I'm starting to wonder if it's an issue with the coaching stafff.  Maybe it's the drills, maybe it's the pressure of making everyone compete for their job, I don't know.  But after so many injuries each and every year, the common denominator here isn't the players.

Well the team did change up the conditioning program this yr and in a sport with so much running and contact injuries are bound to happen.

As far as saying a reason for injuries is due to making people compete for their jobs I think it's a foolish statement. They shouldn't be half assing whether they're spot is handed to them or not so what's the alternative? Mental reps only?

  2. So I understand you. You're suggesting that has kindle panned out we would have re-signed him and then picked a different player instead of a young pass rusher this yr?

Again mcphee gave us the production we essentially wanted from kindle and we couldn't afford to re-sign him.

But saying we did keep a productive kindle then we don't have dumervil (imo) and still have an aged Suggs on the other side that still requires us to take a pass rusher to prepare for Suggs' departure.  So no I don't buy your pov about not getting a pass rusher in the second. Especially with a gm who feels you could never have enough pass rushers.

  3. Wait. How are we feeling the sting from kindle?

Was as it the 12-4 record in 2010 with the 16.9ppg allowed

was as it the 12-4 record in 2011 with the 16.6ppg allowed

Was it that pesky 2012 yr?

Or is it that you're suggesting we would have started to see him rise in 2013 and do better for the team than dumervil

mcphee in 2011 was probably as productive as we could have hoped for kindle to be in his second yr

Sucks to to see picks like kindle, Cody, Elam on the defensive side not work out but with the exception of Elam the other misses have been absorbed by production from later picks along the front 7

Side note  2005 was kinda disappointing with Clayton in the first and Cody in the second.  Ugh why did I look back that far :(

You know they won't though, I mean look at Pitta guy got a contract extension coming off a devastating hip injury. Gets re-injured.

    * I said back then they shouldn't have paid him because he only had 1 season with decent production and the injury combined unknown.

And yet they still drafted TEs. In other words they did plan ahead for his lack of involvement.

frankly i think the ravens FO are being the neanderthals here and I support every single tweet Eugene posted. I resonate with it and if the ravens don't well they are in the wrong. Cannabis is a life saving plant and what he's promoting is something the ravens SHOULD be endorsing.

No they should not if they haven't researched it themselves.

I have no problem with his cause, but calling out your team is never a good look

Yeah it's silly to think they should back a cause that they A) didn't research themselves. B.) goes against league policy at this time.

They did give him respect to say he's free to advocate what he wishes. That's as far as they're needed to go.

I'm not sure why Pitta is being ranked at all. I don't think he can be counted on to provide anything. He's trying to come back from a major injury. Anything he adds would be a bonus.

I expect all all coaches to be pushing Williams to step it up this year. To me he always seemed like he had too big of a head because he coukd get away on natural talent in college. Hopefully he realizes he has greater potential.

I definitely agree on pitta. No fault of his own he's just unreliable at this point because the injuries.

If maxx is getting in shape his speed will come. He ran well for somebody that showed up to mimicamp totally out of shape and being brought down very decisively by obscure cornerbacks. I hear he angered coaches being that out of shape and was embarrassed being taken down with authority by obscure cornerbacks and decided to work hard and begin a nutrition program. He acknowledged his eating habits were terrible and got by in college eating junk and not working and training very hard. However he plays with pride and I hear he looks far stronger and more athletic than he did at his rookie mimicamps. So give him a chance. He could be a lot better(faster) this time around.

    Agreed. http://m.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/What-Maxx-Williams-Learned-At-NFL-Rookie-Symposium/a71c3b24-4a03-426f-b9b6-011796fb5fa0

for TEs it was always expected to take a yr or two before they made a significant impact on the field.

  9. Somewhat middle ground for me. I'm concernrd about Monroe not being at OTAs because he hasn't had the best of seasons with the Ravens and I don't see how any of what he's doing is going to change that.

As for his campaigning I have no problem with players looking for a better way for their peers to cope with pain and life after football I also commend him on the fishing trip and putting time in helping vets (he did that recently as well as the Las Vegas convention so don't wanna act like he's only about medicinal mj) but I do think it has to come back to what helped him get into an influential position.

I I go back to when he was traded for and how he was happy because of family in the area and thought it was good having a guy who wants to be here. Now it does seem like he's not so much wanting to be there but already moving onto life after football

  10. I know what the topic is and I understand their draft philosophy. Your post is full of nonsense and has you complaining that they look ahead at who may price themselves out of the market. Yes Elam and brown didn't fulfill expectations yet many others exceeded.

*side note I specifically excluded brooks because I get the feeling you expect him to have had the career stats that one would attribute to elams draft slot.

Nevertheless it's humurous that people like to pick random selections and cite proof we can't draft but ignore the picks who do well because it doesn't fit the agenda they're trying to promote.

Oh come on, Harbaugh. Thick legged RBs pull muscles, has more to do with being stiff from too many bad workouts, than not working out enough. Ravens conditioning program has been very suspect over recent years. Need to train smarter, not harder.

    New conditioning program this yr

new trainer involved with the tram

and the issue with Trent comes off an offseason he was working on his home.

So yes the team realized the conditioning program needs to be revamped and no Richardsons current issues aren't because of ow the Ravens trained last yr

Further, we draft per our upcoming free agents. Mediocrely, I might say too!

What? So you're complaining that a team understands who will be priced out of range and that they plan ahead for that?

Nobody can produce at a high level if injured, but I think they might be more patient with him then other teams would.

Harbs said Camp has a tweaked calf he's dealing with now, so things are starting on the right foot for him. Hopefully it gets better.

Your post said they'd be patient because his injury issues. He'd have to show enough or they invest enough to wait it out.  It's not gonna happen if he can't stay healthy he'd get used less n less like amendola

Hate to say it but he'd be prefect in NE. That offense is fit for him and they'd probably have more patience with his injury history because they've dealt with it a ton with their other small shifty WRs.

Maybe NE might be willing to trade for him so the Ravens could get at least a 6 or 7th for him.

Not so sure he'd strive if he is injured. It's amendola all over

Billick had lost control, and respect in the locker room. I think that was the biggest issue and the reason there was such a quick turn around with the coaching change. Joe Flacco arriving also had a huge impact.

When I read the statement about billick losing control I think back to Bart Scott getting upset with fans for booing his bad performance in 2007.

I also think about the explanation given as to why Rex Ryan's wasn't named hc despite defensive players at the time thinking he would have been the best option.
