Not to belabor the point to much, but this statement is incorrect. Nelson is actually quite the threat with the ball in his hands. In 2011 he average 6.3 YAC which was good enough for 13th best in the league. He dropped off a bit last season, which is likely due to a couple of injuries that held him back, but he still managed to average 5.4 YAC which was still in the upper half of the league. He really is a well-rounded receiver who is capable of making plays and stretching the field deep. He and Brown should complement each other very well. As for Brown, he has really just had limited opportunites. He played just over 300 snaps as a rookie and managed to make a nice impression. He was slated to be the focal point of the SD offense before breaking his foot. Now that he is fully healthy, he should once again become a primary receiver for Phillip Rivers as he can play all WR positions and is an excellent route runner.
