Yeah I remember all those tents set up in lots around the Baltimore Area after we won Super Bowl XXXV. I remember buying a "Who Let the Dogs Out?" t-shirt in a grocery store right before the game. lol My worst episode of throwing things was coming home from a long trip and I was listening to a game on Sirius radio. We were playing Jacksonville and I thought it was a game we were going to win easy and they kept hanging around and taking the lead back. Our offense kept turning the ball over and I kept getting angrier and angrier. When we lost the lead again late in the 4th quarter, I ripped the radio off the windshield and threw it against the dashboard and split the plastic on the dashboard. It was an old beater car, so it was not a big deal, and thank God the radio was not damaged, but my wife was so mad at me and I felt so bad and wished so hard that I could take back what I had done. I was just so frustrated by the game and let my emotions get the best of me. It was a while ago and my memory is cloudy, but I think we may have actually won that game at the end or in OT. I did learn a lesson from that and if I ever start getting that angry now over a game I turn it off or walk away. I have not thrown anything since that day.
A side note: My Steelers wife hates Tom Brady and the Patriots. She was so mad when the Patriots tied the game in the Super Bowl against the Falcons she turned off the TV and went to bed. She was so bitter! She did not want Tom Brady to have more wins than Terry Bradshaw or Joe Montana (a hero of hers). I (of course) understood her point of view, but I did not have as much skin in the game, as I did not want Matt Ryan to get a Super Bowl ring either because I think it is awesome that Joe Flacco (the quarterback taken after Matt Ryan in the draft) has one but the great "Matty Ice" does not. As much as I dislike Brady, I also dislike hearing about the Steelers six Lombardi's from my Raven-hating in-laws. So if the Patriots ever do win one more, I won't be happy about it, but it wouldn't kill me as bad as it would those Steelers fans!
The only other time I had an incident was during the "Mile High Miracle Game." I was in a bar in Southern Delaware (which is actually Eagles country) with my Ravens gear and my wife was in all her Steelers gear (of course). This guy across the bar was in a Romanowski Bronco's jersey and he was drunk and just started starring at me and talking trash. I can't express in words what a loud mouth jerk this guy was and do it justice. I just ignored him because I am not a good trash talker because I go right to "let's take it outside" (when it comes to these kind of drunk jerks) and I had a few drinks myself. However, he was ticking off my wife (who had my back) with his trash talking and she started giving it to the guy about wearing the jersey of a player who spit on a guy. So of course it just escalated and just got worse when it looked like the Ravens were done. I kept calm even though I never wanted the Ravens to win a game so badly in my life! Well the rest is history, Jacoby's catch and our win in OT. Because of the situation, for me, that was the greatest Ravens win of all time (Super Bowls included), because after all that trash talk and disrespect to my wife it was now my turn because he was at the back of the bar and had to walk toward me! So I stood by the door and stared directly at him and said, "Hey mouth what have you got to say now?" The guy kept his eyes at the floor and gently scooted around me and went to his car and didn't say a word. Whoever coined the old English proverb, "He who laughs last, laughs best" was sooooooo damn right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
