Flacco actually improved under Kubiak's offense. Flacco does deserve some blame though but it's partly that Trestman, Caldwell and Cam were not effective OCs.

Dejavú! Not only did Oakland and Carr beat us in similar fashion last year but this is the first game this season that resembles Ravens games from 2012-2015 seasons... Let's see: offense can't get going until 2nd half; defense keeps the game close but gives up a TD late in the game when we need a stop; stupid or conservative offensive playcalling; and bad coaching decisions. I was so hoping to prove all the Ravens haters wrong who thought we'd be exposed today and get our first "L". Instead, I'm having flashbacks of previous years.

A few weeks ago when it was apparent we wouldn't make the playoffs, over on the NFL website a Squeelers fan had this to say: "I hope the Ravens start winning now that they won't make the playoffs so that they also won't get a high draft pick." The fan also said he didn't care if Cleveland got a high draft pick, just not the Ravens. Anybody but the Ravens! Well, I'm soooooo happy we were able to grant you your wish starting (ironically) in a game against "your Squeelers" with such big playoff implications on the line. I think next time that Steelers fan might want to keep his mouth shut about our Ravens at least until our two divisional games are in the books.

So we potentially get knocked out of the top 5 for draft picks... So what I say! This win is worth it on a couple of levels. This is what being a loyal fan is all about. TAKE THAT SNOOP DOG!!!

Valid points... although I'm pretty sure the Pats went to the playoffs more times than any other team in that span between our two SB wins. We might be 2nd or 3rd but we have not gone the most.

Harbs is definitely in denial and I've pointed this out before. Until now, he's never had a losing season or has had to deal with this much catastrophe on all levels (significant injuries, losing your durable starting QB, horrible refs, players committing numerous stupid penalties, you name it) . It's like he doesn't know what to do. As for going for it on 4th and 9 in our own red zone, it was pretty stupid and unnecessary given the score and point in the game. But I guess Harbs said to himself, "What the heck? The season is over I might as well try something stupid on special teams." The worst part is there are fans on here that are defending that decision. SMH Anyways, I think the whole organization has lost its way since the SB and since losing legendary players like Ray Ray and Ed Reed. Part of the problem is the Ravens often can't get anything going with the run game early on. I've seen several times in a game where opposing defensive players are getting into the backfield to stop run plays before Flacco could even hand the ball off dag on near... Another thing is our offensive rarely seems to get going until the 2nd half. Our defense usually does a good job with keeping opposing offenses from running away with the game early on, but by the time our offense gets going the D loses steam and so we have to constantly play from behind. When you're in a play from behind situation all the time, it usually dictates a lot of passing to gain greater yards vs. trying to run when we've had little success at it in the first place.

I disagree. If this is the case then all 32 teams can just fire everyone in their coaching staff right now and both the NFL and individuals teams can also get rid of their rules and fines for inappropriate behavior - as they should be able to trust that grown men with millions will always do the right thing... In the real world, it just doesn't work that way. Adults sometimes need motivation and discipline just like teens and children do, especially grown millionaires. You have to remember that most of these NFL players are still young adults (not fully matured) who've come in to extreme fame and fortune almost overnight. It's a lot to handle for a young adult. A strong coach can absolutely help keep such players focused and disciplined. For example: All season long, I've been hearing other fans on this site say that this team lacks leadership and would benefit from retired players like Ray Lewis and Ed Reed coming back to coach in some capacity. And you know what? They are right.

I'm just tired of hearing players own up to mistakes and dumb penalties AFTER these games. Just do your job during the game please! That's all...

OK, we were 4-9 coming in to the game and had nothing to play for so people like you give Harbs a pass on probably one of the dumbest decisions a coach can make... Fine. But there's no way in heaven you'd be singing the same praise if we were still in contention. Going for it on 4th and 9 deep in your own territory in the 1st quarter when it's only a 1 possession game is foolish (we basically gift-wrapped 6 points with that call), and there's no justification for it to happen, EVER!!!

Don't tell me what the heck I'm thinking. I stand by what I said. Flacco has made some boneheaded interceptions, no, just boneheaded throws period this year... And "all" his fault or not, he's had way too many picks this year. 12 to be exact - compared to 14 TDs in 10 games. Please tell me what can be valid in that interception record? It's a pattern that can't be blamed on anyone else. Heck, Flacco himself admitted a few weeks back that he needed to stop making stupid decisions. Guess you weren't watching that week... No matter, because all season long Flacco was throwing off his back foot. (Even an elementary school kid playing flag football knows better.) Guess you'd like to blame that too on someone other than the QB you idolize. But keep your blinders on and have a nice day (or night).

You have a valid point, but the fact of the matter is we were still robbed of 7 points... PERIOD. Not to mention, since our defense had Miami's number, I hardly think we'd have lost by 20 points (well, unless Schaub threw 3 more picks).

Yea we have our problems but you ever think that maybe the reason we haven't dominated some of these games is because the refs are flag happy throughout the game when it comes to the Ravens? For example, that OPI that whipped out Daniel Brown's TD in the first qt against Miami? Those are points that were robbed from us early on in the game. Not getting them has a huge affect on the way the rest of the game is played and ultimately, the outcome of the game itself.

At this point I don't care if they own up to it. They know they are purposely sabotaging the Ravens season, and when they come and "own up to it" the next day or so later, to me, it really just equates to the NFL throwing it in our faces that they hate our team and are purposely keeping us out of the postseason...

You remember how everyone was saying this offseason that the Ravens and Seahawks were likely to make the SB? I think we could easily have had a winning record and been even ahead of the Steelers by now if the refs hadn't been so blatantly biased against our team. It's like a sports analyst said a few weeks back, "the Ravens are the best bad team in NFL history." NFL execs saw that we could make another run, as well as everyone else, and came up with a plan to ensure it wouldn't happen - at all costs. We've really been disliked by the league for a while now, but this year it has been blatantly obvious, even to fans of other teams. For one thing, our division has one of the NFL's (and country's) fav teams (Steelers). And with everyone having such high expectations for the Steelers this year, it makes so much sense for the NFL to make the Steeler's road to the postseason a little easier by sabotaging at least one of the teams in this division that was crowded with post-season contenders. Guess which team that was?

My one thought: It's now evident to me that despite the late collapses and secondary issues, our defense is actually better than we originally thought. No matter the opponent, we've been in every game this season right up to the end. Now, while our special teams has literally won us just about all of our wins, our D has held opposing offenses to little to no points in the 1st half of just about all our games. If our offense wasn't plagued with slow starts and turnovers (under two separate veteran QBs no less), we'd probably be leading the pack for a wildcard spot right about now. So, since we have someone in at QB that isn't number 5, and the results are pretty much the same, I'm going to go out on a limb and credit the close games to the D and special teams.

At this time, I have no personal opinion about how Schaub compares to Flacco leading Raven's offense. It's too early!!! That said, let's keep it real here - please do not sit up here and actually pretend that some of Flacco's interceptions this year were not the result of some truly bone-headed, dumb, yes DUMB decisions he made, because some were.. (I can point them out if you'd like, but is that really necessary?) And Flacco has certainly racked up his fair share of interceptions lately himself. (Neg vote all you want but the truth can't be neg voted: check the stats.) So much so, that I've actually started to "sit and wonder" when they will come. And while sometimes an interception is truly not the QB's fault, much of the excuses you gave for Flacco's picks were just that - excuses. When it comes to any turnover there are rarely any valid justifications...

Yeah, Flacco is tough, this is one area nobody can argue about - his durability. Seeing him not only get hurt today, but lost for the season (maybe longer) is surreal. (Even my cousin who's a bandwagon Steelers fan hit me up to express shock.) Ravens fans have been spoiled for so long - to not have to go through the back-up QB issues of other teams for the past 7 years - you'd almost think prior to today that Flacco was a superhero - incapable of being hurt. I sure wish we had Tyrod Taylor right about now, but oh well... Can't cry over spilled milk. I'll throw my support behind Schaub! Get well soon Flacco. GO RAVENS!

I've had criticism of Flacco in the past and he's struggled the last two seasons, but really, he's a good QB and the one constant thing we had going for us. Now, it's a whole new ball game without him and I have to say I don't feel too good right now. I'm physically sick.

I totally agree. I was only pointing out that if people on here, Raven's fans no less, can use these "what if" scenarios to say the Ravens should really be 0-7, then we can just as easily turn that around and say we should be 7-0, given how close all the loses have been. But I agree wholeheartedly - we are what our record says we are which, BTW, does include a win. No matter how we got there, a win is a win - and it wasn't handed to us by the zebras, either. I just wish Ravens fans would stop trying to concede the one win we got to Pittsburgh.

We should be 0-7? Hmmm, let's turn that around... We just as well should/could be 7-0 right now too or at least 4-3. In each game, it came down to the last play. One clutch play made "here" - one bad call NOT made "there", and we'd have won more of these games. But everyone (Ravens fans at that) keep defecating all over our only "win" simply because a Pittsburgh player messed up. Well, what about our players (and those refs) that messed up in the games we lost? The outcome could have been different had they not screwed up - or do these little "should have/could have" scenarios only work for giving away the only win that we got?

Man you nailed that - I thought I was the only one to felt this way. It's gotten to the point where on every play where we gain nice yardage or 1st down (when we finally get one), I'm biting my nails hoping and praying that no flag comes out. Because you just know if the flag flies it's going to be against our offense... Same feeling when the D is on the field. Listen, I know some of our players are making clear, idiot mistakes this season, but a lot of times, the refs are just simply too "flag happy" when it comes to our team.

Or maybe the Ravens are a 7-0 team with a 1-6 record... Every game we played in was winnable. Do you really think we'd be losing as many games as we have if we didn't have so many injuries ourselves this year? Every team at some point has key injured players whose lose is truly felt during games they miss, not just Pittsburgh. Can anybody say "T-Sizzle"? And who's to say we couldn't have beat Pittsburgh with Ben? Everyone thought the Cardinals and Cincy would totally destroy us, but they didn't. It was right down to the wire. And if you really think about it, it's the worse QBs that have fared the best against our defense. I'm also tired of hearing about how we would have lost if the Steelers kicker hadn't missed. Yea? Well let's turn that around - maybe we would have won some of these games if we had receivers who could catch. Or maybe we'd have won some of our loses if we had players that didn't make bone-headed penalty-causing mistakes at critical times. What about a QB who doesn't throw off his back foot and miss wide open receivers? Anyway, you get the point. So, can we please just accept the dang on "win" we got and stop crapping all over it?

If I were a conspiracy theorist, I'd swear the NFL brass has it in for the black and purple this year...

Enough already! Can we please get credit for the one "W" we got? I mean really, people keep bringing up those missed field goals and it's really getting old. Kickers miss field goals people, it happens, especially in Ketchup Field. But with the way you guys keep talking about it you'd think Scobee's misses were some sort of rare astronomical anomaly. Hell, by your logic, we really should have won that game against Cleveland if Tucker hadn't missed his field goal; maybe even won the game in SanFran just the same... Give credit to where it's due. Our defense might suck and make bad to average QBs look elite but fact is, they did enough during that Pittsburgh game to stop their offense and force them to kick... They missed, twice, and so we win. End of story! BTW, the Lions are 1-5 (like us), not 0-6.
