  1. Not to say I don't like the pickup, but we can bring the players that actually played well in Baltimore. Cary Williams started to make plays during our playoff run actually he was all in position just never turned his head around in time leading to him knocking down passes instead of getting interceptions. He finally escalated his games in our system (not the Eagles), and we don't bring him back to Baltimore. I know I may catch a lot of heat for saying this but can we check into a deal with Bobby Rainey at RB. He was a shorter faster Ray Rice and is not starting due to the depth at RB for TB. He made headlines in TB his first year, and last year was only second to Doug Martin despite the offensive line. He just got picked up by the Giants... I'm a little baffled as to why we don't bring in talent that has played well for us in when they become available just saying. If you can't get Ray Rice get the next best thing that may have been potentially better.
  2. I think eventually we will add a corner, just not convinced it will be anybody relevant or even anybody who makes the final roster. From the FO's perspective, here's how I see it: 1. They know Jimmy was recovering from Lisfranc, and probably factor that in heavily into his lack of production last season. 2. They like Shareece Wright far more than the fanbase does. 3. They asked Arrington for a rather large paycut, but they also know that he spent a lot of time playing outside last season vs in the slot, and I think they expect him to be a primarily slot corner this season. He's historically actually been pretty good there. 4. They LOVE Will Davis. Things could easily be different if he doesn't get hurt. I think they view him as a quality starter-potential player. Personally, I thought our safeties had a lot more to do with our poor secondary play (which improved tremendously) than the corners did. Our corners aren't going to be great, but that's required in order to win in this league. Better play from our safeties should yield better play from our corners. I agree with what you said except for the Safety play. I believe that was to do to the lack of pas rush. You can play coverage all day, but if no one gets to the QB your secondary will get thrashed. Hopefully with Suggs back we get back after the QB again.
  3. The Ravens traditionally keep their rookies, so its really the players that's on roster. You either make the roster or your on the practice squad... If ILB is bad I'm going to look back at Myles Jack and Reggie Ragland and think about Ozzie Newsome selection to take a OLB that won't start this season. Ozzie to say you were surprised to have all your picks on the board with maybe the exception of Dixon is laughable. When you have the no.6 pickin each round your player should be there. Ozzie, Ozzie, your picking high up buddy stop talking like you were drafting 26th overall each round. We could have settled for solid backups in positions we didn't neeed starters. Which realistically we did. Love the Ravens franchise, but whenever we have a problem, We tend to go out in the draft and over compensate instead of being visionaries and progressing our team along...
  4. The Myles Jack or Reggie Ragland move in the second irritates me the most of any move in the second round. You needed an immediate starter, but I guess you guys are finally giving Arthur Brown a "chance after waiting forever. He can at least be a scapegoat if the defense doesn't play that well this year at inside linebacker. Just saying, I can see that article coming in the near future as an excuse that could have been corrected in the draft. You don't take a chance on Jack in the first and I don't fault the Ravens. The second round considering you saw Dallas take Jaylon Smith should have been a sure fire sign Jack wasn't lasting for three rounds Ozzie. If Ozzie wanted a CB that bad, disregard that draft board and draft what you wanted I would have rather taken William Jackson 3 opposite of Jimmy Smith. This article shows you guys didn't want Stanley as much as they put on when drafted. I think the Ravens could have fulfilled all needs instead of drafting players that won't start day 1. Jackson and Jack obviously would, just get rid of that draft board system and create a new one that gets the best players at the position of need tat can make an immediate impact. It's not that hard, really for example Eugene Monroe, Terrell Suggs contracts are no where near up, yet that was 1st and 2nd round pick. Yet you need to get young at CB and you need an ILB right now that is ready to play, not to mention WR because you know Steve Smith is leaving. We drafted at least two players at the same position twice so there is no reason we could not have filled all our positions of need...
  5. My feeling on this draft overall is that it was a great draft in what the Ravens got. Ozzie wanted to get rotational pieces to replace what we lost in subpackages. As well as increasing the competition at CB, WR, and RB. Ozzie and company basically lied to the media in the final pre draft conference. They had a plan and did not follow through at all, so for the Ravens fans who are enraged by our draft I completely understand. Those who like the draft I also completely understand. I do feel it was entirely too safe and disagree with the first two picks of this years draft. We could have taken an immediate starter at a position of need. I really wanted Josh Doctson at WR, considering no matter what we do that is always the Ravens most lingering problem. They never found a true no.1 receiver. This year they had the no.6 pick. If you can't get the best DB at least get the best WR. We don't get to pick this high and more than likely won't for some time. Additionally have faith in your coaches for goodness sakes. Juan Castillo has done a great job developing our O-line. They seemed to show that type of faith with the CB's for Leslie Frazier why not OT as well. That could have been done in later rounds. This was not a good time to play safe. Myles Jack should have been selected in the 2nd round. That was a position of need and Jack wasn't just a 1st round but a top five pick. You contain mobile QB's from coming up or scrambling away from Suggs and Dumervil increasing their sacks with his presence alone. Which by the way the Ravens struggled against. RG3 did mess up his career vs. the Ravens, but we still lost that game. Mainly due to him being able to scramble away from the rush. When we play teams such as NE his presence would have helped a lot against Tom Brady who typically like to run no huddle to keep Baltimore from using its rotational players, so we did need immediate starters. Potential pro bowl caliber vs. a guaranteed back up just doesn't sound good to me with the no.36 pick. I understand the concern but their was tremendous upside. Just because a player is healthy does not mean he will contribute (Arthur Brown) and considering the best player available (C.J.Mosley) can keep a player like that from seeing playing time using that system. Which is why I prefer we draft the best player at a position of need moving forward...

  7. What makes the team better? How do we know drafting Myles Jack makes the team better? He may be a great player, he may be a terrible player, or he may practically never play at all. That is not the case with Myles Jack at all. He is first round talent. The problem is Jack saying he may only be able potentially play three years. He would start no doubt in my mind, but do you take an outsanding player in the 2nd round that may only be around for three years??? Jack makes the team better in a lot of ways. If a team ran no huddle Jack can play in coverage almost as an additional CB. He will help out against the screen and keep those plays to short yardage. He would be great against Gronkowski when we play NE. Hem also would help out against QB's that want to scramble which hurts the Ravens front seven greatly due to the lack of speed. You have to take into Cam, Russell Wilson, RG3, Aaron Rodgers, and all the other scramblers I predict would run by Suggs or Dumervil. His presence alone would force them to be pocket passers. He has a lot of upside specifically for our team in particular. I picked him over all the player we wanted to draft at no. 6 because he added the most to our team.
  8. I am seriously mad with the Ravens. They lied on many accounts to fans... Steve Biscotti saying Eugene Monroe is our guy and we draft Ronnie Stanley. The Ravens said under no circumstances would they trade up for a player, yet they tried to for a CB with only three int's. To add insult to injury They will more than likely draft Myles Jack, Noah Spence, or a CB with the #36 pick in the draft. Point being they knew quality CB's would be there at #36. Eric DeCosta stated that so there was no reason to trade up. We drafted a "what if" pick in the first round. If none of our OL gets hurt this season the Ravens wasted a first round pick. He will be a rotational piece based on "what if" Eugene Monroe gets hurt. We have starters at all our other positions so he would just take the place of someone already starting on our O-line which is once again a waste. They should have drafted an actual need like a No.1 WR like Josh Doctson. That actually strengthens the team because we don't have that type of WR, plus you know for a fact Steve Smith is leaving next year. They could have gotten a WR for Joe to throw to in short intermediate yards situatins that fights for the ball due to Flacco's accuracy and can make a guy miss to create big plays. Ravens are looking like the same team with the same problems. They pick up to maintain instead of taking risk to move their team forward.
  9. This was potentially a horrible pick by the Ravens. This is why I was so adamant about drafting WR Josh Doctson. Move the team forward instead of drafting a position where a player would not start. Its one of those "What If" picks trying to predict the future. We need a no.1 WR which may be no longer available. We are reactionary not visionary.
  10. Couple issues I have with this: 1. I don't think anybody believes Doctson is a #1 type receiver. He just doesn't have those type of skill sets. If he did, he'd likely be a shoe-in top 5-10 pick. 2. I don't see how Myles Jack falls out of round 1, and I don't suspect Noah Spence will either. 3. It makes more sense to target a veteran WR when Steve Smith leaves than to spend two high picks in a row on guys. Doctson I will say in reference to his speed is probably why he is not projected higher. His highlights show everything I'm talking about. Read the NFL draft analysis the only knock they have on him is his size against CB's that press. He can gain weight, but his skill set is rare. 2. Myles Jack report may make him fall especially when a player comes out and says he may only be available for three years. I'm not so sure thats what you want in a first round talent. 3. The picks compliment each other Perriman stretches the field to create space for Doctson underneath to make big plays. Meanwhile, if you double team Doctson that opens up the deep ball for Perriman or throws to Steve Smith. It could all happen
  11. Mike Mayock you are my best friend. I really hope your analysis comes true for the Ravens. WR should be a top priority when you look at the board considering the board. There are so many defensive players in this draft that we don't need one given when the Ravens pick on clock at #15 assuming we trade back. Josh Doctson will develop into a No.1 receiver, he has great hands, route running, red zone threat, fights for the ball. We don't have that receiver outside of Smith. Who know one seems to acknowledge is leaving next year. You can't keep picking up vet WR's forever (Mason, Boldin, and Smith), so let break that trend in this years draft. #33 or #36 is going to be a top notch CB period. Its idiotic to draft Ramsey when all the other CB's will more than likely be on the board. All the top Wr will go right before the CB's. There is no chance of you getting a special talent outside of playing the game of luck in the mid rounds. Three Ints, I'm sorry he is just not worth it. I would honestly draft Buckner over Ramsey looking at the board when the Ravens pick overall. Bosa won't start over Sizzle or Dumervil so he is not a day 1 starter. All I'm saying is this get, great talent where great talent is available across the board. Not in getting Ramsey and you have look around at who to get when all the talent picked up around you is CB with your #33 #36 pick. Do what makes the most sense Ravens please. Here are my picks #15 Josh Doctson Best WR in the draft #33 Noah Spence or Myles Jack #36 Artie Burns 3rd or 4th Jaylon Smith drafting the top OLB for the future considering we can because we don't need him to play this year. Especially if we draft Noah Spence or Jack. Don't go for one player when we can legitly come away with a group of future starters on offense and defense!
  12. Hey I like Mayock Draft board if the Ravens trade back! #15 Josh Doctson would solidify receiver core for years to come. You won't find his level of talent later in the draft. Ravens need a No.1 receiver #33 Noah Spence or Myles Jack Pass Rusher or Jack injury could push him back this far and he will be a starter #36 Artie Burns I think WR in the first round is a smart option considering the strength of the draft and the drop off in talent. Not to mention you know Steve Smith is leaving next year. Thats not the case at OLB. The argument for drafting for the future can be made at both positions, plus Baltimore will get a starter day 1. Bosa, does not start considering our team as of now SIzzle and Dumervil. Ramsey only three ints would start, but most likely need a few years as all shutdown CB's. I really love the Josh Doctson pick up in an offense friendly league. Baltimore would have a WR that is a threat after the catch, red zone threat, great route running which they currently don't have on roster outside of Smith. That would be perfect for Baltimore and they could have an awesome receiver tandem that compliment each other in Perriman in Doctson in the following seasons. The defensive players could be picked up with the later picks including the additional one from the Titans.

  14. We should really consider Josh Doctson as a first round pick. He could develop into a true no.1 WR
  15. My whole thing about drafting Joey Bosa is that we still have talent that has not yet played. Kapron Lewis Moore and Brent Urban are valuable replacement for Chris Canty. Kapron lewis Moore considering he is supposed to be at 1st 2nd round talent when drafted. In any case I would rather draft Myles Jack for the same reason the Ravens would draft Jalen Ramsey... He can play multiple positions...
