  1. Which ones you mean by the "ticky tack holding penalties"? Cause the one that that wiped out the 52-yard run was pretty much one of the easiest calls to make. West would have probably been tackled after 4-5 yards, if Lewis had not been holding on of the D-lineman for dear life, preventing him from turning the shoulder or even raising an arm to stop West. Though the missed facemask and PI on Wallace were mind-boggling, I must admit that much. But again, we should not be in that kind of situation to begin with, where bad officiating can cost us the game.
  2. I'm gonna go full Negan&Lucille on whoever is going to say we the fans are overreacting and that the situation is not that bad. We are 3-4 after arguably the easiest first half schedule, just lost to one of the last teams in the NFL, AND were not able to score an offensive TD against them. This team need full on dismantling and rebuilding and no-one should be safe, including the HC and QB. If the HC fails to make his nearly 10-year "elite" veteran QB to start playing with even some fundamentals in place, something is very very very wrong within the team. Time to stop sugar coating it, we are in massive Crap!
  3. This guy right here is the Truth! I agree with you 100% good sir!
  4. Also, looking ahead I can see us easily going 1-8 with the only win against the Browns (but even that ain't given). Cause if we manage to find a way to lose to a 1-5 Jets, why in the world do we think we can beat even the Dolphins, let alone Steelers or Bengals (remember how AJ Green seems to kill us every damn time). So I hate to be the glass half empty guy, but at this point finishing 4-12 and actually with a worse record than last year seems more likely than finishing even 8-8. Especially considering how we just barely managed to get those 3 wins against bottom of the league teams. 4-12...Damn! The really sad thing is, I'm more than sure that after another depressing and injury riddled losing season Suggs, Doom or SSS will be retiring. Maybe even 2 of those guys, or even all of them. And that will leave us witg gaping holes at nearly every position there is, with only K/P/LS/and unfortunately QB being the exceptions. It will literally take us years to get back into the consistent playoff contention.
  5. Until the offense can score TDs consistently, defense should not be apologizing for anything.
  6. I wonder if Flacco feels even a little bit guilty if he looks at his salary checks and his game tape. He should, because he is not worth half of what he is making. Considering that Flacco plays tolerably ONLY if he gets top of the league protection, we should have resigned KO and taken every penny for his salary out of Flacco's.
  7. Harbaugh is the problem, the Ravens need to clean house. he's not the whole problem.. look at the draft picks Baltimore has picked up in the last 10 years.. how many pro-bowlers are in there? Not very many huh? guess whoever is making the draft choices is pretty bad at their job. I think bscotti needs to fire everyone not named biscotti and start over. I have been screaming about Ozzie Newsome's blown high draft picks for years and all I get is grief from those who think he can do no wrong. Ever since Ozzie drafted Sergio Kindle, it has been all downhill. I watch the NFL draft and no one, absolutely NO ONE, had Matt Elam rated as a first round pick. Same with Perriman. A ball dropper in college and a ball dropper in the NFL. OH, he is sooooo fast. Yeah, right. If he is so fast, why can't he get behind cornerbacks, and even if he does, there is a 50% chance he will drop the pass. Yeah, real value Ozzie. Our drafts have killed us. Completely agree with you. And when Oz does hit gold, we let those players walk out the door. I still think we should have done whatever it takes to keep KO. We won't find another player like that anytime soon. And because we have no left side of the O-line now, our QB who is getting outrageous amounts considering the quality of his game, is so afraid of getting injured he is literally flopping on the field. Flacco would be decent, if he had protection. Instead we let arguably the best young lineman walk - the only recent draft pick who has been worth a damn. It'll take 2-3 years at best to get out of the hole we are in.
  8. It's becoming more and more evident, that the root of all our problems is the decisions by our FO made the last couple of years. Sure, there are things they could not predict like injuries and players not performing well, but they gambled (drafting some of the players they did, letting KO walk etc.) and it has backfired in a big way. Unfortunately it'll take years for us to climb out of the whole we are in because of the decisions of our FO. The reasons - cap situation, even bigger roster needs to fill after this season, young players not developing as expected, no team leaders in sight, no playmakers on the team etc.
  9. I agree with you for the most part. However, this "[we] always pick up the trash players from other teams" is not correct at all. The guys you pointed out from our SB team, Pollard and Leach, were both pickups from other teams. This year Weddle has been a solid pickup. SSS was everything but trash. But you are right in everything else. I especially hate to see how our FO lets young franchise players walk. Not signing McPhee, Ellerbee etc WAS the right move, but not signing KO was huge mistake and it's painfully obvious this year. Flacco is not worth even half the money he is making, but he would be tolerable if he would be getting some time to step into his throws. Instead, he's getting hit and getting injured, which makes him literally flop on plays and just toss the ball randomly away in fright. If we would have kept KO, we could have cut Flacco and been off better than where we are now. And yeah I know, I know, then we would not have been able to bring in some FAs we did, but then again, we would have been able to draft someone else than Stanley in the 1st to other positions that we had to fill via FA. Long story short, there has been some very very poor roster management by the front office in the past couple of years. Sure, some things like injuries can't be predicted and FO can't make players perform better, but bottom line is, that the decisions by our FO have not paid off and have led us into a deep whole, from where it'll take several seasons to climb out of.
  10. I just hope he is working as hard on mastering his football techniques and skills as he is on his doctorate stuff. Safe to say he need it.
  11. Considering he had the entire offseason to recover and then again about 1,5 months to recover after his setback in training camp, and still could not get to 100%, what makes the coaches think he can recover fully with the remaining 2 months and 1 week? I'm afraid Doom will never be the same kind of explosive player he was before the procedure. At some point and age, human body just won't regain the same kind of muscular capability it once had. Especially after surgical intervention. Even though it can happen, like with SSS (which makes his recovery even more impressive), nothing is given full recovery wise beyond certain age (which can differ for every person). I think if he does not show any major signs of improvement by the end of bye, put him on the IR and give one of the returning young players a shot. Let Doom take the year to give rest to his foot and reflect. If he feels he still has the drive and physical capability, we can always use him as a rotational player next year. But his days as a full time starter are probably over.
  12. No 1 is absolutely irrelevant. Major busts have been drafted in later picks as well, say for example pick no 32 in 2013. Even Oz can't hit a home run with every pick, but picking inside the 10 greatly reduces that risk. While I don't agree completely with The Negotiator, I agree in the part that we have failed to draft new franchise players. Outside of Mosley, and maybe B. Williams, we do not have consistent play-makers on either side of the ball. For some reason, most players from at least our 3-4 past drafts have failed to develop into great starters. It's strange, considering the high potential ceiling and great praise they received after the draft. And it's really worrisome, because soon when our current veteran leaders retire, there is virtually no one to pick up the torch, because almost none of the young guys has stepped up in the past 5 years the way we have been expecting them to - being consistent difference makers and starters.
  13. That's beside the point. I'm sure most of these 26 teams have young play-makers at other position than WR. My point is, for some reason most of our last draft picks have not developed into the studs they were believed to become. That has led to a situation, where we do not have new young franchise players and difference makers (outside of Mosley and B. Williams maybe) and we are left with aging veterans and FA acquisitions to carry this team. Many of whom (Doom, SSS, even Suggs maybe) will probably be retiring after another injury riddled losing season. Hopefully we can still salvage this year, give those guys motivation to keep going for another year or two and in the meanwhile groom our young guns into solid starters and next team leaders. Otherwise we'll be in for some dark times.
  14. Eisenberg is right about the problem, but wrong about the source of the problem. What I mean, is that failure to get into endzone is not a 1 game performance problem or not even this season thing. The issue runs deeper and the issue is that for some reason we have not been able to groom our draft picks into solid starters, who can make a difference when it matters. In some games that manifests as an inability to score from 1yard line. In some, as an inability to hold on to the lead at the end of games. But the root of the problem is the quality of our young players. Our franchise players are getting old, losing their edge and retiring, but we haven't been able to find new, young play makers from the draft (with few bright exceptions on D like Mosley, Williams, Jernigan, but even those guys have been inconsistent at times). Oz might be a wizard, but a cursed one at that, because all of his great value, high ceiling picks seem not to live up to their advertised high potential, perform below par or not even make it to the field at all. And this has been the story for at least 3 drafts now. If many of our young guys don't somehow start performing like superstars all of a sudden, then we are probably in for a handful of dark seasons.
  15. "Consider that Beckham had 211 yards receiving in the second half Sunday. … Ravens wide receiver Breshad Perriman has 172 yards receiving the entire season." That one right there! That puts things into perspective. That is the no 1 reason we have been average at best after our SB season. Not injuries, not penalties, not coaching. But because our franchise players are getting old, losing their edge and retiring and we can't find new, young difference makers, play makers from the draft (with few bright exceptions on D like Mosley, Williams, Jernigan, but even those guys have been inconsistent at times). Oz might be a wizard, but a cursed one if that, because all of his great value, high ceiling picks seem not to live up to their advertised high potential, perform below par or not even make it to the field at all. And this has been the story for at least 3 drafts now. If many of our young guys don't somehow start performing like superstars all of a sudden, then we are probably in for a handful of dark seasons.
  16. If the injuries continue to occur for Suggs and Doom, and the team shows no promise of being better during the course of this season (which is already happening with all the penalties, dropped passes and missed opportunities), then I would not be surprised at all to see at least one of those guys retire after this year. The sad thing is, we have absolutely no successor in sight to those guys. At least not anyone who can make a difference on a regular basis. Our franchise cornerstones are getting old, yet we have very few players outside of Mosley to take over for these guys. It's a result of many draft busts and below average development from players and unfortunately it will take years to correct this trend.
  17. There are so many different things going wrong in different games, but one thing that has been strikingly similar for couple of seasons now is the lack of talent and difference makers at a multitude of positions. Here are the most evident: 1) We don't have a starting caliber WR outside of SSS. 2) We have virtually no pass rush now that Suggs and Doom are at the tail end of their careers and no successors in sight. 3) We don't have DBs, mainly we are missing adequate FS and 1st string CB. 4) We have 1,5 solid O-linemen in Yanda and maybe Stanley, if he can stay on the field. The sad thing is, this list is getting longer and longer every season. SSS will probably be gone after this year. If we can't retain Brandon Williams and Jernigan in the coming offseasons (which will most likely happen), we don't have starters on D-line. Suggs and Doom should have been grooming their young talented successors already last year, instead we have no solution in sight. And if we botch another season and the injuries continue, I would not be surprised to see at least one of those guys retiring after this year. We have drafted a plethora of young talented players with seemingly high ceilings, yet they seem to develop slowly and below par expectation wise. Think Elam, Brown, Gradkowski, Thompson, Jackson, Lewis-Moore, Brooks, Urban, Wagner, etc., who should have been the next young generation of difference makers. None of them has turned out to be a great starter in the NFL. I do not know why this is so (bad coaching? bad drafting? lazy players?), but the fact of the matter is, our franchise players are getting old and losing their edge, while young guys aren't picking up the mantle. This can't be changed overnight and, unfortunately, if that trend won't change, we'll be in for many many loooong years to come with no winning record in sight.
  18. Only the fact of the matter that we would be 5-0, if we would have been running the ball. But yeah, if you call the difference of losing 2 games "nothing" then I guess you're right.
  19. "Ravens offensive coordinator Marc Trestman has been fired, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports." DEAR LORD, YES! THANK YOU! YOU HAVE ANSWERED OUR PRAYERS! And props to our FO ofcourse, for not letting incompetent OC drag our whole season down.

  21. Exactly! These kind of stats are understandable if we are behind 3 scores. We were leading for most part and never behind more than 1 score. But Harbaugh doesn't believe that Trestman abandoned the running game. If he makes statements like these, then Harbaugh is as much of a problem as Trestman is.
  22. Amen brother! I, for one, ain't even mad for the fake FG. We should not have been in position where this was a one score game if our RB was averaging 8+ yards per carry by midway of the 3rd quarter. Anytime a defense holds an opposing offense under 20 points in today's NFL, a game should be an easy win. Especially if your running game is steamrolling. Trestman has cost us 2 games now. What frustrates me the most is that Harbaugh does not realize this and is protecting the playcalling.
  23. "Harbaugh said after the game that he didn’t believe Offensive Coordinator Marc Trestman had abandoned the running game...". Crap like that makes me fear that Harbaugh seriously does not comprehend the no 1 problem with our struggling offense - Marc Trestman. West was a beast against a defense that is at the bottom of the league in run D. And Moron Trestman starts to pass the ball in a situation where we were leading for most part and never behind more than 1 score?! Trestman's play calling has single-handedly cost us 2 games now. I understand we the fans are usually much more impatient with calling for firing someone, but at the very least I was hoping to read some harsh words from Harbs towards Marc, you know, like he did towards Pees in the preseason. Instead, he sees nothing wrong with the O's play calling?! Then he's the problem as much as Trestman is. If I see another game with Trestman abandoning a VERY well working running game and he isn't fired by the next morning, I'll too be getting on the fire-Harbaugh bandwagon.
  24. Thank you for the clarification! Really good to know that kind of stuff, since I'm not aware of the mutual relations and background.
  25. Since I'm not from the States, I don't know much about the Orioles, but I've always been wondering, do the Orioles show the Ravens as much support as we show them?? I mean, following the news on this side I regularly see how our team and players sending them good wishes, participating at events, lighting up the stadium etc. All I know the Orioles have done for the Ravens was, they refused to push one(!) of their heck of a many games so we could open our SB defending season at home. This makes them look very very self-centred, considering the Ravens have nothing but respect for them. I'm probably wrong, but maybe someone could enlighten me.
