I think it would be tremendous if Pitta could come back and contribute. It would deepen out pool of targets for Flacco, give him back his favorite and most trusted target - and I'm more than sure our young TE's would also benefit greatly. TE is a position where even the best college players tend to need a season or two to get into the position where they can rally do what they are capable of. Just look at Ebron. He had a "disappointing" rookie season - although his coaches keep saying he'll be just fine, he just needs time. Pitta and Heap weren't what they then would become, right away in season 1. If Maxx Williams can spend a season behind Pitta, it would be to the benefit of him and the Ravens as well.

I think it's a legit reason to be proud that kickers (place kickers and punters) are recognized and respected this much in this organization and fan base. I don't think there would be too many more franchises where such a top-20 player voting would send 3 kickers in the top 20... After all, they are the ones who put the foot in football, right?

Nice idea - but first, Brady might not even be arount the next time the patriots play the Ravens (next season that is), and also, the report does not indicate there's any kind of evidence aboput them using illegall balls against us. They might have - but there's no evidence. The only game where it is proven that there were fishy balls was the Colts game. (Not as if that alone wasn't bad enough...)

I don't really see why anyone should decide whether Polamalu or Reed was better - after all they didn't play the same position. Polamalu was a SS and Ed was a FS - and both should easily be in the conversation for best ever in their respective positions.

Sure... but he's still had the decency and common sense to make the decision we all know he never really wanted and still hates - even if it was clearly 2 seasons late. Much, much better than some other big players like Ochocinco or TO, who, at the end of their careers, resorted to virtually begging for any GM to take them... Randy Moss wasn't able to see the obvious, either... So sad. I'm glad Ed decided to retire, to dodge this kind of sad end to a great career. Ed being Ed, we may never be sure that he won't one day come out of the blue again and say he wants to come back of course - but at least this is a kind of retirement he should have.

Guys, just realized: Reed may be gone tomorrow - but as of now, he's a full member of our roster (until 4pm tomorrow) - so, right now we can still say we got Ed Reed

He's played at FS most of his career. The boundary between FS and SS has been slowly but steadily disappearing though, so who knows...

Man, how perfect it would have been to retire in 2012, with a ring, together with Ray Lewis, with an interception at the Super Bowl... Tremendous career, consensus first-time HOF, at least in the "definitely deserves" category. Have a great life, Ed, and thanks for all the fish!

I believe he can get a decent contract, because he is a free agent - so, if there's demand, his agent can whip up the price considerably? Still, what you say makes a ton of sense. And I don't think we would want him at tackle, either... Right now he would be almost certainly no more than depth - and I believe he can go somewhere else where he has a much better chance of getting to sart Week#1.

Any info on why he was cut? He seems like at least a decent depth player, plus the Pats have lost both starting CB's...

That would be a miracle on par with the Mile High Miracle IMHO. I'm more than sure at least half of the NFL is gonna try to recruit him, with a lot more cap space than us (since he's a rookie free agent, I believe the contract restriction for the drafted players don't apply for him?). Also, the offensive line is not a real need position for us now. But it would be nice to get him...

Well... was there anybody who thought there would be no more additions? Ozzie's prime hunting season is still months away... When good players stert to get cut because of roster and cap limit considerations - that's when he's at his best.

Lets hope Perriman will bring a lot of ice come the camp - he'll sure need it working next to Steve Smith - but it will be worth it.

Sorry, it's my bad: I wasn't considerate enough: I saw that the videos started to misbehave and the problem (the videos either never loaded or did but never played more than one or two seconds - checked using multiple browsers on three different PC's/laptops) didn't seem to go away, so I came here to check if there's any announcement or anything about it - and then saaw this topic on the top if the list - so I just assumed its about the problem I've been experiencing. Sorry, and I promise I'll try to be more considerate the next time... PS: went to check the videos, now they seem to be working fine, AdBlock installed (though de-activated on this site) notwithstanding. So it seems that, indeed was some temporary issue, and possibly not at your end, but probably somewhere in between.

Yeah, te best thing is when you disable AdBlock and the result is that now you will see the ads - but the videos still won't load/start - priceless Well, I don't think tere are gonna be very important videos till August, so right now it's not that important yet.

Disabling AdBlock and uninstalling it are two different things.

So, you say I have to UNINSTALL AdBlock, meaning it's not enough if I diasble it for this website? Because there's no way on earth I'm gonna uninstall such a useful thing for one website - even if that happens to be my team's own website. I can't imagine a video important enough to make me let the endless sea of unwanted ads on some of the other sites I frequent just flood my screen...
