Wow just got back from Pittsburgh last night after being up at the in-laws since Christmas Day, so I did not hear about Paul Blair as I had no computer access. I am so depressed. I got a baseball signed by him at the Shorebirds game this summer. What a great guy. I told him that I remembered when he beat Al Bumbry in that race they had around the bags, he got a big kick out of that. He will be missed. Rest in peace my good man.

The only good thing about Peter Angelos is that he has not tried to move the team to another city, thank God!

This whole Balfour thing just has me discouraged. We are the laughing stock of MLB again, it did not take long.

Thank God we got Balfour, I just could stand another season of Johnson as our closer. He was brutal to watch and with all the saves he cost us, no wonder we could not make the playoffs. I hate the Yankees! Not sad to see Roberts go, they guy had a problem staying healthy, but knowing our luck he will now have his best year. BTW, did I mention that I hate the Yankees?

I can click and type and even add a smiley face every once in a while but that is the extent of it. I will even post some pics of my other rides. The purple escort station wagon was my wife's grandfathers car and it was sentimental to her. When he died I bought it to keep it in the family and brought it back to Baltimore to use as my beater car to drive into the Northeastern District Stationhouse. Trust me, as a police officer, you don't want to drive anything super nice around the streets of Baltimore on a daily basis. Although, I have to admit, the city has been trying to improve that with operation "orange cone." But anyone who lives or works in Baltimore CIty and drives it daily knows that it can be hard on a vehicle. I put a lot of miles on that car! My wife tells me the story of the day he bought it back in Pittsburgh. She went with him and he said to her, "What do you think of it?" and she replied, "But Pap, it's purple!" and she said his reply was "I know ain't it great!"

In my driveway is a 1989 Ford Escort Station Wagon, but it is PURPLE baby! Thank God, I have a 1966 Shelby 427SC replica in my garage along with a 1971 Chevrolet SS Nova. Gumball!
