  1. I like Jack as a player, but I don't see him as a fit for this team unless we're switching to a 4-3 (specifically a Tampa 2). I think using him in a 3-4 would be a waste of his talents, and with the rest of the personnel we have it probably wouldn't make a lot of sense. Personally I'm pulling for Ramsey, Bosa, or Buckner.
  2. Been thinking about this pretty much all season. I actually think it's quite doable all with the addition of a few players. I think it's definitely possible that Mosely could play an Outside Linebacker (strong side) role, and I think 1 of either Orr or Arthur Brown would play weakside. If not, finding a weakside linebacker is probably the the easiest to find in the draft. I think at this point in his career, Suggs might actually be better off in a 4-3 role because his two strong-suits are rushing the passer and stopping the run... we haven't seen him drop into coverage much at all in the last few years. It could also mean slightly less double teams for Suggs having 1 extra man on the line. Dumervil has already played in a 4-3 in his career so I don't think that's really a question. If Bosa is the best player available when we're on the board, we take him and start the switch to a 4-3.
  3. Super underrated is how amazing Darren Waller has been on Special Teams so far. He's been very close to blocking several punts and has been fantastic as a gunner on punts.
  4. LaMichael James was just waived by the Dolphins, per Bleacher Report. I think he's probably a far superior ST option to anyone else we have on the roster, and could also be a weapon on offense. He's definitely struggled so far in his career, but I think he might be worth a shot to boost our ST play and keep Steve Smith away from punt returns. Thoughts?
  5. For Clarity Monroe and Perriman didn't practice Forsett and Melvin were limited Jernigan and Taliaferro practiced fully
  6. Perriman injured his knee on July 30th, not the beginning of July. The 6 week mark would be this Thursday, September 10th. I would guess based on the 6-8 week recovery period that Perriman will likely start practicing or taking part in individual drills next week with the goal of getting him back in shape and up to speed before the Bengals home opener. That would be just over 8 weeks after the injury, and would hopefully give him some time to knock the rust off before we play in Pittsburgh.
  7. I don't think he's been released from the Cardinals?
  8. What time can a team use the IR/DTR tag on a player? I'll be interested to see if Urban gets that tag or if they just keep him inactive for the first 4-6 weeks of the season so he can play as soon as he's ready.
  9. Another option for KR/PR is Jeremy Ross, who handled those duties for the Lions for the past 2 years. He also was decently productive as a 4th WR for the Lions last year. It's unlikely that we'll sign a 7th WR to the roster, but he'd probably be an upgrade over what we have currently.
  10. October seems off, considering the 6 week mark is coming up in a few days and the 8 week mark would be September 24th. I imagine he'll probably start running this week, take a week or so to get back into shape and have a realistic shot at playing week 2/3.
  11. It's possible Butler gets picked up, but he didn't really do well enough on ST or really stand out enough on offense to make me worried. I think he'll clear waivers since it's unlikely a team will pick up a project WR that doesn't play ST well.
  12. I don't think I've ever seen a 6'5" kick returner lol. I imagine he's not fast or quick enough.
  13. Just saw the TJ Ward suspension as well. That certainly weakens their secondary quite a bit.
  14. If he didn't practice all week I'd assume he's not playing. They may have just wanted to see what happened in this game before deciding what to do with him (IR, release, waived/injured, etc.).
  15. I think there's pretty much 6 locks at this point... Smith, Perriman, Aiken, Campanero, Brown and Waller. Daniel Brown and Tom Nelson seem like PS candidates (although I'm not sure if Nelson is technically eligible for the PS). They'll try to get Butler on the PS if they don't keep 7 WR's on the roster. I think Butler is probably going to play A LOT tomorrow to see if he shows up or not.
  16. I think McClellan's spot is possibly the most on the line out of the 3 of them. Orr has far more upside and they may want to give Brown 1 more year to make some plays and prove himself. McClellan is a limited athlete who really only excels at special teams. I'd personally rather give a spot to Brown over McClellan because I think players like McClellan can be found on waivers throughout the season.
  17. As further proof, Ray Lewis had a very similar injury in 2012 when we put him on the IR-DR list. He suffered the injury and was back playing 11 weeks later, even though it was with a brace. Urban is 24 and Lewis was 37. Based on the fact that Urban is younger, I don't find it impossible that he could be working out and even practicing 10 weeks after the injury occurred.
  18. It could potentially work, but like GrimCoconut and JoeyFlex said, it can't be that only comes in for one specific thing. I think the wisest thing to do would be to have him use the inside blitz 30% of the time, with the rest of the time just covering a RB/FB in man coverage. This way the game isn't complicated and he doesn't have to think about more than one thing at a time. It's either "get the RB" or "get the QB." From what I've noticed, his flaws come from zone coverage and when he doesn't stick to his gap in run defense.
  19. Well the injury occurred about 4 weeks ago, and I believe they said it was a 12 week injury. If he's 1-2 weeks ahead of schedule he could be back practicing in 6 weeks.
  20. Feeling hopeful about the fact that Urban wasn't placed on IR. Could mean he's either less than 6 weeks away and they think it would be good to get a fresh pass rusher back by mid-season.
  21. Highly unlikely, although he's definitely a PS candidate.
  22. That was my guess as well.
  23. Aaron Wilson ‏@AaronWilson_NFL 13m13 minutes ago One day after leaving the game with right knee injury, source says Ravens defensive lineman Timmy Jernigan should be OK, not long-term inj.
  24. People have to remember that we're down to our 4th string LT (Monroe, Hurst, Jensen and Reid), and 3rd/4th string along other positions on the OL. I think there's a couple of 2nd stringers on the Redskins still playing as well.
  25. I would imagine Tucker, Yanda and probably Upshaw will be back. Osemele is a wait-and-see, but most likely he's going somewhere else for the big bucks.
