Ditto. Wondering if there's still thoughts of Stanley bumping down this yr too
2 hours ago, Edgar said:I will eventually let this go but Myles Jack is the type of player we've been searching for and we passed on him.
We'll see how it turns out but I the thought of him next to Mosley.....
Ramsey and jack are guys I'm anxious to see how their careers go. Ramsey's measureables were great but in a stat driven world he was lacking.
Myles is very versatile and I think he can produce at any lb position that said Ozzie and crew see Correa the same way
ftr the last ucla guy I wanted went to jax too and we ended up with a very good replica
So Mosley and Williams are given pro bowl players despite you saying we have no pro bowl players in the 2-3yr range. Oh btw this will be Williams 4th yr. so um strike 2.
At at some point im going to expect you to admit you're not a Ravens fan and simply just a casually nfl fan that hasn't figured out how to atleast Google basic stuff
Pro bowl. We ain't got no time for that!!
oh btw there's a guy named CJ Mosley who was a pro bowler as a rookie who is now entering his 3rd yr....
one other thing. Speaking about where the defense left off. I wonder if you know about the second half of last yr and the points allowed.

Didn't expect to still hear the tunsil vs Stanley debate since it looks like tunsil is struggling to win the guard job against a low rated guard.
A lot of articles pre draft talked about Stanley being a top tackle. Even on the Ravens site they talked about the fact that Baltimore could very well take the "boring" Stanley over Tunsil.
Having read a lot of that stuff it's no surprise to see someone claim Tunsil was better but can't say why they were told he was the exciting pick at LT so they believe it.
So. What's the point here? Is it that you should be having more discussions with your dr? Change primary care physician? Or an attempt to discuss nfl drug regimens?
Lol at using Monroe being cut as a reason to bash the front office/harbaugh. Yeah they chose to cut him instead of keeping a guy who ultimately retired and that's supposed to be a bad thing? Then have the audacity to Fuss about dead money that was gonna be there even in retirement... As for keeping him as a back up. Hell he missed so money games last yr he was the back up so now they have guys that are expected to be more durable and in case you didn't know durability leads to dependability
Balfan it's the kindle experience that makes me paranoid about our second rd picks especially when we have traded out of the first as we did with kindle and upshaw. That said I liked upshaw but he just wasn't the pass rusher we wanted/needed
Am I the only that feels that we can just dig up the old thread and save ourselves the time of typing out our views on his case all over again?
In regards to the CFL if teams questioned if rice was declining his last full yr in the nfl how the hell do you think teams will view him after 3 yrs in the CFL. Like was mentioned he'd be too old and forgotten to then go back as an nfl rb
31 minutes ago, JoeyFlex5 said:Torrey was a product of flacco and air-cameron/air-caldwell systems. I told everyone torrey was gonna fall off the face of the earth in SF because he can't produce if he has to work for the catch, he can rack up near pro bowl numbers with a qb who can take it deep and drop it right in the breadbasket with high arcing balls that he can just run run under. Torrey will never produce without a qb who can just throw 5 punts a game to him.
Yes we want a wr that fits our system and the yr in sf saw instability at the qb position and an out of their league coaching staff. Can't solely use that to knock Torrey and with the new staff Torrey will be in a system he can play in again.
Anyways this isn't a Torrey thread so I'll move on
7 minutes ago, flynismo said:I absolutely hated the Torrey pick, I was steaming mad when we took him. He went on to become one of my favorite Ravens ever, not because of his play, which was uneven at best, but because he is a wonderful human being,
But all in all, Torrey was a disappointment, which is why we wouldn't even pay him #2 money to stay.
He was offered #2 money. He was made an offer going into his last yr.

I'm the opposite. I think Torrey proved his worth especially as a 2nd rd pick. He was a guy wh initially struggled so we got Evans then he blew up vs the Rams. Considering our history at wr he excelled for a 2nd rd pick and his third yr was statistically his best. He had highs in receptions, yards and ypg. His final year he had a high of 11 tds . The only thing that disappointed me was him leaving
add to that a lot of posters seemed to favor Doss over him in camp that yr. So from my pov unless you expected Reggie waynesque numbers early on I don't see how Torrey failed to meet expectations to the point that he's the most disappointing Ravens player to anyone.

When asked if he thought that his stance on marijuana was the reason why the team let him go, all he said was "It didn't help". At first, I felt he said it to leave the impression that it at least played a role in the decision, but he went on to say he just wasn't there for the team enough ... "you can't make the club when you're in the tub".
I think in the end, with Mornoe's move to retire, it speaks to the basic reason why the team parted ways with him and that is because they didn't feel like he had the passion required to play the game. People questioned the club for putting their chips all in on Stanley and for, at a minimum, abandoning needed depth at the tackle position. All the critics could see was his potential to still be a good player, but none of that matters if his heart was no longer in it.
In the end, all we can do is respect his decision to live his life as he sees fit and wish him well.
If he's acknowledging Health as a reason he was on the outs then I respect him for not playing the mj card.

And to be honest, I don't like how we treated him through the process, I thought we bailed on him because of the video after we said we would stand by him and he was nothing but honest with our FO.
Partially agreed. Figured he'd get a camp invite but do to his last yr with us I understand why he doesn't.
Ezekiel will be cleared. Police already refused to arrest him based on evidence the ex was full of it...

He barely addresses the mounting questions, but you can see the little dictator thinking.......its not hard......he's thinking...thought bubble....."The Baltimore Pot Smoking Wife Beaters...What would the League think"
We'll see how Stanley fairs.
So full of crap but yeah why not paint a picture that harbaugh is so strong against marijuana that he cut Monroe over it.
Never mind that he isn't a gay marriage advocate but loved Ayanbadejo.
Nevermind that he was asked about political issues when both Birk and Ayanbadejo made their very public, very different remarks about same sex marriage. No let's ignore that to try and paint a negative picture because you have nothing of value to add
11 hours ago, Danny D said:I have to agree with you. Don't get me wrong, its not my thing, but the pain reduction issues you outlined I agree with.
I was not a fan of acquiring Monroe and also not a fan of releasing him at this time. It's the current decision making I want a divorce from. 20 years is a long time for a G.M. and 9 years Is a long time for a coach. We need new blood with youthful minds.
Seriously saying 9 yes is long enough for a coach lol. So what's the excuse regarding New England
58 minutes ago, Willbacker said:Its not only injuries but the man has other interests right now besides football that he's focused on. Football is too much like work.
Don't disagree but remember how he said he was focused and healthy a week before he was cut...
5 hours ago, FastEddie said:Welp thats all she wrote...I have a lot of respect for people like him when it boils down to things. He obviously respects his body and mind more than making millions to destroy them. Solid move Eugene.
Meh I'd respect it more if it wasn't preceded by him bad mouthing teams. He ultimately quits because of fear of injury and heart not being in it. Quite possibly what teams like Baltimore saw in him but yet he blamed it on activism.
Not sure how an undrafted player can actually been the most disappointing player we've ever had.
I will go with Arthur brown , Sergio and Dan Cody my top three.
Brown because he was picked high when we needed lb help and still doesn't see the field.
Sergio for obvious reasons
Dan Cody because he played in less games than kindle [profanity deleted] and he was also a second rd pick

If the number gets retired who else would we even have....
59 minutes ago, Kinda_Dante said:Or his agent? does he even have an agent anymore?
Nope. Last chance was rosenhaus who dumped him as well
5 hours ago, BOLDnPurPnBlacK said:And the best part is, its not a suggestion to sign him to be a QB... its for slot receiver, lol. That just gets me... the guy is terrible at the position hes played his whole life, but hes just magically going to turn into a slot receiver and be useful??
While we're at it, lets get Jamarcus Russell on the phone to play O-Line. I mean, he's big and was athletic so itll work. And the coaching staff is being silly by having Trent Richardson play RB while we have this hole at ILB... put him there - problem solved.
This is easy.... have a hole on your team? Take a raw talented player at another position who has flamed out of the league, bring him in to play at the position you have a hole even though he has no experience even if his skillset doesnt translate whatsoever and viola! Super Bowl here we come!!!
I used the position change item in Madden MUT and it worked wonders, so all our coaching staff has to do is use the real NFL position change item... makes sense, right?
Crap I didn't see that. I'm guessing someone saw that Browns trick play that was called back and thought it was clever as a routune play

Michael Phelps for one example, had his rough spots, but over time has clearly demonstrated his core values would not be dissuaded. Manziel within the Ravens framework could offer some unique core advantages, too. If not publicly, the Ravens could at least have a private session with Manziel to evaluate him fully.
Yeah phelps cleaned up some of the bad habits over time. You do realize that just a week ago manziel was still partaking in the same bad habits he got in trouble for in Cleveland.
There is no reason for Baltimore to have a conversation with a below average qb who is facing both jail time and suspension.

So if the have been looking at Jake for a long time and they drafted staley after they offered KO money to stay and play I'm thinking they were looking at replacing Monroe since season ended. But again you can ignore all the other stuff and act like Ozzie is new to the league
