Watched Dark Shadows. Pretty good movie. Loved the music. Think I might watch Last Action Hero in a bit. Rubba baby buggy bumpas! lol
I would have liked to have seen a sequel with the surviving cast. It was also jarring at first to see that one guy doing comedy as the goofy, awkward dad on Modern Family because of how well he played the bad guy in this movie. Ed Oneill and Bryan Cranston are two others who broke out of iconic past roles with more memorable ones.
Just recently watched the remake. Seen it before, but it's not too bad. My friend and I watched it together years ago and did some Riff Trax style commentary to it. The best one is when the zombies are on fire in the parking garage or whatever that was and one turns towards the main characters with an angry face and I said, "Next time, Gadget!" Good times.
Well I was supposed to get Rammbock, but I guess it wasn't at the local one so they sent Dark Shadows instead. Looking forward to it.
You support Scientology.
Hahaha omg Tom you gotta come out of the closet! Looks interesting, but I can wait until it comes out on DVD. I have Rammbock: Berlin Undead coming probably Wednesday from Netflix. Actually been watching some extremely low-budget zombie movies on YouTube lately. Some pretty good ones. Also watched Zombieland before I went to sleep last night. I'm about halfway through Dawn of the Dead 2004. Probably finish that in a bit. Just having zombie show/movie withdrawals lately. I'm probably gonna force myself to see WWZ, but I'm not sure. It's gonna be tough since I'm doing the Summer Language Program for Arabic.
Yes the show is VERY boring and VERY slow, but I am a fanboy nevertheless. I'm up to episode #892 (watching it slowly over five years). Usually watch it very late night before going to sleep. Half the time I am not even paying attention. But I enjoy it on some morbid level. I like how everything is one take, any mistake is aired. I've seen crew getting filmed, flies pestering actors, etc.
Dang didn't know about all that.
I know you and I love zombie stuff. Have you seen Berlin Undead on Netflix? Really good and 1 hour long so it's a quick commit, lol.
Oh thanks for the tip, good sir.
I like both but the movie was better IMO. The soundtrack was pretty awesome as well especially the killers cover of go all the way.
Added to my queue thanks for the review.
Just watched Dark Shadows and although I enjoyed it a lot it was nothing like the show.
Good. I hated that show. Was SO boring. I've been meaning to see the movie. I'll have to queue it up.
Just watched Road to Perdition for the first time last night. Pretty good. Had to turn the lights off because it was always so dark.
I watched The Horde last night and I was like "Here's an infected movie dubbed over in English!" Pretty good. Also watched Deadlands 2 which was a low budget zombie movie set in our very own Hagerstown, Maryland since the director was living in Gaithersburg. It was okay, but no zombies were killed...at all. The acting was actually a lot better than Birdemic, but the audio was pretty bad and the ending wasn't great.
Watched Wagons East. Disappointing for a John Candy movie. Was sad to see the "Dedicated to the Memory of John Candy" at the start of the credits.
Ive been gone on business and just read the last 5 pages, looks like i have some catching up to do...heres whats on the list
LA confidential- love cop movies, somehow have never heard of this
killing them softly- excited to watch it
Lincoln- just to watch it
gummo- im intrigued
what i watched recently
Red Dawn- i actually loved it, original still better
big fish- always liked it
Is anyone else other than me excited for the movie 42, the jackie robinson story. Im stoked about that movie and funny thing is...i hate baseball
I liked the new Red Dawn too, but also found I like the original better. Gummo is a strange movie, but I was able to laugh at it quite a bit.
What's that?
Politically correct
Bout to receive Wagons East. It's gonna be late so they sent me Taxi Driver first. Watched Wreck-It Ralph with my nephew today. Good movie. My Dad watched Lincoln and wasn't a fan. Said they spent too much time on one subject. Until mainstream Hollywood can get over its fear of stepping out of the PC world, I'll stick to the Vampire Hunter movie for Lincoln. Or just watch Ken Burns's Civil War series.
I have Taxi Driver on the way next. Love that movie.
Netflix made a mistake and sent me two movies one day after the other when I have an account to receive just one. I think it's because I kept changing my Queue around and couldn't decide what I wanted as my #1. I already watched em and sent em back, but I'm probably gonna call em to clear that up. Anyways they were the original Red Dawn and Code of Silence with Chuck Norris. Both very swell.
EDIT: Never mind about the extra disc. I read up on it and they didn't have my #1 disc right away so to make up for the delay, they sent my #2 first and then my #1. That was pretty cool.
Like when you are listening to the classic rock station and in-between The Doors and Bad Company they slip in Pearl Jam or Nirvana?
Exactly. I tried watching The Woods onDemand because it said Bruce Campbell was in it. I wasn't able to finish it. He was in like the first 10 minutes and had no lines. And the girl is about as awkward as Kristen Stewart from Twilight. Gonna watch the original Red Dawn later tonight.
Any male better have seen it at least five times by now or its man card revoked
Definitely one of my faves. And the only movie that can really make me feel good about being part Irish. And Norman Reedus. Hello! Watched it after Walking Dead hit and kept calling him Daryl.
Anybody see that Judge Dredd reboot? damn that movie is good.
Saw it in theaters on my off-day last semester and was pleasantly surprised. Bought it. Told my friend about it and he loved it too. Have the original Red Dawn on the way. New one wasn't as awful as I thought it would be, but Swayze and Sheen owned those roles. Chris Hemsworth wasn't bad but his brother in the movie always looked like he was about to cry or have an allergy attack. His eyes were puffy underneath.
After the Kansas game, I'll be watching House of the Dead 2: All Guts No Glory. I have a trash can ready for when I watch. From the bad acting not the gore. I remember when I rented the first one from Hollywood Video, I was glad the disc was too damaged to continue because it was so boring and awful.
EDIT: Yeah. That movie was pretty bad. One of the most frustrating endings ever. Should've been called House of the incompetent. Another movie that proves stupidity kills.
Loved those Godzilla movies. I watched Kindergarten Cop last night. So many quotes.
The Two Towers is on TV right now. I just wanted to use this opportunity to point out that one of the best casting calls of all time was Ian McKellan as Gandalf. Perfect for the role, I don't think anyone could have played it better.
Yeah my friend and I watched that a little bit after Mystery Science Theater'd Zero Dark Thirty. He's the one who introduced me to the trilogy because they're his fave. He read all the books. I might actually watch the trilogy over Spring Break. If I had the money, I'd get The Hobbit on Blu-Ray. Not sure if it will be as good as the LOTR trilogy, but the first movie definitely made me respect dwarves more in the series. And GI Joe Retaliation may not be as bad as the first one because it doesn't look like Channing Tatum will be in it much. But I'm just not a big fan of killing Duke off so quickly.
Very good movie. Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt both do a very good job.
I wanna see that Olympus Has Fallen movie with him and Gerard Butler. When I first saw the trailer, I thought it was GI Joe 2 only to find out it was a good movie with better actors in it.
Evil Dead remake?!? Nice. The original was awesome for what it was, but the fx nowadays should add to an already cool story. Here's to hoping they keep it somewhat campy like the original.
Nope. No. No no no no no. After seeing the uncensored trailer, there's no way I'm seeing that movie. I'm fine with gore. Love The Walking Dead. Can live with heads being busted open and guts being torn out from time to time, but this movie just looks like it's all about gore and not about suspense at all. In fact, it looks more like a snuff film.
EDIT: Bruce Campbell needs to sue somebody.

I didn't say it was great. I said it was pretty good meaning decent. I thought the whole thing with Carolyn was whack. When that happened, I was like "Okay this is getting out of control." But the music was good.
EDIT: I should point out that I was supposed to be getting Berlin Undead, but for some reason, Netflix messed up. It didn't even say there was a wait on it. And could anyone tell me if Silent Hill Revelation is any good? The 1st one was awful in my opinion.
