Like i said in the other thread, i think the only thing we can do is move Joe into shotgun the entire game to give him time to see plays develope. i dont know of any other way to protect Joe from that rush
I agree. Also, that wont take away from the run game that much I beleive. Runs out of the gun are becoming more popular and more effective. We saw some runs from the Eagles out of the gun that really stretched the defense thin. If you get the run game going efficiently, your play action game can be just as strong.
its a shame we didn't pick up aldon smith who can set the edge as well as rush.
How dare you! I agree ... however, Aldon wanted to stay in the Bay Area b/c he recently started working with a life coach/mentor/trainer type guy out there and is doing well by all accounts.
We'll be counting on Upshaw to fill that starting role, I think he can handle it ... obviously won't make as many splash plays as Sizzle but will be serviceable. Z. Smith will need to step it up big time and give us that secondary pass rush rotation option. This sucks but we'll get through it I believe.
Flacco loves a big bodied target that can box out a defender. If Mad Maxx and Crockett stay consistent and gain trust and chemistry with Flacco, this pair will be a dominant force all year.
It's certainly possible we really "like our guys" at that position, lol.
This is what worries me the most really. I do like these guys, but there are too many question marks for my comfort. It would be such a shame for the CB depth to sink us this year after Ozzie said he'd never let that happen again ..
I would love to get Christine Michael from the Seahawks (maybe a 6th rounder?). Kid is a good talent but just hasn't gotten the playing time in Seattle, however you have seen flashes of his potential. Not to mention he's a solid pass blocker and a good size at 5'10/220.
Asa is a frustrating guy ... but I would be nervous cutting him cause that potential does flash and he's still young.
We barely won the Saints game and I don't care what anyone says about it being pre-season and that wins don't matter. We all play a game to win. I don't see a winning mentality out there and John Harbaugh showed me that he has lost control.
We all play a game to win, yes, but when its preseason and your starting QB plays one series in the Saints game, and barely into the 2nd Q against the Skins, you take those losses with a grain of salt ...
I agree with the intention of the post, I too would like to see Art Brown get some situational reps. Mosley/Smith are the unquestioned starters, but we'll never know what we have in Brown if he doesn't get game action. We need to find out cause Smith won't play forever ...
Why give him that much more than dez and demaryus?
Well, other than Matt Ryan the Falcons really have no one else to pay, and not a lot of big contracts on the roster ... so I doubt the negotiating process was as difficult as DT and Dez.
This seems like a typical camp cut that the Ravens would pounce on ... He's 31 but he can give us one good season, which is all we'd need out of him.
That would be a disaster... multiple offenses... No Way Ozzie does that... That's just craziness....
It would be a debate within the organization for sure, his talent his all world so you have to do your due diligence. He's had substance abuse issues ... no domestic violence.
An option would be to take a chance on Aldon Smith. We could give him a new role as a hybrid OLB/DE. Not sure about his suspension status but i don't think its for the full season or anything is it?
It hasn't been determined yet with regards to his guilt in his most recent arrest, so his suspension hasn't been given out yet. I would 100% take a chance on Aldon Smith though ...
We need Perriman on the field and healthy, we desperately need his speed on the outside. I'm fairly happy with all the other pass catchers, obviously Smitty looked like an animal. But I like our TE's a lot, and Aiken is a solid #3 option.
Don't worry.. There's nothing being kept in that mind outside of "how bad the Ravens are"
Ahaha, true .... I guess you've gotta like your team enough to hate them right?
not enjoying this offense.
outside of SSR..what on earth is going on?
nothing
Keep in mind that the Gillmore TD should have stood ...
Embarrassing refereeing ... That was a 1st down, and after that clearly 40 secs hadn't gone by. God, I hope this doesn't carry into the regular season.
Crockett Gillmore what a beast play ... That excites me, he looked like a freak on that play.
Robinson should have been ejected. He could have broken his neck
Thats so dangerous and unnecessary ... I fully expect a fine at the least, you can't do that to guys, that has the potential for a career ender.
I don't think RG actually had a concussion. They just wanted to make it easier for him to avoid more scrutiny. I would caution everyone calling their line complete garbage here. I'm not sure if Trent Williams is playing this game but that's a top LT. They also have two young guys getting their welcome to the NFL moment. They could easily turn things around. They're talented guys.
Williams is a top flight LT, and Sherff their top pick this year could be a beast as well. Neither of those guys were playing last game though, and he got buried. So yeah, they could turn it around.
Its tough to say with RG3 if he was concussed, who knows. The scrutiny is a big point you bring up though, he's under a ton of it. I believe his time is up in Washington, and both sides need to move on.
I've seen a lot of traits from Waller in this small sample size to make me believe he has a good chance to contribute. As long as he stays healthy and makes plays he may just be a player for us.
- Uses his size well to gain better positioning
- Has great body control and seems to be a very solid blocker
- He's shown great hands so far, catches the ball off his body nicely and can high point it which needs to be his trademark
- Doesn't have blazing speed (4.46 is not bad though) but he covers a lot ground
I'm surprised RG3 was cleared to play ... and I'd be even more surprised if they put him out there against our starters. That offensive line was so bad in their last game, Suggs and the boys may just end RG3's season.
This is great for both sides. The Ravens are showing faith in Hill, and I think thats a huge for him. When he was cut by the Giants not a lot of teams were interested, he knows that. Now you've got a player 100% in on what we're doing here, I'm excited to see him play this year.
I think it has more to do with them being young guys who probably haven't adopted proper diet and training habits. In Camp's case his body is probably still developing which contributes to nagging little injuries like he's had.
Both will be fine.
Thats exactly what it is. Look at guys like Steve Smith, Anquan Boldin who have gone through Harbaughs camps at their age and you don't hear anything about these injuries. It takes time to understand what you need to do off the field to stay fresh.

These trades happen in the offseason, rarely during the season. However it seems for the 5th year in a row Brandon Marshall got traded for scraps and is dominating, as usual. Sometimes I wish we'd value later picks less and make bold moves like this .. considering they got him for a 5th and we cut our 5th rounder. Anyways ... we're going to have to patiently wait for Perriman to get on the field and make a play.
