  1. Sorry, but I still can't see how Buck Allen was balling it out. He had one great play out of seven. I'm sure he'll do much better in next games and in regular season, but to start off by saying "After watching not one, not two, but three young running backs ball out..." is just ludicrous. If Allen's first performance is considered balling then I have some bad news, friend. No dissing, all I'm trying to say is let the kid really perform in one of his next games with some crunching runs and similar catches, then you'll have real reason to say how he "ball out".
  2. Alright, you're probably right. Didn't mean to indicate that Allen was in danger of losing his job, just didn't understand why some people got so excited about his play. It was okay but nothing amazing. But I'll chill on the topic. Also, I tend to answer to sarcasm with sarcasm so you can read my response over for one more time and maybe try to improve your sarcasm reading skills.
  3. In West's case I think you might need some explanation as to his low YPC. It's very true that he rushed 9x for 25yrds with 2.8YPC, but consider the following. 3 of those runs were in goalline situations. 1 of those 3 was for no gain, the other 2 were for 1 yard and 3 yard TD runs. I think you'll agree with me that the 2 TD runs weren't bad attempts, albeit they vastly distorts his YPC stat. If you remove those 3 attempts from the equation however, you'll see that he rushed 6x for 21 yards and 3.5YPC for the rest of the game. While 3.5YPC isn't astonishing stat, it also isn't half bad considering how our O-line was getting pushed around most of the night. Allen was not good though. Hope he'll bounce back next game if he wants to stay on the roster.
  4. Glad you got what I was saying chief! Accordingly, if you get one TD catch&run against 3rd tier defense you should pretty much be considered the greatest thing since sliced bread. At least that seems to be the way some folks are reacting. I'm guess I'm just surprised that some people have their heads so far up their butts, there was nothing so great about Allen's performance in first game, stop writing about it. Let the kid keep grinding and come back with strong game next week, then preach about it.
  5. I don't get why everyone is so high on Buck Allen's performance. His only good play seems to be overemphasised, the blocking was what made this play happen. Meanwhile the fact that he averaged 1(!!!) yard per play on the ground against 2nd and 3rd tier defense is overlooked. In my book, if you are RB and can catch&run as hell but can't rush for crap, then you are one trick pony who is useless because every defense will know what's coming. So I see no reason to be over the moon about Allen's game. 3 more chances left to prove himself and he must to better to be worthy of a roster spot, I just hope it isn't a spohmore slump year for Buck.
  6. I agree with you about Allen since HE didn't do anything in first game. The 19-yard TD catch&run was made possible only by solid blocking. I probably could have scored a TD on that play. As to his running game, 6 yards on 6 carries, how is that a good game for a RB?! It was only a first game but let's hope it won't be spohmore slump year for Allen. As for West, maybe you had your beer goggles on in that bar, bro, but technique wise he was probably the best RB of the day. About good RB's not running East&West, do I have to remind you about this one D*head LeVeon Bell who seems to scorch us in every game at least couple of times by changing the running direction. Running to the other side is solid tactic when no immediate lane opens up and the defenders are over pursuing with their shoulders turned. You'd be right if the defenders had been keeping their ground with shoulders square to the RB, but in that play West made absolutely right decision. Might wanna sober up and rewatch that play.
  7. I read that too man, my jaw dropped through the floor. My first thought was that has Oz gone senile?! Arguably the best/most clutch kicker in the NFL being offered the #4 money and after that the next offer is reportedly even lower than that?! Tucker expressed such optimism and contentment about staying with the Ravens. Is Oz insulting Tucker on purpose trying to get rid of him?? If the reports turn out to be true, then it's one of the dirtiest, ugliest things I've seen this "classy" organization do and in that case I can't blame Tucker and his agent for the blackmail tactics. Yeah, it's just business, but this kind of attitude is showing some serious arrogant disrespect and I can't blame anyone for not wanting to do business with a team that doesn't respect them. It's just ugly!
  8. It's probably not what you meant above, but let's get one thing straight - Tucker is not in charge of his contract negotiations. How agent-client relationships usually work is that a player and his representative set some mutual understanding about the situation which usually is "right place for the right money", very rarely do players refuse specific teams or insist on absolutely staying with their current team, and after that the agent has full authorization on behalf of his client at the negotiation table. The agent chooses the tools he uses to get the result his client wants. So at this point Tucker is pretty much in charge with saying "Yes" or "No" to Ravens' offers. So pinning the blackmailing tactics on him is not right. Having said that, I can't blame Tucker if he's getting frustrated at Ozzie's shenanigans. I mean, arguably the best/most clutch kicker in the NFL being offered the #4 money and after that the next offer is reportedly even lower than that?! It's just business, but this kind of attitude is showing some serious arrogant disrespect and I can't blame anyone for not wanting to do business with a team that doesn't respect them. Too early to make any predictions, but if Oz fails to close Tucker, then there is reason for strong concerns in his abilities over the past couple of seasons.
  9. Another excuse to crawl behind once the season starts and Flacco performs below par yet again? Don't get me wrong I like Joe, more and more with every year. But shortsighted fans need to face reality - Flacco is highly overrated. Don't get me started about the 11-0 SB run, the team around Flacco at that point in time would have probably made Tebow or Sanchez look good. The fact is as much as Flacco has delivered some amazing stats and game winning drives, he has bounced right back from those highs with 5 INT games where he looks like a high school QB. By this point in his career he should have developed a lot more consistency. Now with second consecutive year with the same OC the excuses for his roller-coaster of a play quality are starting to dry up. What a convenience that another season of inconsistent playing can be covered up by the mental block arising from the rehabbed knee. In the meanwhile, QBs who have matured into consistently effective passers return from all kinds of injuries often times without missing a beat. So I'm sorry, but I will not swallow up this shallow excuse. With rejuvenated team around him, it's now truly up to Flacco to show if he is the consistent superstar QB we all wish him to be or if he's just an average game manager who can succeed with enough good quality supporting cast but can not be trusted to take the spotlight.
  10. I really don't understand this move. I mean, I get why we tried to trade him, but once that failed what was the hurry to release him?! With Kaufusi officially under contract, Ravens were ~$6.3M under the cap so we clearly did not need the cap space. What, is Ozzie going to sign a 10M guy all of a sudden so he needed additional room under the cap?! Releasing Monroe actually hurts us next year as it pushes 4,4M in dead money. Even if Monroe wasn't going to start at LT, we could of used him as a mentor for young players and as a backup. Considering the injury bug that's been going around this team for the past couple of years our FO should know first hand how necessary roster depth is. The only reasonable explanation that I can see for the release is that we are getting close to long term deals with Brandon Williams and/or Tucker. But even so, did we really need that much more cap space to sign these guys?! So I'm left pondering if the sole reason for this termination was the fact that the organization wanted to distance themselves from Monroe's marijuana campaign. And if that's the case, then I'm sorry, but it was a cowardly moron move. The team had already said that they did not share Monroe's beliefs. And it's not like Monroe admitted to using anything or that his work hurt the team, he has been just saying that NFL should look into the effects of medical cannabis. That's it. This is not worth hurting your depth and salary cap over. I really really hope that I'm wrong and it wasn't the main reason, but for now I remain puzzled by the move.
  11. Why is this segment still going?! It was supposed to be a one season thing?? No, God! No, God, please no! No! No! Nooooo!
  12. Not a sexy pick but I'm not too disappointed when you look how many potential 1st round defenders are available at the beginning of the 2nd round. But the most annoying thing about Stanley was how he repeatedly called John Harbaugh Jim in his post draft interviews. C'mon man! Show some respect and learn the names of the key people on teams that are potentially going to draft you.
  13. I generally agree with you, but I don't think Chargers will be taking Tunsil. Read a brilliant piece on the topic how Chargers have 5+ mil and 4,5+ mil invested in their starting tackles, both of whom would create financial disaster if cut. Of course they could go with probably the best player in draft and take Tunsil and try to trade one of their tackles, because no team will draft a TOP 3 player and redshirt him. Agreeing on a trade is a long-shot and a risk. Therefore, Tunsil for Chargers would be a very, very messy fit. Ramsey, unfortunately is a much more suitable selection for them. It meets an immediate need, is in the opinion of some experts the best player, and he fits the pattern of Chargers' drafts (banking on experts words here, haven't checked the pattern myself). That's why I'm afraid Ramsey won't fall to us, but Tunsil more likely then not might. And Tunsil might be the only O-linemen I'm very very psyched about. It would be the perfect fir for us.
  14. I'm getting on board with drafting OT Stanley at #6. I would love to get a potential game changer on defense like Ramsey, but it's pretty much unanimous that he'll be gone before we're on the clock. And protecting Flacco is more important now than ever. We saw last year how one simple mistake from the blindside can injure a QB. Think how devastating it would be to see another of our seasons ruined because of a similar injury to our QB. Especially considering his cap hit (which is fair, but still expensive). Protecting Flacco (and improving the run game while at it) should be our 1st priority now. And unless we re-sign K.O with the cap savings we get from the Flacco deal, I'd be happy to see us drafting Stanley.
  15. Not really, no. It was good, simple, and logical. I'm getting slowly used to the new one, but one big feature I do miss is being able to up/down vote right on the comment section below the news. I always read the news and then read the comments from the bottom of the same news page. That feature still exists, but you can't vote on comments below the news which sucks.
  16. Off topic a bit, but does anyone else hate this new look of the comment section?! I often visited other teams pages to see what their fans were saying and our comment section was WAY above anyone else's. Simple, easy to read and follow, clear. +/- system was good. And now it's the same kind of rubbish like everyone else's. I hope they change it fast, it drives me nuts! This is what happens when you try to fix something that isn't broken.

  18. Don't know about the other folks here, but I'm mad at our FO for not offering him a job OR if they did, then not pursuing hard enough for him. He has special football mind and I truly believe that with 1-2 years of developing as an assistant coach, he can be an amazing positional coach and maybe even a coordinator one day. And as always...I'm not mad, I'm disappointed:)
  19. Be mature about it and take your line of work seriously. These seem to be your biggest shortcomings. You have the physical talent, now get your mind behind it and you'll be unstoppable.
  20. WOW! Ed Reed assistant secondary coach for the Bills. Even if he's only an assistant for now, our FO dropped another HUGE deuce right here. It's not unfair to say that we have had one of the worst secondaries for couple of years now. Just yesterday it was mentioned how much we have already invested into safeties (we'll have 22+ mil $ AND 2 recent high draft picks worth of safeties on the field in 2016), and still our secondary is in shambles. I refuse to believe that our secondary is talentless, therefore it has to be the coaching. And at this point basically no coaching move can make our secondary worse, so there is NOTHING to lose with signing Reed. But the upside is HUGE. Even if he'll be an understudy for a year or two, after that he could be one of the best in the business. And who knows where he can go from there. I can't stress it enough how disappointed I am with our FO at the moment.
  21. We should have fired Pees and made Monachino our DC just to keep him here. Pees does not have the kind of upside as a positional coach and as a players coach as Ted does. We'll see what the future holds, but this has a potential to come back and haunt us in the long run.

  23. The only thing that makes me cringe more than seeing us in those mustard-colored pants is seeing how well the Steelers are doing. I HATE it!! They have nearly as many players on IR as we do. Of course majority of those players aren't starters, but still. They were considered an afterthought with weakling defense and a patched up O-line. How in the hell are they doing so good?! :S
  24. This outfit was as bad as the Ravens' season. Many outside the Raven nation already seem to think our uniforms are one of the worst looking in the league. Now, I strongly disagree and don't understand their dislike, but after seeing this color scheme, it'll be hard to defend our uniforms. This purple-gold match might be the ugliest uniform I've seen, ever.
  25. It seems some people forget that fan ballot makes only 1/3 of the voting. So there is no "Maybe next year" just yet:) I'd be hugely disappointed in players-coaches-experts votes if at least Koch, Yanda, Williams don't get the invite. Juice has been solid, but some FB-s might have been better overall, so he might be a coin toss. Same goes with McClellan. As for Tucker, I'd be honestly surprised if he DID get the invite considering he's currently 29th in FG percentage. If he did get the invite, it'd be purely based on his past achievements, like it is with so many other players, and that's also the big reason I personally don't like Pro Bowl
