"It got me wondering whether Ravens fans would ever to go to such lengths. And if you would pony up the cash, what would your message above Steelers camp be?"
I'm going out on a limb here and well aware I'm risking raking up a nice number of negs - I'd say it wouldn't happen with the Ravens/steelers, or if it did, the message would be something radically different. Why? Because, at the heart of every truly great and long lasting rivalry, there is a huge deal of mutual respect. You can't feel you're in a rivalry with an opponent you can't respect. And, to be honest, I don't remember the steelers ever extending any kind of cheating or foul play on the organizational level... So, a heated rivalry, for sure. But a lotof respect, too. With the pats? Heated battles - for sure. Respect? Well... There would be a lot to respect about the pats as an organization, but it's real hard when they're doing these kinds of things...
I would agree for the most part with the exception of Tomlin walking on the field when Jacoby was about to return a TD.
But I have respect for our "Enemy" and I think they are a very worthy opponent.
I knew I FLacco but after looking at the other article about our pasts QB's it REALLY makes me appreciate the Luxury that is Joe Flacco. YIKES!
So wait, we have one of if not the best roster in the NFL but then the Harvard guy makes an ELO based on strength of the roster and then we fall to the bottom of the list. I don't care to look into this any deeper but the numbers seem WAY off.
I think I would rather go with something a little more realistic like Vegas' odds: http://www.vegasinsider.com/nfl/odds/futures/
"Last season, Flacco had the most passing yards lost (472) due to dropped passes by his receivers than any other NFL quarterback, according to Pro Football Focus."
Thank You! Imagine if half of those were caught instead of dropped/intercepted, Flacco's numbers would be through the roof as we would probably be holding the Lombardi trophy and would not be considered Tier 2
Bye Felicia!
I want to see the Milestone of 3 SB wins in 15 years
Well, maybe I just made that one up, but it sounds good ![]()
Article wasn't showing up for me on the main page, I had to access it via the forums. Main page was just showing a blank image with no links.
I like quiet off-season news...no drama...no injuries, just let the guys do what they do and get ready for the season ahead of them.
Campanero really 5'0" WOW? He must be shrinking!
Might want to fix the type on his stats.
I am glad to see Sam Koch as such a great team player and giving us the "hometown discount". Lets just take a moment and watch Sam Koch's masterful performance at the end of the Super Bowl vistory once again:
Well done, Sam - you deserve it. Least anyone forget - you burned what, 7-8 seconds off the clock taking that safety in the super bowl then boomed the ensuing punt too far for them to fair catch and try a FG to tie the game. That alone is worth 15 million in my book!!
^--- This!!! Huge play in the Super Bowl. Very smart play and easily forgotten about.
I am glad to see this deal happen as punters/kickers are often passed around the league like a yawn and Koch seems like a great guy who is not only excellent at his job but also a great team player.
7th tier, what a joke. How many of Flacco's interceptions were because Torrey Smith just gave up on the play and either didn't go for the ball or didn't try to stop the defender from catching it? Now that Torrey is gone for the 2015 season I see Joe skyrocketing up on that list. Joe throws a great ball its just that his receivers let him down at the worst time (Lee Evans, TJ housmansada, Boldin, Torrey Smith)
Warning!: The below videos are very hard to watch as a Ravens fan.
Lee Evens Drop:
Edit: Sorry mod about the Torrey video, I didn't have the speakers on when I watched it.
Still SMH at that drop. It hurts.
I didn't watch the game but I wish i would have watched it live. The highlights in the first 20 minutes alone looked crazy.
Now if only the Ravens could start that fast in a game ![]()
Last week was so boring! Please don't ever leave us again!
Imagine being a regular person squished into an airplane/bus ride to/from the airport... not exactly roomy is it? Now think how bad it is for a football player! Good move Ravens front office!
I like it! Hopefully our players will be more comfortable and less jet lagged.
I hope SSS puts up 1k yards this year and wins a SB ring. He is such a great role model for players and fans alike and seems to be VERY active in the community. I hope the best for him and is quickly turning into one of my favorite active Ravens player. Joe's contract was right on par with what he deserves, we finally have a franchise QB. With 7 Mil under the cap I wonder what Ozzie is going to do?!
That Sports Science drill clip of Maxx Williams is an amazing peek in to the excitement Maxx can potentially deliver on the field. A dynamic playmaker for sure....and he is ours! Can't wait to see Maxx in action this year.
Oops! sorry for the Neg! I meant for it to be a +1.
OMG I love SSR!! He brings so much leadership and wisdom to our team. I hope the Rookie's are smart enough to learn from one of the great WR's from this generation.
I hope he continues to play well and we can sign him for a contract on the cheap since he gave him another chance to play after being suspended so much.
So Brady always has to know where Ed Reed is, is that why he wanted to karate kick him and take him out? http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000210992/article/ed-reed-tom-brady-kick-might-have-caused-hip-injury
Ray Lewis and Ed Reed were like the Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen of the NFL. 2 Great players playing together and feeding off each other's greatness to become a greater force. Thanks for the memories Ed Reed!!!
The "fired up" comment was just a PC media answer that Harbaugh gave when asked about Joe's response to the first 2 picks. When asked the question, Harbaugh started laughing, then asked Ozzie, "should I tell them what he said?" They apparently didn't think it was a good idea, so Harbaugh simply said, "he was fired up." I wonder what Flacco really said that had Harbaugh laughing and had Ozzie thinking it wasn't appropriate for us to hear.
Probably something along the lines of "It was about time you did" but with more adult words and emotion.
I wish you were able to comment on videos. I just watched the "wired" section on the best of the pro bowl and it would be nice to hear what other fans have to say on that video and others.
Can you make it happen? Maybe Embed the video in a forum post so people can leave their feedback.
