The D got smoked in the second half and it had nothing to do with scheme, play calling or our offense, or even poor execution. We just don't have the personnel to get consistent pressure against a quality O line like they faced today. And I'm not sure having Jimmy on the field would have mattered that much.  When you give ANY QB that much time to throw it's next to impossible to keep cover.

That may be true, but I'd like to think that Jimmy plays a little better than Wright against Dez. We did get some pressure on the Cowboys in the first half but it just felt different after they converted that 1st and 30.

Yes you can, you hold them to 3 and when you get the ball you score, we got the ball as much as they did in the second half, we didn't do crap with it

Even by your logic, we didn't do that. The defense held them to 3 just twice in the entire game and the last time was basically put the game out of reach. Down two scores with less than 2 minutes on the clock with no timeouts? Come on, unless we had a Wallace 75-TD, there was probably no way we could score twice to win. This game was a complete team loss. Defense has to make one critical stop and the offense has to convert on the limited chances that they had.

pretty sure he can after the cowboys score some point and they dont go onside and get it or we dont turn it over on  the kick off lol

We had four possessions in the second half. One ended due to a penalty, one ended in a TD and one was the last possession of the game. The defense didn't leave the offense much time to work with on the clock after we scored the Smith TD and Dallas responded with a drive that killed all but 1:40/1:50 left in the game and down two scores. If we hold them or keep them from kicking a field goal, maybe Flacco gets us down the field. Maybe we score again but that's a what if game.

All I'm saying is you can't win if you don't stop the opposing team and you don't have the ball.

That's the point. 2 calls against Zuttah were phantom calls (blocking while the whistle hadn't blown and the running back was not down - the last holding call where the replay clearly showed that he wasn't engaged was Joe broke containment). Even his 1st marginal holding call was suspect given that the same technique was being used by the Dallas line all game - with no calls.

Just saying...give Zuttah a break. He played hard and was key to those big run plays that we had and stopping middle pressure on passing plays.

Where were the calls against Dallas for PI and defensive holding? I saw at least two instances where there should have been calls against the Cowboys but no flag. The refs were pretty bad today.

  5. Joe Flacco didn't lose the game for us today. The team lost the game. The defense couldn't stop Dak and the Cowboys once in the second half and after those first four punts, I think I saw that they didn't stop them again? You can't win the game if the defense doesn't stop the opposing offense once in the second half.

The offense was moving the ball, until we had those penalties. Also, the offense barely touched the ball in the second half. Dallas controlled the time of possession overwhelmingly in the second half.

Joe Flacco was 4/7 for 75 yards and a TD with 7 or 8 minutes left in the game. The defense never stopped Dak and we got the ball back with less than 2 mins down 2 scores. Joe did miss some easy throws but on a whole, this was a team loss. He didn't lose the game for the Ravens today. The whole team did. Last time I checked, football was still a team sport.

I have to say while the penalties were a killer in this game, the Cowboys should have about as many as the Ravens. During the game l seen a lot of holding on the Cowboys offensive line and contact on the Wrs but never have been called. That illegal contact on the end zone on Aiken should've been called and the one on Mike Wallece should've been called. The refs miss many on the Cowboys but not the Ravens just saying.

I agree but I won't go as far as to say that penalties cost us the game. If the defense stops them once or holds them to a field goal instead of touchdown, I think it could have been different. The offense was moving the ball but those three penalties by Zuttah were killer.

Most of those throws came with the Ravens down by 14 in the 4th quarter, what did you expect? The balance of the offense was great today, the Cowboys couldn't really stop what the Ravens wanted to do, the two problems the Ravens faced was that Cowboys offense controlled the clock and when the Ravens did get something going offensively a stupid penalty would ruin it.

I may be in the minority, but I didn't feel like Flacco played that poorly today. And I couldn't have said it better myself.

It was just a matter of time until he got hurt in some way. I think this shoulder is probably a cumulative injury from getting blasted the past 3 weeks.

I have no doubts that he will play this week, just hope we can somehow give better protection.

All reports made it sound like there was some soreness/tightness in the joint but it even sounds like he expects to play.

Am I the only one who thinks Joe has played fairly well for all the other shortcomings? Did anyone see else Aaron Rodgers struggled last year without Jordy Nelson? Has anyone noticed that Cam Newton has lost 3 games already this year? Jeez..............

No, but logic and common sense have a way of disappearing after a loss.

Flacco has been bad ( for his contract) and as I have said multiple times, with play like his why not go Ryan Mallett?

You wouldn't be missing much in terms of a passer and he is a much cheaper option.

Wait... let me guess, now its Trestman, O-line, running-game?

    STOP!

All these things were in place against a pretty banged up defense in the Redskins, and still the only constant to the mediocre offense is Flacco.

I know you guys love Flacco. I even like him, but at his current figure he is expendable. I would rather lose now with Mallett then to see someone else on our team blamed for his inflated contract.

Flacco and Harbaugh can kick rocks.

Apparently, you like being out of any contention for a winning record, nevermind playoffs, in October then.

If he learned something during his time here, he learned it from Harbaugh.

Really, who cares anyway? We already have one of the best in the business.

I don't disagree. Just pointing out to the previous poster that Kubiak wouldn't have been the same coach without coming here and learning from one of the best head coaches in the business.
