  1. He's a cross between Torrey Smith (bad hands/body catching) and DeSean Jackson (lean frame), but he might have better speed than either of them and he tracks the ball just as well as DeSean and completely blows Torrey out of the water when it comes to tracking. He's scored 30 TDs for the Irish and that's no fluke.
  2. I'd take Jack over Buckner, and I like Buckner a lot. I think the DL is already pretty stout and while DeForest is a decent pass-rusher he's not going to be dominant in the NFL imo. He just doesn't have the elite explosiveness. Jack just brings more playmaking ability and would take a major weakness into major strength. We got killed this past year because we couldn't cover the middle of the field.
  3. The offense needs speed and playmaking, outside of Corey Coleman, Fuller is the best option in this draft imo. He's going to drop some balls, but that doesn't make him a bad player. He's also torched some of the best DBs in the country.
  4. I like him, but I'm not overly fond of the "sluggish" type. I think he and Boyd both will be nice #2 WRs that can help a team immediately, but also have a somewhat limited upside.
  5. Personally, I have no interest in a undersized OLB who is a marginal pass-rusher. Play him inside where he makes the most impact. You can still have him rush the passer in blitz packages.
  6. Alexander by a nose. I think he's a better cover guy, and is more versatile in his coverage with better recovery speed. Hargreaves is extremely fluid and has great hips, but I'm worried about his lack of physicality. He also gets beat deep too often. My one concern is Alexander is he can struggle to find the ball, and has 0 INTS compared to 10 for Hargreaves. Ballskills and playmaking do matter, but I have not seen that he has brick hands either.
  7. He has top end speed, but by explosive I mean ability to accelerate on a dime, sudden movements etc. His ability to stop and start are reminiscent of Antonio Brown, and his top end speed is better than Brown's. The ability to separate and get YAC come naturally to him. What he doesn't offer at this point is route running savvy, but like I mentioned he shows a natural ability to separate so as he learns the NFL route tree he will become an elite weapon imo. Bottomline he is a playmaker with the ball in his hands. He can take a short pass all the way and he can beat you over the top. He needs to learn the in between, but with guys like Steve Smith, Aiken, Campanaro etc that's not what the offense needs right now. We need an explosive playmaker and no one in this draft fits that mold like Coleman.
  8. IF the Ravens had Smith #1 overall pre-injury, which by the way I don't believe for a second that they would disclose info like that, it makes me think more and more that Myles Jack could be the pick at #6. Watch them play there isn't that much difference. Smith is a little bigger and Jack a little more athletic/fluid. They have very similar skill sets.
  9. It's just really just one issue, and that issue is he wasn't asked to do it very often. He doesn't shy away from contact. He makes contested catches. He's easily the most explosive playmaker at the WR position in this draft. Is it a projection? Yes. On the flip side, he could easily be the best WR in this class by a wide margin given his special traits. I can't say the same about any other WR in this class.
  10. Patriots Cut: Marcus Cannon - OT (+3.5 stars) Aaron Dobson - WR (+1 star) Joe Vellano - DT (+.5 stars)
  11. anyone want an OT for cheap?
  12. This is so much wrong
  13. Jack is superior in coverage, but I agree that Smith is a better pass-rusher. I think for an ILB I'll take the coverage chops although both are important. I don't believe that Smith is going to be ready to start the season which is the biggest reason why he's not an option at #6 imo. He would honestly be completely out of my consideration in the first round.
  14. How about the other elite LB at #6? Myles Jack is a monster.
  15. It's kinda nice not needing pass-rushers for once.
  16. Calais Campbell is an obvious and apt comparison imo. He does a lot of the same things Campbell does.
  17. Spence for sure. I like Jaylon, but I don't think he will be playing next season after his unfortunate injury.
  18. There seems to be a notion that Ramsey can't play CB in the NFL. I couldn't disagree more. He has all the tools to be an excellent CB, and he shows impressive skills on tape. Great length, extremely athletic, physical at the LOS, recovery speed. My biggest concern is his ballskills, but the instincts for the position are on point. I have more questions about him as a FS than CB.
  19. 2014 vs Miami is a fantastic game from him. He's best as a playmaker in his sophomore campaign because he's mostly in the box or playing in the slot. He made plays in coverage, against the run, and as a Blitzer.
  20. Confirmed
  21. Patriots Trading Block: WR Danny Amendola (5 stars) OT Marcus Cannon (3.5 stars) OT Sebastian Vollmer (2 stars) WR Brandon Lafell (2.5 stars) LB Jonathan Freeny (1 star) SS Jordan Richards (.5 stars) WR Aaron Dobson (1 star) DT Ishmaa'ily Kitchen (.5 stars)
  22. Patriots cuts cont... Tyler Gaffney - RB (0 stars) AJ Derby - TE (.5 stars) Keavon Milton - TE (.5 stars) Total savings- 1 star
  23. Patriots Cuts: Darius Fleming- LB (0 stars) Geno Grissom - DE ( 0 stars) Eric Martin - LB ( 0 stars) Chris Barker - OG ( 0 stars) DeAndre Carter - WR ( 0 stars) Cedric Thompson - FS ( 0 stars) James Vaughters - LB ( 0 stars) Chris Harper - WR ( 0 stars)
  24. Okay, we have a difference of opinion in how to gauge effort. That's fine. He's about 1000x more athletic than Hageman. He's more athletic and has better size than Donald, but he isn't as refined as Donald either. I don't really have a great comp for him, Sheldon Richardson is probably the closest I can think of in terms of explosive movement skills.
  25. Agreed on all accounts. The real question is going to be how he does in interviews/workouts and if teams are willing to take a risk on him.
