Im just going with the logic here. We signed Steve Smith. We wastefully resigned Jacoby Jones (when we could have gotten Beckham for the same purpose). At best that puts Beckham in a timeshare for WR3. Even given the age of our receivers, I doubt Ozzie pulls the trigger there especially with his adversity to doing it for that position.

Maybe all the WRs we picked up are also a smoke screen. We look stacked now, but the truth is Jacoby is getting up there and I don't see Smith playing more than 2 years. We would be right back where we started. Ozzie could still easily go WR. These moves have just given him more flexibility.

@ sizzle, Ozzie isn't an idiot. He knows Smith is a short term fix, Jones is at best a #3. Look beyond the upcoming year. They didn't give either much guaranteed money so their stay here is not going to be a long one, and even with them we still lack a #1.

It doesn't matter when the article was written, the data hasn't changed that much in 3 seasons. The fact remains it was a good decision that went poorly. Sometimes that happens.
