  1. That happens, it usual breaks while in transit, courtesy of the US postal service.

The important question is which Karate Kid will you be watching?  I hope for your sake its not the reboot with Jaden Smith.

Dude, I just ate some crab cakes. Why are you trying to make me lose them? The original is the only one to watch. Not my first time watching it. Just wanted to watch a good 80's movie.

  2. I'm quite sad today. Was so excited when I saw my Netflix got here today. Only to find out that the Karate Kid DVD was broken in half after opening. Who does that? So I just reported it. Didn't bother asking for a replacement. Just sending it back and waiting for the next one. Words cannot express...

  3. How would you rate it in the Iraq/Afghan War movie hierarchy?

It's up there. I noticed the Saudi dialect fairly well. We had a cultural class about the differences between dialects and we heard someone speaking Saudi so I was much better this time around. I can't give my full opinion cause it's long and controversial. Honestly haven't seen one good movie with Afghanistan involved. I'd give ZDT a 5.5/10. Reason it's that high is cause Jason Clark and Mark Strong. Low because Jessica Chastain's as dull as you can get.

    Yay, another Greco-Persian War movie!

I gotta see it. Deep voiced and freakishly tall Xerxes. Count me in lol. Nah I'm just looking forward to that style of action again. Spartacus came close, but they didn't have the same budget for their CG blood. I'm sure it won't be as good as the first, but I've been wanting this since the end of the first one.

  4. So i have this app on my phone that shows new movie trailers and i went through quite a bit and there is some movies im getting pretty excited about and some im very excited about...Im going to list some and i would suggest checking out the trailers

Maniac- reminds me of an american psycho

Prisoners- hugh jackman and terrance howard

Anchorman 2- nothing needs to be said here

Kick [profanity deleted] 2- i liked the first one

Captain Phillips- Tom Hanks, true story about somali pirates

Maniac looked crazy, but interesting. Prisoners looks awesome. Definitely wanna see. Same opinion as you on Anchorman 2 and Kick *** 2. And I'll probably see Captain Phillips. I actually got to meet the actor who played Nick Cage's ex cop partner from the original Kick ***. Omari Hardwick. Nice guy. But yeah I'd say Prisoners and Captain Phillips are the ones I'm looking forward to seeing most.

EDIT: One to add to the list:

  5. I watched The Kingdom with my friend last night. It was his first time seeing it. Every time I go back and watch that movie, I can pick up more of the Arabic. I really like it and so did my friend. I have the original Karate Kid coming through Netflix Monday. Just wanted to get my 80's on. Ralph's the best aroooouuund. Will Smith's son aint gonna ever keep him down! I wanna still need to see Man of Steel. My one friend gave it a 2/5, while others have praised it. If it's Zack Snyder's worst movie, like some on here have said, then I really fear seeing it because I thought that titled belonged to the Dawn of the Dead remake. It had its moments but fast? Really? Still better than WWZ

  6. Saw World War Z. Even had I not listened to the Audio Book, I don't think I would have liked it that much. Felt kinda rushed. I'm pretty sure the Israeli character Jourgan was in the book and I remember that feeling similar to the book. There were a few parts from the book that made it into the movie, but it wasn't enough. And the zombies being fast did make for some tense moments, but their animalistic screaming and leaping abilities literally made me lol. It did have some tense moments and I did enjoy that and their improvisation of body armor and bayonets, but it's definitely not among my favorite zombie movies. And I just want to end this with one remark: I don't care if it was used to bring in a larger audience. Zombie movies need to stay rated R. If the rumor is true that they might turn this into a trilogy, they need to bring the genre back to rated R.

  7. I really gotta see X Men 1st class. I've hear a lot of bad things outside of this forum and that includes my friends' opinions and cousins. And my friends are usually spot on about movies. When it comes to academy award winning movies, I'm not too popular on here, but that's because I prefer simple-minded movies with explosions, zombies and freedom. I do enough thinking with Arabic grammar, I just want something simple by the end of the day. I watched Superman Returns last night. I loved Spacey as Luther when he yelled "WRONG!!!" right in Lois's face. I was like "Say it don't spray it, dude." I'm not a fan boy so I'm not going into the new one with high expectations, but I'm sure I'll still enjoy it. I felt like there was a plot hole in Superman Returns with Lois's son.

  8. I thought Prometheus was good, but there were so many different things that went on and even though I've seen all the Alien films, it's been a while. I think I'd have to watch it again along with all of the movies. I did like Michael Fassbender as David. And wow I just looked at the cast and just now noticed who Guy Pearce was. Jeez talk about a bit part. IS there gonna be another one? I'm guessing not because it seemed like there was a lot crammed into this. I also was just out of it from studying. I liked the scenery though. I like wide-open nature settings like that in movies. Next on the list is Munich. Haven't seen that since it first hit DVD and I saw it on such a small screen I could barely read the subtitles.

  9. I gave up on burn notice a few seasons ago, it just got so repetitive. Ya I wasn't overly impressed with Graceland to this point but I'll give it a couple more chances like I did with Hanibal

Yeah the repetitive nature of Burn Notice has been getting at me too. Some of the fans are a little crazy thinking his Mom could've been behind it. I was like, "Please don't push the writers in the same direction as the ones for The Unit" So I'm glad it's about to go. I did like the MacGuyver aspect of it though.

  10. Just watched the Season 7(Final Season) premiere of Burn Notice. I'm glad this is the last season because it has been getting out of control. And I don't care if Jeffrey Donovan isn't a good actor. The Miami scenery and women are always easy on the eyes. Also watched the Series Premiere of Graceland. Not impressed with it so far. Smart privileged guy getting hazed by his peers only to be welcomed into the group is too cliche

  11. On a side note, don't ever watch Grandma's Boy on TV.  It's a hilarious movie, so many great lines, but the censor ruins it.

Same with Tropic Thunder. Saw it on FX the other day. "You! Punch this director in the face really freaking hard!" Been a while since I've seen Grandma's Boy. Loved that. Just watched Man With the Iron Fists today. Russell Crowe was genius as always. My girlfriend and I laughed at all the over-the-top gore. We we expecting the Iron Fists to conduct more epic kills, but the guy only got in about 2. On the fence on whether or not I wanna buy it eventually. I did enjoy the soundtrack and the over-the-top gore was reminiscent to Riki Oh Story of Riki.

  12. Maybe I'm forgetting one, but has Jenny from the block ever been in a good movie?

Nope. I think she was just in it for eye candy and even though she looks good for her age, that still wasn't enough to salvage the movie. I just really hated Statham's poor attempt at a Texas accent. Most British actors are great at pulling off American accents. Just watch Black Hawk Down. There are at least 5 Brits in that who do great American accents. Statham...not so good.

  13. I just finished Life of Pi and it's kind of a Waste products.  It's a beautiful Waste products, the cinematography is incredible, but it's a Waste products nonetheless.  Boring, poorly paced, and yet another example of an Indian exploitation film.

My friend said it was pretty bad, but not because of Indian exploitation. He said the end was too predictable.

  14. I never saw Parker. Was it bad?

Yeah. I'm sorry but there have been too many movies that show guys getting hit in the head with hard objects such as rods and I think in Parker it was a toilet tank lid and the guy was still fine. You'd be unconscious if that happened. But yeah it wasn't Statham's best movie. And Jennifer Lopez of course didn't help.

  15. I got The Courier from Netflix with Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Mickey Rourke...terrible. My friend and I couldn't get through it all. Almost reminded me of Parker. Some guy tried doing a cajun accent and he came out sounding hispanic. Reminded me of Statham trying to do that Texas accent in Parker. Awful. It was impossible to follow. It even had Til Schweiger from Inglurious jerks and Miguel Ferrer as well. I was really surprised these actors all agreed to do this. We stopped at 45 minutes in. Just could not get into it.
