  1. Announcers are talking up Cam like crazy lol

I shook my head every time. Verne Lundquist and the other guy are dorks though.

Did you see the first play after the 82 yard kickoff return that put LSU on 'Bama's 20? Vintage Cam. Dial's up a run which lost yards.

Then 2 incomplete pass plays. They go for it on 4th on a typical Cam pass play where everybody runs a go route for 20 yards...no crossing or curl routes, or slants. Just everybody run to the endzone

  2. Vikings WR Jerome Simpson was arrested for a DWI charge. He was arrested when he refused a breathalyzer and was booked at 5:39a.m.

This will not be good for Simpson as he was put on 3-year probation in April 2012 after he pleaded guilty to a felony drug charge.

But why does anybody from the National Football League continue to get arrested for DWI. They have a silver spoon taxi service to prevent that thing do they not?

Get arrested for something else for crying out loud!

  3. I'm not an Oregon hater - even though I've always viewed them as a finesse team, but I'm kind of glad they did nothing for a whole 3 quarters because maybe this may vault John Manziel back up in the Heisman voting!

I welcome all the debate and jabs and negs. John Manziel is money. Gametime. Baller. College football would be so lame without his intrigue and awe factor in the game this year. No other noteworthy story. Nobody is really salivating about the chance of a 3-peat for Alabama. Seriously...

  4. It is finally here!

    Will someone upset the Heat?

Will the Thunder and Bulls thrive with the return of their super stars?

Will Doc Rivers help the Clips put it all together?

Will young teams like GS, Denver, and Cleveland make playoff runs?

    Are the Pacers for real?

Which NY team will come out on top?

How bad will the Lakers and Celtics be?

Are they talking about the Playoffs already?

    *smh*

  5. Where there's smoke, there's fire.  Aldon Smith is the center of some trouble, nothing might come of it though.  But apparently he and Delanie Walker 'illegally fired weapons' at a 2012 house party.

    http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/6477/aldon-smith

This kid better not waste his talent.

Probably the dumbest thing I've seen all week. First off, why are you even charging people $10 to get into your party?

    www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000237963/article/aldon-smith-delanie-walker-named-in-suit-over-alleged-shooting

You're making $3.9mm and chargin folk $10 to come to your party. $5 per drink. Was he collecting up a donation for one of the less fortunate high schools in san jose that needed to purchase new jerseys? And then to get them to leave, you fire shots...because no other civilized approach proven to work in the history of house parties would have been more appropriate? Unbelievable

  6. Johnny Football's 1/2 game "suspension" is an absolute JOKE... Dez Bryant was suspended a year for lying about a dinner with Deion Sanders that was NOT an NCAA rules violation! Double standard much? I cannot stand the NCAA.

That being said, I still love college football.

Can't wait to see Clowney tonight.

I'll tell you what though in all seriousness, that was the best thing to happen that could show them, by them I mean the NCAA, that they don't have their act together. We are so stupid that we just suspended a guy for 30 mins of regulation. Yeah right, like they would actually pause for reflection and call themselves on their nonsense.

It also shows that they don't like picking on people that can put up a fight. This is clearly an issue of class. They didn't have to fear a potential lawsuit from a Dez Bryant or anyone else who's come from a less affluent background in the past. Manziel's lawyer was holdin' court since day one putting them on alert not to try any foolishness and he came through big time.

The best point made referenced the fact that the picture listed here: http://www.aggieathletics.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=27300&ATCLID=209242479, included a link for purchase. It appears that link has since been removed

You mean you don't think justice was served?? I tell you - there's never any satisfying you people

  8. So Browns Receivers Greg Little and Josh Gordon got pulled over for going too fast. In Josh Gordon's case, WAY too fast. He was driving 98 MPH in a 60 MPH. In Little's case, WAY, WAY, WAY, WAY too fast. He was driving 127 MPH, he lost control of the car, hit a guard rail, knocked down a pole. To top it off, Little was driving with an expired license plate. Little received a $350 fine, and yes THAT was ALL he got.

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/08/21/browns-greg-little-josh-gordon-have-unacceptable-driving-records/

What the heck were they racing each other? Clearly Greg Little's case must have had the benefit of a nicer ride given that he's been in the league longer?

This also belongs in the Stupid Comments Around the League Thread

And what the heck is wrong with you that you can't get your license plates up-to-date??? What on earth is that all about? You can even do it online these days. Somebody seriously needs to punch Little in the face for this

  9. Going to see Elysium tonight... really looking forward to it!

What'd you think? I thought it was good. Not great though for all the hype it got. In all honesty, if not for the fact that there wasn't much else to see at the time, I would have been content waiting for it to hit DVD or Red Box or Netflix.

That Kruger was one mean nasty villain though. At first I thought Mickey Rourke was the most sinister in Iron Man 3. Then Tom Hardy in Dark Knight Rises took it to new heights. This South African guy really takes the cake though.

Good but not great movie in my opinion.

  10. Not sure how the Geno Smith selection can be seen as controversial. Solid pick at this point, regardless of the QB situation. I like the pick of Da'Rick Rogers as well. He's been generating buzz in the Offseason. His talent has never been in question, so while there's some risk with his behavioral problems, there's obviously a ton of upside as well.

I saw one of those getting to know you videos on the Bills website. He seems like a real bright kid.
