They could at least let Timmy finish out his contract! Smh my day "WAS" good until I read this crap! Smh
Maybe this quick analysis will make you see why this is much more probably gonna end up being a good move than a bad one
And if you're familiar with RSR, you know that Tony Lombardy isn't the guy who will defend everything about the Ravens organization's actions.
Sorry bio, I will take a motivated Timmy and his production and a possible 3rd round comp pick next draft over moving up 25 spots in the third round this draft any day. IMHO Lombardi is the one who is wrong. He did not convince me one bit with his argument.
And how do you know we would have gotten a "motivated" Jernigan in 2017? And how do you know this "motivation" wouldn't have triggered even more boneheaded penalties?
I guess I don't know. I just have a feeling this young man is going to turn it up after seeing what Williams got. He would be a fool not to. My money is on him having a real good year.
Hate to see Timmy go....but I think this is a move to possibly snatch up Sidney Jones
If that happens I would change my opinion on this move. Sidney's doctor guarantee he will be ready to play the during 2017 season. I know Eagles fans were hoping that he would make it to them in the third. If we pick him up, some of those fans may not like this trade. I think Jones is going early in the third, so I am not as optimistic.

dumb move we should have gotten a pick for him not a swap this is the same crap that happened with zuttah we are just giving guys away for next to nothing can wait for eric to start running the show so we can start making some smart moves
It's cute that you think that it would have played out any different. Moving up that far for a player whose role was being reduced and who will be gone next year is a huge bonus to the Ravens.
I agree. Get it now or lose. Theres no way we was getting a 4th round pick in 2019 for him.
We already lost when we gave Williams all of that money. We have to deal good talent so big muscle man can hoard money.
No.... if I had to pick between keeping Timmy or BW.... I would take BW every day of the week -no issues there but I just don't like the fact that we let TJ go for a 3rd round pick....
We would have gotten a comp pick for him next year (possibly a 3rd or 4th rounder) so we lost Timmy and two 3rd rounders' for a higher 3rd rounder????
If we would have even got a 3rd and a 5th...
or a 2nd and a 5th.... I would have said... man it is worth it.
Heck.... if we would have ended up swapping our 4th for their 3rd... (and ended up with 3 third round picks) I would have said... great move... but as is?????????????????????????????
I am with you. Seems like the Eagles made out on this deal. I don't like it at all.
I personally did not like trading back twice in the second. I was hoping to pick up Spence and was disappointed when we we didn't. Time will tell if it was a big mistake.

Yeah, I am a Boy Scout leader for my step-son's Troop and we had to leave for the scout meeting last night. I really didn't want to go but I made the commitment. I also promised a few boys last week working on their First Class rank that I would help them with their "rights as a citizen" requirement, which we finished last night. Unfortunately, I would have been so pumped up and happy seeing that homerun with two outs in the bottom of the 11th on opening day! It is just not the same hearing about it from your wife when you get home.
I had to leave in the middle of the 10th and missed Trumbo's homerun. I am so bummed.

That is pretty cool!
I admit the arrest concerns me, but if we traded back and then picked this guy up, I would like the pick. We could use another tackle and IMHO this year's draft is not as deep at that position for NFL ready guys.
I truly enjoyed talking Orioles baseball with everyone that ventured down to the Off-Topic Forum. From the bottom of my heart I want to say, I am really going to miss everyone's company when these boards close. For a few more weeks at least, I hope to see some familiar posts when Crush Davis hits them out of the park
God bless everyone! Go O's!!!!!!!!!
Did anyone get a kick out of this yesterday?
I think most of us still remember the sight of the mayflowers pulling out on the sad night. Definitely a dagger to the heart.
I remember Irsay telling then Mayor Schaefer that he'd never leave so what did he do he left in the middle of the night in the the snow. I hated him ever since and wish the Colts nothing but the worse of times.
Me too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Irsay was a pure liar. And one that would sell his soul for some money.
Yep!

I will never forget it.
People will always complain no matter what. The same people crying we spent this money are the same people who cried when the Steelers walked all over our defense scoring 21 points in the fourth quarter and we couldn't stop ANY team in the fourth quarter. For all the Flacco bashing that goes on he was always able to get that score in the fourth quarter to put us ahead but the defense would turn right around and let the other team score and win. When you try to please everyone, you please no one. Thank goodness Ozzie doesn't listen to the people in here. Carr is a good, solid, press corner who is a reliable player who goes out every day and is successful and if your other corner is injury prone, you need someone reliable. If you watched Dallas last year, OCs went after Claiborne, not Carr. There is a reason for that. Claiborne was a sporadic, fly around, get caught out of position corner, fooled on the double move and Carr was a solid, Fluid, press corner who was always within a step of his guy. Educate yourself, if you have access to the Cowboys games, watch them and then tell me Carr's money was a waste.
You said what I was thinking way better than I could. I actually like our free agency period so far. I believe Ozzie has a plan in the works for our offense that he will address in due time. In the mean time, he is working to make our defense as stout as he can and I like it!

His stats where awesome when he was in his prime. Hopefully he can find a nice role here. Also had 2 career picks vs big Ben
Funny tho. Jets were reportedly interested in Carr and ravens in claiborne, yet it ends up the other way around
The Jets fans did not seem very happy with the Claiborne signing in the comment section of one the articles I read.

Yeah Cowboys fans were upset by that but AJ Green, the Ravens killer, has burned our best corners.
I think he is a better player than Claiborne. I was not a fan of us signing Claiborne.
I think I prefer him over Claiborne. I think he may be better even when Claiborne is healthy.

Pughsley and Broxton.
Time to get a top Center from the Draft. Elflien or Pocic are both really good Centers.
Sandwiched between possibly the 2 best guards in the NFL will be the key.
Really? Hurst - the guy who got Joe's knee injured......how about, Noooo Scott!
I hope we have a good plan because now we do not have any depth on the line. Vlad, Wagner, and Zuttah are gone. We need to pick up some decent guys to protect Joe in the offensive trenches.
Too many good CB's are gonna be available in the draft that can play right away, also I think Levine can be a asset at S. I wouldn't block those spots with a declining Webb. I do like Anquan to come back but that's after the draft, if we don't fill the Wr need then bring him back. He gets open, he is tough, he makes contested catches, he offers professionalism but he is 36 yrs old.
Be careful when alluding to those College guys as "Play right now". We have seen time and time again that many can't make the jump to the NFL tier right away. Just look at Lattimore. He couldn't stay healthy on the college level with hamstring problems. NFL training, practices and games are much more rigorous then anything they have ever done.
CB in particular is a position you should never have high expectations for a year 1 contribution. Speed of the game alone takes years to get used to, and a lot of your first round corners end up playing as the #3 or #4 corner in nickel/dime packages for much of their rookie year.
I would have zero expectations that a 1st round corner we take is going to line up outside and start covering quality WRs by himself.
You are right about that. I was high on Sidney Jones, as a CB that I was hoping would fall to us in the draft, until the Achilles injury.
I thought Jones would be a good pick for us in the first and thought that he could fall to us. I am sorry to read about the Achilles injury. I would not take him in the first now. I am sure the guys is very upset at the timing of his injury.

Thank you to everyone who has shared feedback on this thread. We wanted to ensure we provided ample notice to the community of the shutdown and originally felt that 3+ weeks was suitable. Also, with the NFL calendar now spanning 12 months, we realize that there is no "best" time to sunset the boards. However, with the amount of chatter that occurs during the free agency period and draft, we understand that March 31 may not be the ideal time to close the discussion.
With that in mind, we have decided to leave the message boards up and running through the draft. The new shutdown day will be Friday, May 5 -- one week following the NFL Draft. We realize that many will still be upset that the board is closing, but we hope this provides members an opportunity to continue the ongoing dialogue during this busy time of year.
Thanks for the extra time. I really enjoy being on the boards during the draft!!!

If that happens then I will completely change my opinion on this trade and sing praises to Ozzie. It seems a little too good to be true that the draft fall in line like that but you did get my hopes up a little.
