The level of play in MLS is not sufficient enough to get them past the round of 16. Granted, more and more of USMNT is playing abroad, but they are still on the trajectory. Also, more importantly, MOST IMPORTANTLY, it's a cultural thing that Jurgen Klinsmann alluded to. He had probably the most brilliant statement ever...he said '...you Americans have it backwards. You put your kids through the grass roots process and hope that they end up with a scholarship...' If we applied the American baseball farm system model to MLS (obviously what they do in Europe), they'd instantly make every WC group The Group of Death.

Curious if people view Johnny Manziel as an NFL QB While size and stature have been constantly proven to be non-determining factors, hard for me to see him as a pocket passer. I don't recall being wowed by his arm strength, but then I can't say I saw him make some big throws. At 185lbs, wondering if his frame could withstand the NFL hits. Obviously he could be +15lbs by the end of the next 2 or 3 yrs but he doesn't appear to have Mike Vick speed, nor does that 200lb frame strike fear into anyone similar to Tim Tebow's frame
