Made it through 'A Serbian Film' last night and it definitely belongs in the discussion for THE most disturbing film. Just Wow. Its the sort of movie that makes you feel down right dirty after watching.
Surprised at the Production Value. I was expected a poor quality film, bad acting. I'm amazed on how you get people (actors, crew, investors) to buy into the film. "This is what I want to shoot........"
Salo on Crack.
Haven't seen it, but I can tell you that as a student, Barbara Hammer's Nitrate Kisses is the most disturbing and pointless film to watch in a class room. By the way that Iron Man 3 trailer looks awesome.
Exit Humanity is a good zombie film this time of year. Post-Civil war.
Silent Hill Revelation?
What about it? Looks too weird too me.
Saw Middle of Nowhere and then got stuck in DC for a while due to a metro station being down because of a suspicious package. Got home and watched Cabin in the Woods. A little too weird for me. I did enjoy all of the jokes. Especially the phone call from Mortikai(sp?). And also liked seeing the guy who played Eric from Billy Madison again. I loved most of his lines, but the plot and end was way over the top for my liking. I just watched Act of Valor to fully restore my manliness. Middle of Nowhere, while better than DuVernay's last film, I WIll Follow, was slow paced and had too much romance for my liking. But I did get to meet and shake hands with actor Omari Hardwick. He played Nicholas Cage's ex police partner in Kick-A** and he had a bit-part in A-Team. Never met an actor before.
So I watched The Raven last night. Good movie. Better than I expected. Baltimore sure has changed. Got Cabin in the Woods from Netflix, but before I watch that, I'm required to be stripped of my manhood temporarily by seeing Ava DuVernay's Middle of Nowhere in DC today for my Women Filmmakers class. As soon as I get home I'm watching Cabin in the Woods and eating pepperoni pizza to start the recovery of my man card.

Hell On Wheels lost me with that season finale. What a disappointment. Just watched the new South Park tonight. They did Bane from DKR mixed with home security systems. best episode in a while.
Just received Slashers from Netflix. Hilarious. The guy Preacher Man has my favorite quote in the entire movie: "REDEMPTION!" He yells it all southern like. I yelled it when Cary Williams got his pick six last week.
Saw Taken 2 today. Along with probably the most wrong preview ever. Alex Cross starring Tyler Perry as Alex Cross. My complaints are: I would only be thinking of Madea if I saw it and why couldn't they get Denzel? Clearly would have been the better choice unless they want him saying "Hallelujer" and "Lerrrd!"
Taken 2 was good. I felt there was more action in the first, but it was still good. And I also liked the music a bit more in this.
Just saw Dredd. Honestly it exceeded my expectations and was a breath of fresh air after being extremely disgusted with Lockout yesterday. Dredd had exactly what I love in movies: A high body count, graphic violence and a plethora of cheesy one-liners. And compared to the terrible movies I've suffered through this semester at the hands of my Women Filmmakers class, Dredd was just too beautiful for words. Karl Urban used hardcore lines in all the right ways. Pearce took me to the point of rolling my eyes with his in Lockout. I knew it would be bad, but not that bad.
I didn't think Battleship was horrible. It wasn't the best movie, but it definitely had some good action.
Just watched The Raid Redemption. I'll give it a 3/5. I loved the martial arts, but at times the kills were too anti-climactic. There were a few of the villains who I thought deserved more brutal deaths. And I know that's a terrible thing to think, but it's true. Also, the police unit was mostly rookies. Way too unprofessional. Especially for Jakarta, considering that's the breeding ground for some of the worst bad guys out there. And also, the main fight scene towards the end was just not plausible. I don't care what kind of drug the guy's jacked up on, you don't get your face slammed that many times against a hard surface and survive. I liked it, but I'll only be renting it this one time. In fact, right after I finished watching it, I put it right back into the Netflix envelope and sealed it up. Unfortunately, I have to get a movie for a class from Netflix next. After that it's either Lockout or Planes, Trains and Automobiles.
Anyone see the new Resident Evil movie. Haven't been able to find a sitter so me and the little lady can go see it.
I just want to know if its a must see in the theaters
Honestly, ever since the 3rd one(not sure which one this is in the series) I've waited for them to come to DVD. I don't like where the games and movies have gone. Too many weird monsters and too much focus on Umbrella. Wish they'd stuck to zombies. And I last said I had Planes, Trains and Automobiles coming from Netflix, but I switched it to Raid Redemption at the last second since I've heard buzz about it on here and also onDemand with Xfinity. Unfortunately, my next movie is Love and Anarchy for Women's Studies so I might redeem myself with Dredd. Need to restore my manliness.
Shining is the GOAT. If you haven't seen it and you like horror films, smack yourself.
Only wish they didn't cast Shelley Duvall. Everytime I see her I think of Popeye the movie.
lol same here. Next up from Netflix is Planes, Trains and Automobiles.
I couldn't watch football last night either. Comcast gave us a tease. We had it for a few months and they took it away after last year's draft. I do like Mayock's announcing. He does have the lisp, but he knows his stuff. Anyways, back on topic. I have Arabian Nights(2000) with Dougray Scott playing Shahrayar. I'm taking a course on Arabian Nights and the professor has showed us a few clips and like the book, he stops it at a good scene. So I decided to just get it from Netflix. Going to watch it tonight since night time is the perfect setting for story telling.
Yeah I'll probably see Dredd. Only complaints I have of Karl Urban are Priest and Pathfinder. But those movies were bad to start off with. Besides he was also in Lord of the Rings and Red. I think he looks BA in this movie.
After watching this, There Will Be Blood:
Yeah I'll probably see Judge Dredd to see some junkies get blown away. Looks pretty hardcore. Also gonna see Taken 2 with my friend. I don't care if someone said it seems unnecessary. Liam Neeson is just automatic. This time he takes out the entire Turkish police force and trafficking ring lol. I dunno if that happens, but it's possible.
I had to watch Christopher Strong with Mrs. Hepburn last night for Women's Studies class. As soon as I'm done studying with my partner, I'm watching Spartacus to get my man card back. Then I'm gonna watch The Public Enemy with Cagney to watch a REAL 1930's movie. The sound quality in Christopher Strong sounded like someone taped a movie in the 1990's on vhs and had it uploaded to the streaming site as is. My Public Enemy DVD has much better sound quality.
I watched The Punisher with Dolph Lundgren last night
Yeah. Man, I gotta say, I think that's a diamond in the rough. It wasn't the best zombie movie ever, but it's up there. Definitely something new. Main gripe I have is the titular line. You'll see why. But I think you'll like it. The narration of it all was perfect in my opinion.
Exit Humanity comes tomorrow from Netflix. Supposed to be about zombies in the old west or something along those lines. Should hold me over until Walking Dead Season 3 starts October 14.
Finished the Lord of the Rings trilogy today. I gotta get back into hiking. I'll probably see the Hobbit movie with my friend when that comes out.
Tell me that wasn't an "IT" quote, display. Ugh. Why can't I ever find the Expendables when a clown's around after that movie. And is this movie The Raid called "The Raid: Redemption"? Or is thatthe sequel to The Raid? Redemption is the only one I can find on Netflix.
Why isn't anyone talking about Expendables 2? Van Damme put on tour de force performance. I know jon loved it.
I've been talking about it. Saw it twice. May see it a 3rd time on Labor Day. The action was just insane. And Dolph Lungren was brilliant. I loved his lines in both movies. I especially love his favorite Swedish dish lol.

Just watched Ed Wood with Johnny Depp, Bil Murray and Jeffrey Jones. Pretty good.
