when he wasn't hurt and riding the bench which was allot . nothing to do with sentiment everything to do with need and we need a sure handed reciever who can make plays . there are ways . there are tons of dead weight on this team you know the guys we are waiting to remember we pay them to play football .
Id rather cut Leach, but thats about it. Ellerbe didn't ride the bench, you clearly dont pay attention.
Ellerbe is injury prone (so far) and has only one good season under his belt. There are no guarantees he will continue to perform at last season's level. It could have very well been just one good season. We've seen it before. I would like to keep Ellerbe, but I don't want to overpay for him.
As for Boldin, 2 years extension to lower this year's cap hit, guarantee him his full $7 mil so it would leave us with $3.5 dead money if he only plays for one more year. Not the best of things, but not too terrible either. Boldin is a great locker room guy, great tough WR, but he IS on the downside of his career. We can't sacrifice the future because we'd all love to keep him around.
Extension would be ideal, but he is making too much money right now. If he doesnt want to take less or play after his current contract, a cut seems inevitable.
in your opinion its shortsighted . in my opinion i would rather pay a productive playmaker then a guy who gets injured allot and may ride the bench half the season. joe needs people to throw to that can actually catch torrey is not good at getting seperation when he does he's good . pitta has good hands boldin has better hands and he is a physical reciever.
Boldin is almost never open...that is a problem. You are clearly undervaluing how much Ellerbe meant to our defense last year. He was really our only consistent playmaker out there. I acknowledge the injuries are a concern, but he is young and improving. He is a priority to the FO and I am glad they have more foresight than most fans.
Then I don't see why we are asking him to take a pay cut. We have the cap to pay him the $6 million that he is worth, unless they are planning something big in free agency. $6 million would be saved by cutting him so something tells me they want to do a big move and that is the only reason they are asking him to take a pay cut or be released.
We will have roughly 2M in cap after tendering RFAs and ERFAs. That is not much wiggle room. I think they can manage Ellerbe either way, but that doesnt leave room for Ed Reed.
had it not been for boldin the ravens would have been one and done in the playoffs . then there's this who will take his place ok let's use doss who can only catch two balls in a season let alone make touchdowns in clutch moments. or david reed ,,,,,,,,don't get me started , we have recievers that can't catch period cut them and pay boldin.
We arent talking about a one year investment here. Boldin's contract is up after this year. He is likely to retire. If he wanted to play longer they could do an extension, but that doesnt seem like an option. You would rather have 1 year of Boldin than 5 years of Ellerbe? Thats incredibly shortsighted.
anquan boldin is not now nor has he ever been a benchrider and he is worth every single penny of the 7 million we don't have another reciever with his hands on the team .
He's also the slowest WR in the NFL...how many TDs did he score last regular season?
Ellerbe was probably our defensive MVP last year. He is young and getting better, not a player you let walk to retain an overpaid vet. I' m glad the FO doesnt hire/fire because of sentiment.
He wont be retiring. He has too high of a demand.
No one is going to pay him 7M a year...so if he doesnt want to retire why wont he just take a pay-cut? It doesnt sound like he is that interested in playing any longer.
Just saw this show Buckwild last night on MTV. It's basically Jersey Shore set in West Virginia with a bunch of rednecks. Needless to say, hilarity ensued.
Bye bye Rainey. Good luck finding another job in the NFL.
Pitt's 2012 draft class looking pretty bad right now. What's funny is right after the draft everyone was in love with it and everyone thought the Ravens draft was just average. Well looks like we had one of the best drafts in a while and Pitt just looks worse and worse.
The award for the first off-season arrest goes to the Pittsburgh Steelers!
Steelers RB Chris Rainey was arrested this morning on one account of simple battery. Apparently Rainey and his girlfriend were arguing over.... a cell phone? Yes apparently an argument over a cell phone led to Rainey pulling her out of the car and slapping her across her face with an open hand.
Pittsburgh Steelers...always classy.
Everyone says the Heath Ledger Batman was the best but I think it was the least of the three with the new one being my new favorite.
The only downside I felt to the newest movie was a little lag in the middle, and Bane's voice was just a little off.
I thought the new one was slow and unimaginative. Also the Joker was such an amazing bad guy which is a big reason why the Dark Knight was my favorite of the three.
Watched Kevin Smith's series of films (Clerks I & II, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back) over the weekend. Great flicks.
Which was your favorite? I really like the original clerks and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.
I still love Gold Rush: It gives me a BREAK from reality.
Glory Hole?
Archer
Walking Dead
Sons of Anarchy
American Horror Story
Mad Men
South Park
Parks & Rec
Happy Endings
Modern Family
Big Bang Theory
Justified
Game of Thrones

This is really a great time for TV shows. Lots of great content. Dramas, horror, comedies.
I finally got around to watching Moonrise Kingdom and it was fantastic. Its not for everybody because Wes Anderson is just a quirky director, but I thought it was exceptional. Very funny and cute. Bruce Willis and Ed Norton were amazing.
All I can say is dude..patience.
Two years ago I strained my left front rotator cuff tendon and that took the better part of nine months to get back to right, even with my regiment of twice-daily rehab exercises. Now guaranteed a strained shoulder isn't the same as a dislocated one but I understand your frustration. Just don't try to rush back too soon and set yourself back. That is what I had the most trouble dealing with...the doing too much too soon.
Thanks for the info. I have been trying to take it slow, but I am not a really patient person haha. I've basically gotten range of motion back, but the strength is going to take a while I am sure. On a positive note I am able to run now without any problems.
Okay, so... I want/need a super strong core with like, crazy awesome flat abs. I got a nifty new scale (for free too, yay) that tells you your body fat and your muscle mass and all this other crazy stuff, and I think I'm pretty okay right now (around 17% body fat, about 38-39% muscle mass). However, I have this roll right at the base of my ribcage if I don't sit up completely straight. Which I rarely do. I'm working on it. But I also don't want anything hanging over my jeans at all.
How do you get rid of stomach fat? I eat a pretty high-carb diet, so that's probably not helping. I'm a vegetarian who doesn't eat eggs and is allergic to soy and nuts, so protein is a bit difficult. Good thing I enjoy peanut butter. And cheese. I also have a bajillionty food sensitivities which makes eating so much fun and I've had two abdominal surgeries, so I've got a bunch of scar tissue to work with here too. Be realistic here... what kind of hope do I have?
Ever done Yoga? I found that Yoga is a great way to strengthen you core because if you do it properly basically every form requires abdominals/core. Diet is also important.
Just saw the Campaign, funny and hilarious. Certainly recommend it for anyone who is old enough to see it.
Funny and hilarious? Thats high praise!
Not sure if this is the proper place to post this, but whatever.
I dislocated my shoulder recently and I was curious if anyone has had that injury and his any tips/information/experiences that could help out my rehab. I'm doing PT right now, but I feel like it's going to take forever to get back. It's a huge bummer because I'm supposed to be training for a half marathon and I cant do squat. Sooo frustrating.
Finally got around to seeing 21 Jump Street. It was absolutely hilarious. Also saw Ted last night and was thoroughly entertained. Lots of inapproriate humor, but that was exactly what I was hoping for.
City of God is a brilliant movie, i wasnt expecting much, butit was top draw. Has anyone seen the subtitled girl with dragon tatto? i hear its meant to be better than the US verison
Yeah I saw that version. I think its Swedish? It was good too. It was less produced which gave it a nice feel, but I like the new one as well.
All ya'll talking top movies and no mentions of Pulp Fiction? SMH!
Seriously though, I dont see how anyone can rank movies. There are so many good ones and for the most part they are all very different.
If I am making a list though here are some that would be on it: the aforementioned Pulp Fiction, Casino Royale, Gladiator, Inception, Pan's Labyrinth, Anchorman, The Big Lebowski, American History X, Fight Club, The Departed, Dark Knight, Scarface, The Godfather, The Matrix (original), Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, The Shawshank Redemption, The Patriot, Silence of the Lambs, City of God, Memento, The Avengers, Inglourious [profanity deleted]s, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Finding Neverland, Braveheart, Pirates of the Caribbean, 25th Hour, Children of Men, Snatch....and the list goes on and on.
Pretty anticlimactic end to an entertaining tournament. With all the young talent that didn't go to the Euros, I can see Spain winning the Olympic tournament as well.
Spain is loaded. I think they will be favorites for the World Cup as well.
How about Torres winning the Golden Boot? lol

Well we also can't afford to pay him, funny that.
