This still sucks, just sayin
1 hour ago, The Raven said:Just a small part? There's a very large part of me that wishes that. As much as he sometimes gets needlessly cute and sophisticated, he's aggressive as hell, creative, innovative, and uses his players well.
Another part of it is I think we suck at self scouting. I really don't think we're that good at evaluating our own guys and analyzing what they do.
Exactly.
Evaluating the current talent we have, should be the TOP PRIORITY this off, season. What do these playmakers we have do best?
Why didnt Wallace work out in Minnesota? He was not used correctly to his skill level.
For the love of Pete, create plays that take into account the players strengths, get the ball into the hands of these playmakers, where they can actually help you score, and win.
Another poster was exactly right, when he said we constantly try and complicate things by trying to get players to do things they do not do well.
Kiss program, keep it simple stupid

Bush league redsux throwing at mannys head
Probably because our wr's are not targeted as much as our backs are on the checkdowns, our fav passing play
Congrats Kevin Gausman, every meatball you keep throwing the Redsox right down the middle of the plate gets raked, well done
Well, since the boards are closing soon, this may your last opportunity to give some feedback to Marty, our latest in a long line of Harbaugh OC's.
Honestly, if we see another steady diet of checkdown offense, he wont make it past the BYE. Some call it the West Coast Offense. The problem here, is Joe is not a west coast Qb, square peg in round hole.
Joe has won a ring already, throwing deep passes, we brought in Perriman to get past defenders, only to check down to Juice.
We used to see curls, deep crosses, outs, (to Mason, Boldin, Torrey) and now its a checkdown offense.
Marty needs to be watching past tape on Joe, sees what he does well, draw up similar plays, and build the offense around that. Play to your players strengths, not make players play to your play calls.
I did like the frequent crossing routes Marty used last season, but for whatever reason, we abandoned almost every other possible route options Joe used to have called from previous OC's, and that actually worked. Lets see some creativity this year, not predictabile vanilla offense, lets see Joe change plays at the los, based on what the D is showing him. Lets see some growth from our Franchise QB, and an OC who can call plays based on the personnell he has, not what he wants to do. Thoughts?

Do you really think they're having a tough time selling tickets? (Hint: an empty seat doesn't mean the ticket wasn't sold).
Fans just talk about outrage. They rarely actually do anything about it.
Except instead of watching bad football, change the channel on their big screen
So i am guessing once the boards close, there will be no one left to hold the team accountable to the fans that support them. Its just business right? Why give a beep?

Go see the freakout on FB about the Jernigan trade and you'll realize how much more stupid shutting down this message board is. This is about as close as engaging in the ways they want us to as they will get. By closing the boards, your shutting down THE major social community you have. Then the draft will come and it will be worse because instead of engaging in football talk about the draft picks, it will be random comments one after the other without any football talk at all. While having all the social media is great, shutting down one form of a community(message board) and having one less way to communicate with fans is terrible. You should be looking at ADDING more ways to communicate and interact with fans, not removing ways.
Its moving toward the democratic peoples republic of the baltimore ravens, message to fans: just bring your money, thats all that matters
Is the 2015 Ravens draft class the reason we did not make the playoffs last year?
I was reading the press box article of the unsuccessful 2015 Ravens draft class, and I saw some commentary from it that spoke volumes to me, here is the excerpt paragraph:
"More than once last season, first with departed Marc Trestman and then later with current offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg, Flacco pleaded for the team to get more aggressive with deep throws."
I honestly think this comment speaks to where Joe is as a leader on this team.
Why can Joe not check out of plays, and call a deep route, (we know damn skippy that Rodgers would, Brady would, even Rivers, Ryan probably Stafford too),
At a certain point, if you are the highest paid player on the team, and you think a deep play call is in order, and now I am guessing this has been the case often now, why are you standing by and not doing anything about it?
This offseason has to be working on play calls that fit the offensive pieces you have, not more of square peg in round hole. The offensive straregy must improve, not CHECKDOWN EVERY PLAY,
We became very predictable last year, and rarely used the entire route tree.
Just being healthy, just aint gonna cut it.
You have to be a contributor, aka Tavon Young. You have to step up when given the shot, or sadly you will end up like Kapron Lewis-Moore.
Lets hope KAFUSI Can challenge for a spot with Suggs aging, and I dont mean a bench spot
Obviously this answer may vary depending on position, so to clarify, lets go Position, then Top Criteria this position player must posess in your opinion.
I am going to go first, I will say if we go Inside linebacker, my top criteria would be HEART, Speed, and instincts.
I have seen a lot of tall athletic linebackers over the years, that had the height, athleticizm, and the look, but lacked the heart to dominate.
Undersized backers like our own Ray Ray, even Derek Brooks, that had heart and desire, which trumped everything else.
Who will be hiking the ball to Joe? Kinda important
What is boardhost?
We need another Hawaiian, cause after Ngata left, we started sucking!
Can always look for one at Uncles in Fallston! http://www.eatatuncles.com/
I found some qb stats, in 2016 inside the 10, Joe was 13 for 27, 9td's and 1 pick,
Inside the 20, Joe was 44 for 76, 14 td's, 3 picks, and ranked 17th. I would say this is below expectations, for what we are paying him.
Refrence:
What Ray Ray had you cant teach....Heart.....its what Buck refers to as "want to", and an ibtangible we should be seeking in the draft....Boldin had it too
This announcement still sucks, while I can still voice my opinion, btw
Anybody know what Joes RedZone scoring percentage was? I saw on Nfl network Mariota had the highest at 97%, Brady was at 88%
My man wants a ring. He knows you get one by beating Brady. You need a defense to do that. This was a team win here. I bet Weddle has a plan for his dream defense, and it started here
On 3/14/2017 at 5:58 PM, purpletide said:Expanding on the veteran thing, I also like that we can get guys like Weddle to teach the defensive rookies we bring in. I think we'll try our best to keep Lewis at G if we can though, but it has yet to be seen that we can spare that.
Seems unlikely now with Wagner gone. Actually, Wagner, Zuttah, and Ducasse gone, K.O. last year, no wonder Joe is under constant pressure, its a revolving door on the Oline, and you never have money to resign the good ones, so every year you ALWAYS need to draft Olinemen
More like, WHO IS HIKING THE BALL to Joe?
Every year we do not make the playoffs is a rebuilding year. Bad contracts, cap hell, bad high round pivks up to last year, has gotten us into trouble.
I like the fact that we are bringing free agents like Weddle who have football brains along with talent.
We should be looking for intelligent players on every level of our team.
I would like to see a top pass rush prospect, a top center, a top cb, and a top wr to boost this team over the hump.
I think with Zuttah getting a probowl nod as 5th in a field of 5, getting pancaked and pushed around during the reg season, gives a false sense of security.
A top Center will make this team go both in the running game, and passing game. Alex Lewis will most likely go to Rt, a guard pickup would help too.

Or the ability of the qb to find the open read, and not have tunnel vision on his primary target, or.....to not see the safety to his left overloading the line, enroute to a safety blitz, but having blinders on, and not checking out of the play call, or calling a different protection
