All these moves need to be based on beating New England. NE just add some big time players and got better than last year.
That is true but if Ozzie can keep working some magic, we can beat them. After picking up Jefferson and retaining Williams, if we can get a top ranked CB or edge rusher in this draft our defense looks to be pretty stout if some of our picks last year can step up and we can stay healthy. We have been so unlucky with injuries the last few years and unfortunately our depth has been subpar, especially in the secondary.
I know he can't block, but at least Pitta has some sure hands. I have not been impressed with some of the others in that respect. At least when Pitta is on the field he can catch the ball when it comes his way, but I wish the man could block.
One of my favorite Ravens.
If we can pick up a top edge rusher or a top CB with our first round pick, our defense (if we stay healthy) is going to be really special this year. Our offense may not be where we want it but if we can win the close games because of our defense, I will be happy. I have not been this excited about our defense in a while. If we can get after the quarterback this coming season, teams are going to fear playing us. I can't wait!
Williams is a huge part of stopping the run, which is very important in the AFC North. I am glad he is staying,
Come on....really? This kind of news drives me nuts.
True, but hopefully we address Center in this draft and not with an undersized one like Gradkowski.
Pocic will probably be available in the second round, Elflein may even last for round#3... Both could work out.
That said, we still have obvious roster holes at CB, RT and rusher. That would make it seem probable that these are the positions Ozzie will address with the first 3 picks. So, I would think Elflein is a lieklier possibility than Pocic. And of course, all this comes from a simple fan with little info - one who said yesterday that it's self-deception to think we have a chance to land Jefferson
Don't feel bad I did not think we could land Jefferson and I thought for sure Williams would be the first gone and there are rumors that we may be able to keep him. I never had a thought of that happening.
Torrey replacing Wallace would have been a nice one - if it meant a couple of millions in cap savings. But if I had to choose between the two on a similar cap figure, I'd have no hesiation choosing Wallace over Torrey.
I also prefer Wallace!
The only sad thing is that all these signings probably mean that we won't get Mangold, but stick with Zuttah at C...
Hey, he's still better than Gradkowski was...

If we sign Claiborne then I'd wager our plan is to take advantage of the deep CB class by hoping it causes good players to fall, basically saying we won't be picking one early in the deepest class in forever.
Don't say that, there are some quality CB's I would hate to pass on. I rather be stacked at that position. We picked up our starting LT last year and now I want a top notch CB or edge rusher in this draft.

The guy never lived up to his potential and he has had a lot of injuries. Past groin and knee injuries are not what you want in a CB.

I saw that Malcolm Butler is part of the trade. Seems like a stupid deal by the Pats.
If we keep Williams I will be very surprised. I thought he was the one guy that would definitely leave for a huge payday, but I honestly never really liked the idea of losing him.
Not sure I understand this move. Why when we have Dixon and so many other more needed holes to fill?
We need a decent backup so I like it.
This will be a good signing, if we don't kill our cap doing it.

Me too. I know they say the this draft is deep on CB's but let's get one of the best and with good safeties and Tavon in the slot, you line up a good corner with a healthy Jimmy on the other side and we won't need a "Von Miller" on the edge.
I'll miss Juice. I was a fan.
Rebuilding? Technically yes, but whether we do a good job of it is yet to be determined.

There have been duplicate discussions on the site because of this for years. There are MANY teams that doing the same thing. We are not the only ones. The site has become home to many folks, but so many have moved on. We are as disappointed as you guys are. I do understand that conversations about the happenings can still be had on the news side.
Thank God for that, because if the site cut us completely off I would probably need to go on medication.

Rather than venting randomly on Facebook lol.
I know, it is not going to be the same. I may check out some other sites, but I need time to wrap my head around this. I am going to miss a lot of friends that may not switch over to something I do. I don't care to do facebook or twitter. I personally have a very small family and when I am on during gameday, I feel like everyone is my family and in my living room with me. I have a strange feeling on April 1st it is going to feel like I just lost my right arm.
I feel like I was just kicked in the teeth.
Yeah I agree, we have been over paying for a lot of guys that are not producing. Between that and the guys who get injured or suspended right after we sign them has put us into a bad cap situation.

That makes sense to me, thanks for explaining.
