Just watched Tango and Cash. Swell movie.
been awhile since ive visited this thread, some good reminders of some movies i need to downloa...i mean buy. Heres a couple ive watched recently
Hunger games- never read the books but i thought it was a very cool idea. Nothing crazy but i think its worth the watch
The Raven- i was so excited to see this, maybe my expectations were to high but i got really bored when watching it, if your bored have at it....
The Deer Hunter- someone on here was talking about it awhile back so i watched it...was not a fan at all.
Yeah Deer Hunter's alright, but I don't understand the hype. I'd say it's good for one viewing at best. But that's because I prefer movies with cheesy one liners, high body counts and good music.
Watched Sometimes They Come Back...Again last night. I don't know why my cousins made such a big deal out of that movie when we were kids. After watching that and Crank 2 two days in a row, I may have to see The Expendables 2 for the 3rd time to cleanse myself and restore my manliness.
Saw The Expendables 2 again. This time with my Dad since he didn't get to see it with me the first time I went. Just so many great lines. And also good music as well.
I finally saw Expendables 2. This movie was awesome! And comical!
Probably seeing it again with my Dad this Friday/today. He hasn't seen it yet. I loved it. Such a guy's movie.
Just watched The New Kids last night. Pretty twisted for its time but still pretty good.
Haven't seen that film in a while. Loved the movie but every characters pissed me off. Aykroyd's and Candy's Son were annoying as hell. But that was the purpose (well not the son).
lol my favorite quote was Aykroyd's line when he had to go to the bathroom when he and Candy were in the bar. Can't say it on here, but it was so obnoxious. I just loved it.
I watched The Great Outdoors. Still rocking my manliness to the max.
Saw Expendables 2. So much testosterone, every woman in the theater came out with a bun in the oven. Not surprisingly, Chuck Norris was the father of every single one. Nah, all jokes aside, it's a great action film. I could care less about plots. I love a movie with a high body count and endless one-liners.
Speaking of John Candy... "Cool Runnings" was on AMC last night (which I DVR'd). Such a good movie. "Jamaica, we've got a bobsled team!"
I remember watching that on a field trip as a kid when we were on a bus. John Candy really was a genius. And I just found out the day he died was the same day I turned 8. From now on I'm gonna take a swig for Uncle Buck on my birthday.
I'm going to see Expendables 2 with my friends and Dad Friday. I'm gonna try to get to an early showing so I can catch the game. My one friend lives in College Park and is without transportation, so it's gonna be quite the challenge. I hope to see the second half of the game because I missed all of the new guys shining during the last game.
Anyone seen The Bourne Legacy? I'm gonna go see it tonight!
I saw it this past saturday and loved it. Hope you enjoy it too.
I just received Going Berserk with John Candy(all you really need to know right there) from Netflix today and it was hilarious. Eugene Levy was in it and he was so much more hilarious than he was in the American Pie movies. He was almost always yelling at someone.
Saw Bourne Legacy tonight. Very good.
Ah ok I'll have to check it out thanks man.
You seen American Gangster?
Nah I like Denzel and Crowe, but I'm not on the Denzel bandwagon like most of the world. Nah my fave gangster movies are the old ones with Cagney and Edward G. Robinson.
I may go see Bourne Legacy. Not sure. I'll definitely buy it when it hits DVD, but money's so tight right now, I gotta save every bit I can.
Honestly, I couldn't get into Goodfellas either. Maybe it's the mick in me or the fact that I identify more with being an American over my Euro mut(Irish, English, Scottish and German) heritage, but I found it to be quite boring. Ive just never really seen the appeal to gangster movies. The only one I could ever really get into was Scarface. And that's cause the music was just so great. 80's? YES PLEASE. Anyways, I have Lone Wolf McQuade on the way from Netflix. A real man's movie.
Mine are Burn Notice, The Walking Dead, Storage Wars, Criminal Minds, South Park and most anything on Investigation Discovery.
Yeah Nacho Libre had it's moments, and I think it was better than Pick of Destiny, but it wasn't Jack Black's best. And I know Ferrell is better than Jack Black, but I just think Ferrell made a mistake with that movie. I will see Campaign though. I have Tango and Cash up next for my Netflix queue. Good movie.
Anyone see "Casa De Mi Padre" with Will Ferrell? I never really heard of it until I saw a preview on a DVD. I assume that qualifies it as less than stellar (?)
Someone I know said it was one of the funniest movies they'd seen in a while, but usually when an American tries to play the role of a Mexican(like Jack Black in Nacho Libre) it turns out to be pretty terrible. I'll probably get it through netflix, but I doubt I'll be buying it.
Just watched Hanna. Pretty good except for the one bad guy, Isaac, who always looked dressed for a tenness match.Everytime I saw him, I had to laugh. Definitely loved hearing Arabic being spoken. Recognized quite a bit of it.
Yeah, the King Kong reboot was good as well. Good not great.
Im excited, what a great year for movies btw.
RIGHT?! I've been saying this all year. I'm not as big of a LOTR fan as my friend, but I do love the movies. Everytime one of the movies came out, my friend was nice enough to get it for me either for my bday or Christmas. I think Jackson will do an awesome job. By the way, so not seeing Total Recall. PG-13? Shya...right! And Soldiers of Fortune looks like Expendables meets Condemned with a B cast. I really think it should've gone straight to DVD.
EDIT: Even though it looks horrid, I'm probably gonna watch Soldiers of Fortune with my Dad on Demand tonight. Saves us money from having to buy two tickets at the theaters. I doubt it's gonna be good, but there's nothing else to do. I already watched all the Olympic events I was interested in so far.
Watched MI3 yesterday. It would have been so much better if Philip Seymour Hoffman wasn't the main bad guy. I'm sorry, but I just can't take anybody out of shape seriously in that roll. And compared to Cruise and the rest of his crew, he was well out of shape. The only real believable bad guy in the series was Dougray Scott in the 2nd one, but unfortunately that was ruined mostly by John Woo's style of directing with constant slow-mo shots. I think I like Ghost Protocol the most because of his team mates played by Jeremy Renner and Simon Pegg. And of course Paula Patton. Anyways, Hanna's next on my queue. I heard it's not bad. Thought I'd give it a chance.
Yeah I forgot it too. I just wanted to rent them all over again because I saw Ghost Protocol again and I'd forgotten so much from the past ones. I did not like the 2nd one at all. Except for the hot supporting actress. Thandia Newton I think her name was.

I watched The Ballad of Little Jo on Laser Disc today for a class with a classmate today at college. First, we almost died from laughter after seeing the laser disc. It's basically like a DVD, but the size of a record. And the movie itself just had so many awkward moments. It wasn't bad and had a bit of a funny ending, but I wouldn't watch it again.
