  1. I have Hard Rock Zombies on my Netflix queue. Finally forced myself to see Zero Dark Thirty after oddly finding a copy of it in a parking lot. Jessica Chastain reminded me of Arnold from T2 when he asked John Connor why his eyes are leaking. She was the most dry actress I've ever seen. And if I knew yelling and cussing everyone out was how you get results, I wouldn't be majoring in Arabic Studies. I dunno who was worse portraying a Navy SEAL: Charlie Sheen or Joel Edgerton. The only person who kept me entertained was Jason Clarke as Dan. No offense to gingers, but everytime there was a big meeting going on and one of the high-ranking people would look at Chastain, I was like "Um...who let the ginger in the room?" I really think they should have waited to get all the facts straight before making this movie. And they should've given it to Ridley Scott instead of Bigelow. Body of Lies is the only movie I like DeCaprio in. I know. Everyone's gonna say he was great in Departed, but the only thing that made that movie good was the ending. They waited 7 or 8 years before making Black Hawk Down. Why noted wait the same or more to release a movie about this raid?

  2. It's a Thai film. Very whack. A few cross dressers and a boa constricter that turns into a cgi viper or anaconda after it eats a mutated cat. They make fun of people looking cool in action films. In one scene a guy says "Open the elevator, but do it in a way that looks cool" so the girl presses the button with her foot. It's pretty dumb, but good if you wanna laugh with some friends.

  3. The movie world never ceases to amaze me. Just when you think you know what lurks in ever corner, something surprises you.

Seriously, how the hell have I never heard of Weng Weng?!?!? I just got down watching For Y'ur Height Only, which is parody on Bond's For Your Eye's Only, and have officially been introduced to little Weng Weng, cult icon. The movie can be found in clips on Youtube. Just like Bond, he kicks [profanity deleted], has the coolest gadgets and gets all the ladies!

"You're such a tiny little guy, though. Very petite, like a potato."

  4. aside from Bernard Pollard and maybe Ed Reed, Q was the only guy on the roster who emanated what it meant to be a raven. he was tough, kind, resilient, scary and his play said more than spoke for itself. he will be sorely missed not only in play, but in spirit.

Not to mention he was a leader and a teacher. I think Doss will be good, but he's nowhere near as big a Q and he's just not proven yet.

  5. Wasn't a big fan of the movie Zombie. The makeup effects were good and there was a scene with some eye gore. But the survivors were awful. Their stupidity was ridiculous. Even after they killed a zombie with a headshot, they needed someone to tell them that was how you take em out. They still tried killing em with shots to the torso. Next up I have Sars Wars: Bangkok Zombie Crisis. I don't expect much from that other than some good laughs.

  6. Just finished the 4th and final season of The Unit. I stopped watching after they moved off base because things started getting a little too far-fetched, but I recently got back into it and was glad I did. I'm glad they resolved some of the things from the past instead of just leaving them open for speculation. I really like Dennis Haysbert. I think he's a good actor who doesn't get enough work. Wish they could've kept that show going because they had a lot of fresh ideas. My new favorite show, Burn Notice, is starting to get repetitive and I'm not sure if they should continue.

  7. You know Iraniasn speak Farsi, right?

Yeah I know. We have the Persian department at University of Maryland. Also know Pakistanis speak Urdu and Afghan people speak Pashto, Dari and a tad of Arabic. Reason I was wondering about Arabic in Iran is cause it's mostly Islamic and Arabic is the language of the Qur'an. In my last Upper Level Arabic class, we had two guys who were of Iranian decent and they were always speaking Farsi. I've heard it's easier than Arabic. Still gotta finish that movie, Valley of the Wolves.

  8. LOL I feel bad for those officers. I do like actors who take their roles that seriously though. Like the actors from Black Hawk Down each spending time going through military training and spending time with the guys who were there. Also the same with Generation Kill. Last Gyllenhal movie I liked was Darko. It'll take a while for me to warm up to him after Jarhead. That movie made me appreciate Hurt Locker more. I watched about 48 minutes of the movie Valley of the Wolves Iraq with Billy Zane. Once again he got snubbed for an Oscar he clearly deserved lol. Some of the lines remind me of Team America World Police.

  9. well i watched Argo.

Fantastic. Great acting, storyline, suspense, true story, etc....enjoyed it a lot.

Really wanna see this. Looks good. Even though it's in Iran, I wonder if there's any Arabic in it I could pick up on. Always trying to practice.

Do you know that End of Watch made 6th on the all time usage of the f word in movies (not counting the documentary on the word)?

Still have to watch #1. Gutterballers. Maybe this October. It doesn't look very good.

Pass on End of Watch. After Jarhead, I'm done with Gyllenfail.

  10. LOL just watched it. The acting was pretty bad, but it's a good one to just sit down with friends and watch drunk. i watched it sober and did some mystery science theater commentary with it. Also, for my Upper Level Arabic class, we get to watch "Valley of the Wolves Iraq" and it has one of my all-time faves: Billy Bleepin Zane. I'm so jacked up to watch it.

  11. My friend just recently got me a book that has like every zombie movie known to man so I queued up a few on Netflix and just received Raiders of the Living Dead tonight. not expecting much, but I will say it has Flick(Scott Schwartz) from A Christmas Story. I'll update you all once I watch it.

  12. LOL ZDT failed in a big way at the Oscars. Who didn't see that coming. January continues to kill movies. Everytime I saw the previews for it, I laughed so hard. I knew it flunked when I saw it was coming to DVD in March. It usually takes movies to be released to DVD and Blu-Ray 4 months after it was released in theaters. This one comes out two months afterwards. In other news I watched a movie that was actually successful at the box office. Expendables 2. Kathryn Bigelow, go back to something original like Point Break. Hurt Locker was so so, but people built it up too much. Better than Jarhead but worse than Generation Kill.

  13. Is he obsessed with guns, lol?

Nah but his build is a lot like FPS Russia. But he is a nice shot like FPS Russia. It almost reminds me of the Russian version of Commando and Rambo except doesn't have the body count of those movies. Unfortunately, it's not available on Netflix and the only version available on Amazon is a British import. I don't know how my professor uploaded it. I kept waiting for him to say "And as always: Have nice day."

  14. Watched Three Kings in my Upper Level Arabic class. Can't take Clooney seriously as a tough guy and every time I saw Mark Wahlberg, I just felt like saying "Say hi to your mother for me okay?" Also have to watch Hurt Locker. Alright movie, but way too long. The only Bigelow movie I like is Point Break. After Hurt Locker, her head got too big. And it looks like Zero Dark thirty tanked in theaters cause it was released in January and is coming out on DVD in March. I've heard from 3 people it was just boring and a lot of propaganda.
