  1. I agree that we need a better Center and that is a position that you need veteran experience. Mangold if healthy would really help solidify our line but I just worry about that ankle. He missed 8 games was placed on IR and said he needed surgery and now he is saying that he does not need the surgery because rehab went well. That concerns me.
  2. Yeah it is not going to happen. I am not sure if we resigned Williams and Wagner that we would even have enough money to sign anyone else. I am kind of hoping we sign a top CB with our #1 pick to play along side Jimmy and move Young into the slot. I know they say that the CB is pretty deep this year and if we went with a CB with our #1 we may be missing out on an edge rusher, but I am tired of getting beat by Antonio Brown and AJ Green if a healthy Jimmy is not lined up on them.
  3. If we could find a upgrade for Zuttah, sign Pierre Garcon, and possibly keep Brandon Williams and Wagner, I would be extremely happy. You possibly throw in Amoukamora and I would be jumping for joy, but in reality we do not have that kind of cap room. I just hope Ozzie works a little magic for us.
  4. I am worried about this coming season. We have so many holes to fill. We need another CB, an edge pass rusher, a good linebacker to replace Orr, a #1 WR (Perriman is not there yet), possibly a RT and Nose Tackle and backup QB, and IMHO a better Center. We don't have much cap space and I don't trust our drafting ability anymore. That leaves some plug and play with backups from last season that I was not impressed with. God forbid we have a lot of injuries because we do not have a lot of quality depth. Hopefully, we have players that make giant leaps when they are asked to step up, but I don't have faith in some of our coaching staff to get them there. Hoping Ozzie can work some of his 'Old Magic' and has a great draft, free agency, and maybe another decent trade or two, because IMHO we really need him to!!!!!
  5. Glad to see Ubaldo pitched well yesterday, but is anyone else a little concerned about the lack or runs we are scoring? I see some of the insane runs some of the other teams are having. I think one team scored 19 and another 15 runs this week. I know there is all kinds of reasons for this (that I do understand), but we are not putting up very much lately, although we are not giving up those high number of runs either, so I guess that is a good sign - although I think we are a minus 4 right now in RS v RA.
  6. Back in the win column with homers by Adam and Manny.
  7. Elam is just plain stupid running around with drugs and his timing is going to cost him big. Glad we are moving on, the guy has been disappointing on and off the field.
  8. There are so many good sports movies. One recently that I enjoyed was "Trouble with the Curve."
  9. We got the win and the shutout..........nice!!!!!!
  10. I would love to see Pierre Garcon in purple and black! Victor Cruz has not been the same after his injury, I hope we pass on him.
  11. No, he is not the strong possession receiver that I covet.
  12. Those new video boards are going to be awesome!!!!!!!
  13. Honestly, I think they do a wonderful job evolving. They do a great job in the draft, considering they always draft in the late rounds due their good performance. I don't care for the fact that they have been caught cheating and IMHO they have exploited some loop holes in some of the rules that I don't necessarily feel was in the spirit of the game, but other than that I have to admit that I am a little jealous of how well that team is run and all the success they had. Just about every team that reaches the Super Bowl drops off in a year or two after, but the Patriots have reached the AFC Championship Game for the last six years in a row. I know Tom Brady is a great quarterback but even when he does not play because of injury or suspension, it seems his backup does not miss a beat. Also, some players that get into trouble with other teams seem to turn things around when they go to the Patriots. Even if you hate the Patriots, you have to admit that is impressive.
  14. IMHO, I know they say defense wins championships, but in this day and age, that is very difficult. Defenses are just too hindered in today's game like they never used to be in the past. There are some teams that, when healthy, can really get after the quarterback (like Denver a few years ago) and some teams that have a very good secondary (like Seattle a few years ago), but I don't think we will ever see another Super Bowl ever again where a defense holds an offense to zero points like the Ravens did in Super Bowl 35. It just won't happen. You can have the #1 run stopping defense in the league and a pretty good pass rush, but if your secondary is average it is going to be tough beating a team like the Patriots. You absolutely need an offense that can constantly keep putting up points.
  15. You really can't go by a head to head comparison. They played twice, Ryan edging Joe in the first meeting and Joe whipping him good in the second.
  16. I agree, Flacco has not had the best few years but I think Flacco did something 4 years ago that was way more impressive than what Ryan has ever done in his career. Whether he can ever do it again is another story. At the present time, yes Ryan has played better..
  17. I will say what Flacco did four years ago was incredible. He was 13 TDs and 0 Ints in the playoffs and won on the road at Denver against Peyton and New England against Brady. It is not a fair comparison to compare Flacco to Ryan. Ryan has had some of the best offensive weapons in the game. Flacco has been hampered by the likes of Cam Cameron and Marc Trestman. Ryan plays in a dome in a weak division. Flacco plays in elements in the AFC North. It is just not fair to compare their regular seasons to each other, because if Ryan was a Raven, I doubt he would have that stats he does as a Falcon. He may not have even brought us a Lombardi if he was a Raven. I wish people would stop with the Ryan is better than Flacco talk.
  18. Thanks I wasn't sure.
  19. Does anyone know how many other Super Bowls were won in overtime?
  20. Congratulations brother. My stepson is so happy right now.
  21. Why he gave up the run in the second half when it was so effective in the first and they were down by three scores is confusing.
  22. Pats won the toss and they have the momentum, not good for the Falcons.
  23. True and if they make a mistake New England could win in regulation.
  24. OMG I can't believe this!!!!!!!!!!!
