  1. It sucks because Balotelli is one of my favorite players. I wouldn't have cared much if Italy had been handled, I just wanted to see him tussle with the likes of Ramos, Pique, Busquets and Martinez.

Fully agreed on Spain. At their best, they're easily phenomenal. They've got attacking talent like Mata, Torres, Cazorla and Silva coming off the bench. Crazy depth.

They looked unstoppable the other day. I think it was Nigeria they played.

Interestingly enough, the U20 World cup is going on. Can't wait to see what guys in the tournament will be playing with their respective senior teams next summer

  2. Agreed. Sucks that Balotelli's going to miss the game. Italy dosn't seem to have attacking options that could fully deal with Ramos and Ramos. Brazil should beat Uruguay comfortably.

It doesn't suck cause Spain was going to wax them several times over anyway. They aren't going to be able to flop their way into a 89th minute penalty like they did in 2006 group stages of the world cup.

This Spaniard side is as legit as they come not because of past exploits but because they are playing pretty well right now and I'd venture to say they are phenomenal on the offensive front

  3. Allright.

Whast the differences in penalty kicks.  Sometimes you get the one on one kick in the box and sometimes it set up at the spot of the foul?  Im sure it has something to do with the yellow card.  Also, dont get the offsides much, i never watched hockey and i hear its the same in a sense

If a player is fouled in the box it's a penalty shot if he is fouled outside the box it is a free kick

Offside is when the player to whom the ball would eventually go is closer to the opposing goal than the second last player of the opposing team, at the moment when the ball is leaving the passers foot. Got that? (It's kind of hard to explain as English is not my mother tongue)

At the time I pass the ball to my teammate (you)

    • There has to be someone from the other team BETWEEN you and the goalkeeper
    • In other words, when the ball leaves your teammates foot, the CLOSEST person to the goalkeeper (north/south wise) should be his own teammate
    • This is based on where you are ONLY ONLY ONLY when the ball leaves my foot
    • Should you be closer to the goalkeeper than the defender/his own teammate when the ball leaves my foot, you are offsides

It is difficult to explain in any language despite of mother tongue!

Think almost opposite of American football. If a WR gets behind a safety BEFORE the QB throws the ball, that's perfectly fine. In soccer, that would be offsides.

Now think back to the Denver game, I think Joe Flacco threw the ball before Torrey was open on Champ Bailey and that would be the perfect pass in soccer. All about timing and speed
