  1. And exactly who are we putting out there in Flacco's place? Schaub? No thanks! Flacco has digressed this year but at least in all our losses we were in it up to the end. Put Schaub in and we'll start getting blow out losses with no chance for a 4th quarter comeback.
  2. How did those great "three improvements to win" you named last week work out Harbs?
  3. OK, so now let's wake up to reality... Flacco might not be Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers but he's far better than most QBs out there. Plus he's an absolute ox. He NEVER gets hurt! BTW, if you think Flacco isn't any good, just imagine what this offense would look like with Matt Schaub in his place. I cringe everytime I think about it.
  4. Hmmm, I think Ozzie is more to blame for personnel missteps than Harbs is. And exactly what did either do to try and make this team more of an offensive threat? I have not seen any recent additions to the offense other than SSS that were impressive and maybe Perriman but he's unproven. And even with SSS we knew from the beginning he would only be a short-term solution for our receiver corp. If anything, it's the opposite, since the SB a least, our WR corp (and therefore offense) has been mostly gutted...
  5. You took the words right out of my mouth. When I saw the headline "Harbaugh Outlines 3 Changes To Win" I was excited and thought there'd be actual detailed "changes" about to take place to get us back in the "W" column. Unfortunately, it's more of the same meaningless post game rambling we get after every lose. Maybe I'm expecting too much. I'm even more disappointed that Harbs says no coaches are in danger of being fired. Great! So, basically they get a license to keep under-performing - Pees in particular. SMH. I hate to say it but maybe it "will" take a few more loses for this to sink in to Coach Harbaugh's brain. He's not use to losing like this so maybe he can't fully appreciate or process this losing season yet. On a side note: Just watched the Steelers-Chargers game and I'm even more pissed that Pittsburgh is able to win a clutch game with a washed-up backup against Rivers on the road, yet we can't seem to do it in 4 out of 5 games. What is going on?
  6. I wish people would stop saying this. I'd be just as impressed if we scored 6 points and won than if we scored 30+ points and won. 30 points is a lot but it doesn't guarantee a win as you can see. Twice this year it hasn't been enough for this team. It also wasn't enough in that divisional playoff game against NE that ended our season last year - nor our last game against San Diego. And apparently, it wasn't enough for Jacksonville this week either. In short, it doesn't matter how many points we score, 40, 30, or 10, it's about who can score the most at the end of the game. But if our defense can't stop a neighborhood flag football team in the 4th quarter or if our offense can't be clutch when it matters, then we will continue to have loses like this - no matter what we score.
  7. "I don't get worn down," Harbaugh said. "That will not happen. I will not get worn down, especially by injuries." Yeah? Give up the macho facade, Harbs! If you're not worn down by this mess of a team, you should be. Maybe that's why despite the obvious signs that this season has gone into the toilet, there doesn't seem to be any sense of urgency by this organization in getting things back on track.
  8. I agree that Ozzie's judgement with draft picks has been less than impressive lately (and that's putting it nicely) but he did try to address WR issues by getting Perriman first round this year... Who knew the kid would get hurt before even training camp and that his injury would sideline him this long? Not Ozzie's fault. I definitely was surprised though that he didn't address the CB problem. That said, my bigger issue with Ozzie is you let quality players like Boldin walk yet you sign Pitta to such a long and expensive contract (5-year $32 million) after a major hip injury? Seems a bit risky . These types of moves are just mind-boggling..
  9. Hey, while you're joking about SF, we have the same number of wins as they do. And with the way our secondary has been getting ate up this year by mediocre QBs, Kaepernick just might look like the 2nd coming of Joe Montana next week.
  10. We think somewhat alike. I think Ed and Ray Ray would be great for our defense no matter what positions they coach at. This team needs some serious leadership and motivation. I think it would go a long way even though we don't have much depth in the secondary right now and are hampered by heavy injuries. As for Harbs, he's not going anywhere this season, and probably still would have a job even if we have a losing record next year too (at least to the end of the season). I think we need to give Harbaugh a chance to right the ship. He's earned that much.
  11. Given our recent history (or luck) at draft picks, does a top 5 pick even matter? They'll still just muff it up as usual.
  12. This game is on the defense? No, really? Well, if this doesn't point of that Pees needs to go, nothing will. McCown gets 450 passing yards?!?!?! At this point it's not just bad luck or a slow start, this is a recurring problem with the defense falling apart in the 2nd half almost every game. Why is it that other teams can make effective adjustments but the Ravens just can't seem to do the same? It's not just a talent or depth issue.
  13. As much as I despise Schaub you can't blame him - blame the sports media! Flacco's trend of throwing interceptions started back in that playoff lose to the Pats. Up until that point Flacco was flawless in the post season, which was pretty much overlooked by everyone until the sports media started pointing out how great Flacco was during the playoffs. His post season record prior to the divisional round against the Pats: 13 touchdowns and zero interceptions in 166 passes with a QB rating of 95 or better. Some in the sports media even went as far as crowning Flacco Brady's replacement. Then what happened after everyone in the sports world jumped on the Flacco bandwagon? He proceeded to throw his first two interceptions in the same playoff game against NE - the latter of the two on a potentially game-winning (or tying) drive. Sounds familiar doesn't it? That's because Flacco's been doing the same thing practically in every game since. So blame the sports media, not Schaub - he has enough trying to account for his own doozies.
  14. Well, last night we did snap Antonio Brown's 35-game streak of 5 receptions and 50+ yards per game. Sooooooo, I say it's an even trade off. LOL
  15. While I will agree that we are in trouble due to the injuries and lack of depth at WR, I simply will not agree that Big Ben being on the field would have meant an automatic win for the Steelers. You just never know how these games will turn out. I for one thought after our defense made Derek Carr look like Tom Brady in week 2 that we were gonna be eaten alive for sure the following week by a much more lethal (regular season) Dalton and co. Thankfully, it wasn't the slaughterfest of our defense that I feared it would be - although Dalton and AJ Green eventually got the best of us (again) and won the game on an improbable long-range TD pass. That said, we were still right up there with Cincy to the end and could have won that game. In fact, all of our losses have been pretty close, and even Oakland is turning out to be a much better opponent than what we thought they were going in.
  16. I know right! Ray Ray was pretty pissed and is embarrassed watching these soft defenses, in particular he was pissed watching that Ravens game and seeing his once feared D get manhandled. He said hey, if the refs are gonna make the call anyway, give them a reason. Play like a Raven dang it! Embarrassing.
  17. As I said on another article, we can talk about how bad the defense has been all day long (especially during attempts to get a critical stop late in games); however, the offense is just as much at fault. Why does it seem our offense only comes to life after the 2nd half or only when we're down by double digits? The fact that we can consistently come back from these double digit deficits says we have the capability to score but we're being too conservative on offense to start games. This is the NFL. You can't keep showing up for only half the game and expect to win. Trestman, Flacco and company need to do a better job of sustaining drives and scoring throughout the game. This will no doubt take some pressure off the defense. I guarantee they'll have something left in the tank for those late stops. But what do you expect when the D has had to basically set up camp on the field during most of the game? Furthermore, the D wouldn't have to make a stop no how if we could actually win decisively for a change. And this pattern of slow starts has been going on since we won the SB; however, it's only now being exposed because key defensive (and offensive) players are gone. We have hardly any play-makers to compensate for the slow starts. SSS obviously can't do it by himself.
  18. OMG, I swear the times I actually get to see a Ravens game out here in Texas it seems that's when they have the worst games. So, like you, I've taken similar strategy over the past three weeks. The first game was broadcasted and I watched it in entirety. They lost. Yesterday, the Ravens game wasn't supposed to be on out here so I said maybe they'd win and I'd just get updates on the game/score as it flashed on the bottom of the screen every now and then. Except when the Steelers-Rams game got postponed what did CBS do? They switched to the Ravens-Bengals game right at the point where Ravens defensive penalties constantly extended the Bengals first scoring drive, which (btw) was capped-off with the usually excellent C.J. Mosley missing a tackle on Red for a rushing QB score... I immediately turned the TV off after that. LOL Maybe I was that other fan jinxing the team? Or could the loses and excessive penalties just be a result of bad coaching? Yeah, I think that's a more likely reality.
  19. You know, we talk about how horrible the defense has been in these last two games, but if the offense continues to not show up until the 2nd half or until we've fallen behind by double digits, then we will continue to lose. The defense has in fact kept us in games where we should have been blown out. Yes, the defense needs serious overhauling, and Pees needs to go, but the offense is just as much to blame. These loses are team loses.
  20. Seems like AJ Green, Red Rifle, and Cincy have had our number the past few years even more so than Pittsburgh. Looks like the guards have changed...
  21. Totally agree! You're the head coach, what do you mean they don't tell you anything? Bull!
  22. I've grown to care for the players, but frankly, I could care less about them feeling "bad" when they lose. Sure, most of them probably work hard in practice and during games and I respect/appreciate that. But when you're getting paid millions to get the job done, and you don't, you "should" feel bad... Imagine if we "average Joe's" constantly messed up on our 9-to-5? We'd get shown to the door... So, I don't take any pity on this team (the players nor the coaches). DO YOUR JOB!!!!
  23. BINGO! You can't let all your top talent walk and not replace them. Sooner or later it's going to show up with loses, as good individuals like Jacoby Jones and Bolden were those type of playmakers that can help win when the game is on the line. The falloff in quality players all started with that big $120 million they gave Flacco. And the fact that 36-year-old SSS is the only one raking up monster yards despite getting ready to retire is proof positive that Flacco (and this offense altogether) would be a lot better if we had one or two more playmakers in the receiving corp. Perriman needs to be every bit as good as they hope he'll be. If he can ever make it to the field. At this point he's scarily looking too injury-prone (a la RG3) before he even plays one pro game. SMH And as for the secondary, honestly, I'm not shocked we are still struggling here, as I didn't think Ozzie and company did no where near enough to improve this area.
