  1. We have a "family" cat that lives at my mom's house with her and her husband. I go to see her about once a week. At which point I'm the one who has to sit on her to clip her nails.

I'll have a cat again when I can go live somewhere that allows pets. I can't even have a hamster...

    Smuggle one in! Yolo ;)

  2. Hesher was interesting but i kind of felt like i was left waiting for something. I like the meaning of the movie and watching hesher struggle through with his emotions, then finally opens up. Good depiction of a closed off, shutdown disturbed person.

I like all types of movies and can appreciate any type...just have to know what your looking for in the movie. Obviously if im wanting a shoot em up kill fest, im not going to pop in schindlers list. Just because i like movie A, doesnt mean i wont like movie B.

My movie tastes are pretty eclectic too. I mostly watch historical/political movies, but I appreciate good action and adventure movies (James, Bond, LOTR).

  3. You have somebody talking about John Carter and Hesher and you recommend Birth of a Nation?

You have to love the art of film and film history to enjoy Birth. Not something you pop in for a enjoyable flick. Great movie though but not for everyone.

You ever see Faust? Amazing cinematography with a crazy budget for the times.

Obviously, it's a very controversial movie; it triggered riots and mass protests. However, it's very culturally and historically significant. Anyway, uscmcharles said he'd give it a watch.

  4. So i just watched john carter, i actually found it pretty interesting, very cool concept.

So as i just sat down to watch Hesher, i was wondering if you guy have any new movies to reccomend. It took me 10 minutes of searching through about 500 movies to pick one out. Any type of movies really; gangster, adventure, some sci fi but nothing to crazy ( not a fan of star trek or star wars) so throw some ideas out there guys

Watch Birth of a Nation. It's Hollywood's 1st blockbuster; a master of cinematography. I love the moral ambiguity. It's very important for our times, in light of the election.

  5. What's your favorite 80's movie from when you were a kid? I think mine was Willow. For my 8th birthday party my parents took all my friends to see it. But the 'Neverending Story' was also epic. Labyrinth, Pee-Wee, Howard the Duck, Weird Science, the list goes on......

Is the Mighty Ducks an '80s movie? Anyway, I loved it.
