  1. Ed Reynolds or Terrence Brooks sometime tomorrow hopefully. We need to address the FS position. Im hoping our 3 picks tomorrow go FS, RB and WR. Any order. Preferably end up with Brooks/Reynolds, Terrance West and Allen Robinson. It would be magical if Marqise Lee found his way to us in the middle of the second round. Doubt it though.
  2. Right now at this point in time... if we can find a cheap veteran RT in free agency and maybe a cheap 1 year stop gap FS to plug in... I wouldn't mind at all to see us trade our 1st and 3rd this year, and a 2nd next year to move up for Sammy Watkins. I know this wont happen and Im going to get negged but its my opinion.
  3. Ebron in the first would make this offense absolutely lethal but we don't need him at this point. I would take Owen Daniels for a cheap deal in FA. We need a ballhawk safety and none are there in free agency because they are almost impossible to find. I can think of 4 or 5 in the NFL right now if that. Earl Thomas, Jairus Byrd, Eric Berry and Ed Reed to an extent though not so much anymore. Calvin Pryor to Baltimore please.
  4. Draft Pryor in the first and a RT in the second with Oher gone. No need to draft a WR now with Smith, Smith, Jones and Brown here for awhile together. Maybe a tight end in the third. One that can block and catch decently. Or sign Owen Daniels and take care of that problem right there. We still have around 10m in cap space not counting what we have to give to the draft picks so probably more like 7m.
  5. We got a faster version of Anquan Boldin back. I love it.
  6. Obviously everyone would take Nicks over Smith... the problem is the FO doesn't seem interested in Nicks. Probably will get too much of a big contract for us to afford at this point. And the 2 years of production COULD lead to another super bowl so don't discount it. That's all I am saying.
  7. Hey friend... Clark played well considering he was signed for the vet minimum and was a band aid because we were screwed when Pitta when down. And read what I said before you speak. I said Stokely would have been a good signing but no one could predict he would get hurt. And cool if Smith comes to play the slot, Marlon is on the outside. Who cares? They are all on the field at the same time. I think you're the one who needs to WAKE UP SON!!!! because you sound like a Steeler fan right now. When Steve Smith balls out for us this year you will see. That's all I am saying. 2 years removed from 80 catches and 1400 yards. Half of that production plus his leadership and passion and he is a hell of a pick up.
  8. Thank JESUS someone said it. People are acting like Steve Smith is 45 years old. He is 2 years removed from 80 catches 1400 yards, still tough as hell, fiery as hell, has a lot of passion and would probably be up there speed wise with Jacoby Jones still at the age of 34.
  9. I think you are the one who needs to wake up because Dallas Clark played well last year outside of a few drops while Pitta was gone. I don't understand why Deion Sanders was brought into this discussion and Stokely was a good signing for the price. No one could predict him getting hurt. That being said, I see you complaining how Marlon Brown will some how be phased out of the offense if Steve signs here as if there is no such thing as 3 and 4 WR sets. And who ever said Steve Smith would take Marlon Browns spot as the #2 receiver.
  10. 1. First of all what offense in todays NFL doesn't run through 3 WRs? You're acting like Marlon Brown is never going to see the field at the same time as Torrey Smith and Steve if he were to sign here. 2. You're jumping to the conclusion that Steve Smith would be the #2 wideout and not Marlon Brown... which like you said... is a pure "guess". 3. "Marlon hasn't proved he can play" - Then what do you call 600 yards and 7 TDs? I am not saying he will be a 100 catch, 1000 yard 10 TD perennial all pro player. But he has proven he can play with little experience and a very slim chance to make the roster. If they didn't think highly of him he wouldn't have made it past training camp last year. 4. Even if he stays as a 600 yard 5 TD catch guy for the rest of his career, that's a hell of a lot more productive than the #2 WR's we have had in our history outside of what Torrey Smith did his first 2 years.
  11. You're exactly the kind of fan that complains now but when he finishes the season with 700 yards and 5 or more TDs you pretend like you approved the move all along.
  12. What are you even talking about who are these 2 people you speak of? Steve Smith and who? Another rookie WR? You really think we would draft a WR high if Steve Smith is signed? No. It would be Torrey and Steve on the outsides with Marlon in the slot. Period. You keep talking about Mellette like he has proven something and deserves to be handed a spot on the roster. And you keep putting Mellette and Browns name together like Marlon didn't have a 600 yard and 7 TD rookie year. You are acting like he has to prove he can play. We already know he can and he will only get better. He dropped 2 or 3 potential TD's last year so he could have had around 10. And he also missed a few games with the hamstring injury. Not to mention our offense completely sucked and he and Torrey were the lone bright spots at skill positions.
  13. They probably think about Marlon Brown as "Jesus, we signed this guy as an undrafted free agent and he score 7 TDs and had 600 yards on one of the worst offenses in the NFL. We love him".
  14. Key word there is "Former" my man. Veteran WRs are a great thing especially if they can play the slot. Look at what we did with Derrick Mason.
  15. If we sign Steve Smith we don't have to draft a WR early with Jacoby being back. Means we can go FS in the first round and RT in the second round and MLB in the 3rd if Daryl isn't back... which I think he will be. I am still hoping we some how get Mack from Cleveland
