Michale will be on a team next season.
He never set the world on fire, but he really didnt suck either.
He is a decent guy. I am glad he got a ring with us.
I actually feel pretty bad for their fans. They're a dedicated and loyal bunch, they deserve better.
Quite the contrast hunh ?
Here some positive news for this thread, well positive news for Beast Mode. The NFL will NOT fine him for his actions at media day and his hat choices.
good to hear. After that loss any thing like that would be salt in the wound....
and yet we have posters here that.....
never mind. Its simply not worth it. Spoiled fans will remain spoiled fans.
And you have no idea how much we've removed.
...and I for one appreciate it.
What's "a few ticks", exactly?
It likely holds a different meaning if you work for the bomb squad.
I saw the name before, not in the fine context though
Thats the price I pay for skimming and not reading.
In my defense I did say "I cant believe "
A new name for the team.
I cant believe no one thought of it sooner.
Its so obvious.
The New England Deflateriots.
K-Dog, just out of curiosity how long did it take to deflate the ball you were using?
Its tough to give an accurate answer. First because I didnt time it. Second the air gauge I used has a release valve that, if you squeeze hard it comes out fast, if you squeeze light it comes out slow.
That said, the first time I let the air out I squeezed the valve all the way and a ton of air came out. I had to re-inflate to get up to 10.5.
So an easy answer to your question would be, you can deflate by two psi in about one or two seconds.
Your experiment, although appreciated, was not complete - doesn't show how vigorous rubbing of the football forces the bladder into equilibrium at half time break.
Those things you listed have nothing to do with the pressure.
^^^ LOVE the sig.
I just don't get why people just poo poo the fact that these balls were about 2 lbs. lighter than regulation... and state it's "no big deal"... IT IS... Plain and Simple... It's a rule. The rule is there for a reason... That reason is that balls inflated to less than that are easier to grasp. Easier to throw, Easier to catch... Plain and simple.
The rule is 12.5 to 13.5.... Not 10.5
Just for giggles and grins I tried this experiment.
I used my DIGITAL tire pressure gauge.

Inflated a NON REGULATION football to exactly 12.5 psi, squeezed it. Then deflated exactly 2 psi. Squeezed it again. The difference was remarkable. I then re-inflated it to 13.5, squeezed, then down to 12.5, I could still tell a difference.
12.5 was pretty dag gone rock hard let me tell you. 10.5 is just on the hair of being soft. I can ABSOLUTELY see the benefit in a football with 10.5 psi. 13.5 could do some serious damage.
Again I will conceed, this test was NOT performed on a regulation football, take the results for what they are worth.
No the deflated balls likely did not effect the outcome of the game(s). However, did the deflated balls effect at least one play? Two? Ten?
If football is a game of inches, which it is. And if one single play can change the momentum in a game, which it can. This event is NOT insignificant.
Its probably a young guy about 20-25 years old.
Did you just call me old in some back handed sneekey way?
This discussion is becoming too funny.
It pretty much just has to from here on out. It would be too sad otherwise.
Because you are carrying the game balls to the field? And I'm guessing we are talking about someone that is somewhere between 20 and 30 years old?
just doesn't hold water. whooops!
I think they were deflated before he even got them. I think he just had to pee.
and well done ![]()
Why would you bring footballs into the bathroom?
Am I missing something here?
you are not allowed to let them out of your sight.
Why wouldnt the attendant just take a squirt before entering the officials room beforehand, then grab the balls and do It after leaving the room? Did the urge just suddenly hit him?
As a member of the small bladder crew yeah. Some times you are fine and then all of a sudden ya gotta go. maybe not real bad but why bother waiting?
I also find it ironic that this has turned into such a pissing contest between the Pats and the NFL.
Well done. ![]()
Ball boy couldn't let the balls out of his sight so he took them in with him. That's my guess at the defense of the video (and probably a good one). Was there anyone else in the room at the time that would make this unnecessary?
That is a good point.
I mean maybe, MAYBE, he had too pee. Stranger things have happened.
I guess you could pee and wash your hands in a minute and a half.
Unless he didnt wash his hands......
Now there is some crazy conspiracy material. Did the ball boy wash his hands?
Did he rub his germ infested hands on the footballs?
This just gets deeper and deeper.
Jacoby certainly didnt do terrible this year, but not what we all have gotten used to.
A Person of interest has been rumored to be in the sights of the nfl ...... some one on the equipment management team ........ wonder if it is bradys assistant ... some qbs like brady only have 1 person working with their gear ...........
The kid is getting big bucks to take the fall and claim Indy payed him to make the pats look bad. [/speculation]
One of Head Smart Labs contact numbers has an area code from north eastern MassachusettsI think it was called HeadSmart Labs or something, not sure
I can no longer take this thread seriously now that a rational adult has said "the patriots are the victims "
and it was not followed by a smiley face or a LOL.
