    It can vary.  Most get 3 year deals but that's more of just a placeholder more than anything.  Bonuses typically don't exceed $12,500, so that's all the dead money there is.  If they actually make the team, I believe the contract essentially voids since they have a year of service time and thus, require the higher salary mandated by the league.

    I am surprised.  I mean we start TC with what ?  90 some players and then cut that down to 53, many of those cut had three year deals ?

    I am not doubting you it just surprised me.

    I mean this guy comes on the roster and he really doesnt have a shot but they are giving him a chance any way. He gets a three year.

    So they cut him after TC all he gets is what he got in TC ? ( unless there is an "injury settlement " which I am familiar with )

    I have a question.
    The front page on BR.com says we signed 17 UDFA's.

     

    Generally what do those contracts look like.

    I mean I am sure its the usual legal document 8.5 X 14 but how are they structured.

    One year rookie minimum ?  Six months?  Any incentives to speak of ?

    We shouldn't have any hard feelings toward him.

     

    1.) We invested literally NOTHING into him

     

    2.) Not like we were expected to heavily rely on him

     

    3.) It's not like he did it in the middle of TC or something. He did it before workouts even started.

     

    4.) I certainly wouldn't want someone on the team if their heart isn't into it.

     

    I really do wish nothing but the best for Rolando and hope he finds something else that ignites the passion inside of him.

     

     

    Bumped for truth. Especially number four.

     

    I cant believe so many are bashing him.

    We lost NOTHING.

    If he did this mid season I can see being angry.  Even in training camp, I get it.

    The consequences of him retiring right now  if zero point zero.

    I'm doing my best to keep this thread from dying. But somehow it doesn't seem to be catching on like the Cat thread.

    Edit: It seemed like a big hit at first, but now it seems as though everyone has pretty much forgotten about it.
