  1. Care to retract your statement?
  2. I never belittled or made fun of anyone. Some of these comments make laugh is all.
  3. How do you quantify not very good? I'm not comparing Torrey to Doss...just stop.
  4. Not at all true, Doss didnt play because Cam used 2 WR sets like 70% of the time. When he used 3 WRs it was mostly Jacoby.
  5. It's not jumping to a conclusion. A lot of posts have been all doom and gloom if we lose our only "proven" WR. dont even pretend like it's not the case.
  6. People acting like out team is doomed if we let Boldin go is hilarious. I love him as a player and he is a great teammate and leader, but it's not the end of the world folks. Honestly, the team will be in a better position to win in the long-term if they let him go because it allows us to sign other players that are not at the end of their careers. We have made the playoffs 5 straight years and there has been a lot of turnover. It's not like Boldin has been the driving force behind the team's success. I get the sentimental attachment and the recency effect. We also saw Boldin ball out during the playoffs, but the fact is he makes way more than his value, and it's not like the Ravens are asking him to play for nothing. A 2M dollar paycut is exactly what Boldin should be making.
  7. I never said Doss was as good as Boldin, that would be a ridiculous comment. You are the one who said Doss is horrible which is also a ridiculous comment because he has probably seen a total of 200 snaps. He has shown the ability to get open downfield and make plays. He had some drops but they were far from easy catches, he is going to have a bigger role next season undoubtedly.
  8. They looked pretty good in the preseason, but they didnt get actual PT because Cam never used more than 3 WRs, and the only WR who got any meaningful snaps was Doss. No, he did not look horrible. He actually got open more frequently than boldin, but he was really underused because he was 4th on the depth chart.
  9. Well it's a risk you have to take. Let's not make Boldin out to be something he isnt. In three years he has never had a 1,000 yard season. He has had 14 TDs in 3 seasons. He has been overpayed for 3 seasons, and if he didnt go into beast mode during the playoffs this wouldnt even be a discussion. There are tangible reasons why the FO doesnt want to keep him at hsi current price. I'm not exaggerating when I said he was the slowest WR in the NFL. You watch the film and and he does not get separation from any CB worth his salt. He is physical and has incredibly strong hands which allows him to out-position defenders and make tough catches. The young guys have to be given a shot, to know what we have in them. Maybe we draft another WR too because after this season Boldin will be gone either way.
  10. Dont forget about Streeter and Thompson too. We have a lot of young WRs that have potential, but havent the consistent opportunity. Ozzie and co see these guys at practice where we cant. We wouldnt just cut Boldin if there was no one to play behind him.
  11. Yeah, I didnt really believe the whole retiring thing, but I doubt anyone overpays for him. He can still make plays and Cam was certainly part of the problem, but his physical skills have diminished too. He really struggles to gain separation.
  12. I assume it's possible, but if he does get extended it will be with the knowledge he will have a decreased role over the next couple years.
  13. Extension would still equal a paycut, which Boldin seems unwilling to accept.
  14. Well, we'll get to see if he actually retires. I can't believe anyone will pay him more than 5M on the open market.
  15. According to Aaron Wilson, Ravens asked Boldin to take a 2M pay cut. Pretty reasonable for a guy who has underperformed his contract for the majority of 3 seasons.
  16. Boldin is slow as molasses, no arguing about it. Doesn't mean he can't make tough catches, but every single one is contested because the dude cant get open. The question is who do the Ravens want Ed Reed or Q?
  17. We have about 10 ERFAs too.
  18. Do you even watch football?
  19. Im not. Unlike you, I can see more than 1 season ahead.
  20. Well we also can't afford to pay him, funny that.
  21. Id rather cut Leach, but thats about it. Ellerbe didn't ride the bench, you clearly dont pay attention.
  22. Extension would be ideal, but he is making too much money right now. If he doesnt want to take less or play after his current contract, a cut seems inevitable.
  23. Boldin is almost never open...that is a problem. You are clearly undervaluing how much Ellerbe meant to our defense last year. He was really our only consistent playmaker out there. I acknowledge the injuries are a concern, but he is young and improving. He is a priority to the FO and I am glad they have more foresight than most fans.
  24. We will have roughly 2M in cap after tendering RFAs and ERFAs. That is not much wiggle room. I think they can manage Ellerbe either way, but that doesnt leave room for Ed Reed.
  25. We arent talking about a one year investment here. Boldin's contract is up after this year. He is likely to retire. If he wanted to play longer they could do an extension, but that doesnt seem like an option. You would rather have 1 year of Boldin than 5 years of Ellerbe? Thats incredibly shortsighted.
