If you haven't seen Hobo With A Shotgun yet, you aren't allowed to post in this thread anymore until you do so.
They're all cliched, but it's done in a tounge-in-cheek way.
Anyone planning to see Fast 5?
I've refused to see any of them on principle
Dont't tell me what to do
Looks silly
I recommend "Freakonomics" if you haven't yet seen it.
The book was better.
If you want to be incredibly depressed, I recommend watching the documentary GasLand. It's about the hazardous effects of hydraulic fracturing (also known as fracking)to extract natural gas from the earth. Without getting into the politics of it, I'd say it's as upsetting to watch as Food, Inc.
Yeah, I watched the first two movies on Netflix and they were pretty good. I heard the third movie isn't as good though so I haven't gotten around to watching it yet. I would read the books too, but I'm too lazy to lol.
It's more courtroom drama and conspiracies than suspense and action. Still better than most American movies.
I also forgot to mention that the third one has the least amount of boobs in it. That's also why it's my least favorite.
Any fans of the Millennium series? Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is a pretty good movie once you get past how harsh the language sounds.
I enjoyed the trilogy and will probably read the books sometime soon just so when David Fincher redoes them, I can tell everybody that the books and original trilogy were better.
Also, I'd much rather watch a film in its original language and read subtitles than listen to an awfully dubbed dialogue.
Heat had some great performances but overall left something to be desired.
There's never really been any movies by Michael Mann that have truly impressed me.
The Birds was also very good, but I would have Psycho and Vertigo above it on my list.
Anyone here a Hitchcock fan?
North by Northwest is one of my favorite movies
There's the door
If you love Daniel Day-Lewis and haven't seen My Left Foot, I can't recommend it enough.
It probably is the best but I'd say the movie is more Daniel Day Lewis (best actor in the world) than Paul Anderson.
Well, at least we can agree on something
I like Paul Thomas Anderson, but he doesn't really have the same longevity.
Name a better movie than There Will Be Blood in the past 5 years.
Any answer you give will be wrong
I'll pass
I'd say that Paul Thomas Anderson is better than all three.
All great directors though.
Francis Ford Coppola or Martin Scorsese?
It's foreign surreal horror movie night. Should I watch Gozu or Santa Sangre?
Geez, for anybody with Netflix there is a doozy on instant watch.
Put on "The Wild and Wonderful Whites" of West Virginia. Its a REAL documentary of a messed up WV family that is living off government disability coal mining money. Johnny Knox was one of the producers.
Its ridiculous!!!! Even more so when you realize these are real people.
That movie is why I'm never visiting West Virignia
I saw Rango this past weekend. I enjoyed it but my wife was bored and kept asking if we could leave. I guess she's not a fan of Westerns with existential drama posing as a children's movie.
I don't like it when aliens are portrayed as machines, which is why "Signs" is one of my favorite movies ever
They're machines, jerk
I just watched The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. It was a pretty good movie with some good twists and Swedish [slur deleted]s. Definitely glad I saw it so I can tell people that the original is better once the American remake is released.

The only other movie I could compare it to is Machete, but it's way beyond even that.
