://i.imgflip.com/pxsi3.gif Wow! I completely missed this during the game. I guess emotions can over boil when you're getting so completely whipped, but c'mon...this can't happen! We were lucky it went unnoticed. Unfortunately for McClellan this will probably mean he'll be out of couple of bucks. But next time it might be worse. Jeesh!
  4. As much as I hate Tomlin, I remember a fantastic saying he quoted after one of the Steelers brutal losses couple of years back. It went something like "Excuses are tools of the incompetent, so I won't be making any. We just were not as good of a football team as they were". All I've been hearing from Ravens so far are excuses. "The headphones didn't work!! And besides, we weren't game planning anyway, so...". Well, you weren't game planning against NO as well, and it can't be said that the Eagles defense was running some major exotic plays either. Yet they executed and held our offense to 0! points for 3 quarters. Stop blaming your issues on some outside factors and admit that our defense just sucked, our offense fell flat and Eagles' players simply out played our players. And say how it is - our team just is not as good yet as it is hyped up to be with all the SB contenders talk. YET! But we have 2 preseason games and a long regular season left. We can get there, if we stop blaming bad games on bad technology or bad preparation and face the truth - we might not be as good as advertised, but we can get there if no one gets too cozy in their comfort zone and continues to grind it out. There's long road to San Francisco and to third SB trophy. Let's get to work!
  5. Does anyone know anything about the report that Perriman has sprained PCL and was walking around in a knee brace?? Anyway, does anyone know more about it?? Was it an official diagnosis or just Jamison Hensley's take on the injury? Was Perriman really wearing a brace?? Because if it's true, then Perriman will likely miss the entire pre-season and be questionable for W1 at best. And if that is the case, someone from the Ravens's training staff better start answering some questions like who was responsible for not scheduling the MRI sooner, who wasn't competent enough to diagnose the sprain for 2 weeks, why are such medical "professionals" part of this team and what will be the consequences. I really really hope it was just a misinterpretation by Hensley, but if anyone has any info, PLEASE, share! Because I don't know, I think this news would kind of overshadow all the joint practice reports about who made a nice catch and who danced at the backfield.
  6. I completely agree with you! Reading news from Eagles staff writers and journalists or comments from fans, they all seem to think that their team is watering down the practice so we could keep up. Arrogant naive little people They'll see come Saturday who needs to keep up with who!!
  7. We have so many so awesome young franchise guys on the team, it's crazy. I mean like really really cool people you'd love to be around with like Tucker, Brandon, Flacco, J. Smith. All seem like exceptional personalities in their own way. The vibe in that locker room must be Legendary! I actually don't know whose jersey to buy.
  8. Does anyone know what the heck was Harbaugh jabbering on about?? He looked like a crazy person. And I'm not sure that in a good way either.
  9. Finally some good news on the injury frontier!! We all know how much appreciated the depth is at DB position. I only hope the trainers won't experiment on him (or anyone else for that matter) with their strength training program and pop another biceps.
  10. My main question is, why did they do the MRI only now and not when he started to miss considerably more time than previously prognosed?? I mean seriously, teams at the NFL have unbelivable access to the best technology available and they did the most fundamental MRI now, when he has missed 2 weeks instead of 2 days? What the heck?! Who stalled it??
  11. Starters will play max 1Q, big junk of our backups are likely out. And it's our first preseason games. Jeesh...
  12. I don't remember Flacco being particularly successful out of shotgun.
  13. Jamison Hensley Tweeted: "#Ravens DT Timmy Jernigan missed practice with foot. CB Lardarius Webb left practice with hamstring tweak." What is Webb made out of glass?! Alright, I'm most likely overreacting and it's just a precautionary thing, but still! Webb couldn't stay healthy if he was in a padded room in a loony bin. Knowing his history, this little tweak will keep him out for days at least. I guess his nickname of Webby is justified, he's just as fragile as a spider web.
  14. Final Ride 2: Ice up, son!
  15. Hopefully so, but keep in mind, that better half of their defense was roaming the sidelines in street clothes.
  16. Aren't they? I mean you're right that non of them are in the Elam-Urban ball park, but missing an entire season is close to as bad as it gets injury wise so you can't really compare those injuries. But Perriman, who was supposed to miss couple of days, has now missed almost over a week. Considering it's a knee injury, I'm getting a bit worried. Brown had a back issue. Now the back is solved, they say he has another problem with hamstring. He has also been out for almost a week. If it was regular season then it would mean both of those guys would have most likely missed a game. That is generaly considered a problematic tendency already. Now, Maxx's eye. Usually when you get poked in the eye you take a time out, wash it off and get back into the game. The fact that he missed several days and had a temporary loss of vision in injured eye prior to rejoining practices... I mean, if loss of sight isn't serious, then I don't know what you consider serious, dude! Bottom line is, we have lost 2 depth players for the year and 3 potential starters are sitting out for nearly a week. That's already too meany too long injuries for my liking. But that's me you know, I like my players healthy and practicing out there.
  17. As for the injuries, last year it was the Lisfranc injury (also supposedly very uncommon), so this year it's the biceps popping. I don't know what to make of it, sigh. I mean...it seems as if there hasn't been any team the last couple of years who has been at full health at the beginning of the season. One commenter blamed it on the CBA because apparently it forbids teams to have too many full contact practices so the few times coaches are allowed to do full contact they go all in. But players bodies, which in some cases are buffed up to a breaking point as it is, are not ready for such a big physical contact and stress all of a sudden, thus causing all those uncommon injuries or just some minor injuries occuring way too easily. Don't know if that might be the case?
  18. Wow... "during his freshman [AT WHERE] year because". Good to see some nicely finalized and polished writing, Mr. Mink! And you actually had it in previous parts of the article, that Urban went to University of Virginia. Just a friendly warning Mr. Mink, don't hang around Marshal Yanda much, because he just said during his interview that the thing that frustrates him the most is lazyness:)
  19. Why does it seem for a second season in a row that our guys get injured a lot more during training camp than other teams players?? I mean, I'm actively only following Ravens, but looking at the NFL injury reports past couple of days, Ravens team seems to be the only one constantly popping up. Perriman, Dumervil, Elam and other DB-s, now Brown. Other couple teams who regularly appear on injury round up are Jags, Giants, Jets and some other second tier teams. Why does it seem that elite teams like Patriots, Broncos, Steelers avoid so many injuries?? Don't get me wrong, I know they have their own injuries as well, some even season ending. But it's like one or two guys since the beginning of camp. Some of our main player seems to have at least some kind of punch or bruise after every dang practice. What seems to be the reason?? Is Harbaugh pushing the players too hard forcing them into situations where they get hurt? Or maybe vice versa, he takes the cautious road and sidelines every player with every minor tweak just to be safe? Of course I don't like players getting hurt and in utopia I'd turn the injuries off like it was Madden, but that being said, I goddang hate it when our guys are falling off like leaves in autumn ant Patriots for example seem to be healthier than ever (in most part).
  20. Disappointing is an understatement. I really liked Elam when he was coming out of college. Getting DB-s ready for NFL-level of play takes some time. His first two seasons were disappointing, even considering the learning curve. But now when he's going to miss his third season, which would have been his make-or-break season, this is something more than a disappointment to someone, who really wanted to see Elam succeed with the Ravens. I know lot of the fans here don't give a darn if he's injured or not since he has been below average player thus far, but losing some depth at a quivering secondary as it is can not leave any of us Ravens' fans cold. Considering what went down last season (our whole secondary), then THIS NEWS SUCKS!
  21. Amen brother! All the people who are saying "Oh, don't worry, he'll get better with his hands" don't comprehend the consequences one dropped pass might have, or the "Lee Evans moment" as you called it. Imagines this: AFC Championship game, Ravens are playing against [insert a team here]. It's been hard fought 4 quarters. 39 seconds left of the game. We're down 4 points, on the opposing 36 yard line. 4th and 7. All wide set, Flacco in a shotgun formation. Ball is snapped. Pressure is coming from the left. Flacco throws towards 27 yard line to Perrimann who, visibly tired and sloppy with his route, is making his cut, defender tightly behind him. Now, how confident did this image make you? And this is what it comes down to. A player might not make a single drop for whole season. But when he drops that one crucial pass...well, we all know just too damn well what that can mean.
  22. HI! I'm a Ravens fan from Estonia. The only way I can follow the Ravens games over here is via NFL Game Pass. They seem to raise prices every year in my area, it's up to 200$ for the Season Plus subscription already. That's why I was wondering if any of you guys know any Game Pass promo codes that work and I could use? Or do you know where I could get them? Any suggestions would be well appreciated, thanks!
  23. Great article, Mr. Mink! Really good, mature writing. Good job! As for Trestman, I personally am excited to see what he can do, yet at the same time a bit nervous due to his instability in the past. The reason why he has had dozens of teams in his life are different, but some must have something to do with the person himself and those weren't brought up here. Will be a fun year to watch anyway. Go Ravens!
  24. That's the most painful thing, because I believe teams will be concentrated on Dumervil. So if Suggs could be even a little bit motivated, it could very easily be another DPOY season for him. But he "feels weird" and is "at the back end of his career" and most definitely "is not the Suggs of 2011" like he put it. From that first presser it seemed as if he would rather sit on his fat butt on the couch, eat Doritos and watch someone else play, rather than benefiting vastly from the fact that blockers will be tied down with a pro-bowl pass rusher on the other side from him. Smh. I pray that Suggs would regain his motivation and fire, get in shape, and start acting like a leader and example on and off the field and NOT bring this whole team, who otherwise have unprecedented amount of talent, down.
  25. This kind of attitude puts Suggs' even more into perspective. It seems as if his fire is starting to completely fade out. I hope Suggs finds a way to relight it, otherwise it'll come around to bite the pass rush, including Dumervil, and our whole defense in the butt.
