  1. Cant wait for Flacco and Smith Sr. to get to work w/ BP and mentor him, its going to be exciting watching BP develop.
  2. Terrific explanation, thank you. I do understand that a bit better now. However, I still maintain that punishing teams with a lower standard of proof such as "more likely than not" is a terrible way to do business. I will be curious to see the appeal, and what the independent hearings officer has to say.
  3. I guess I just don't believe in turning myself in when questioned, I find it bizarre. The idea is to make them prove you guilty, while you claim your innocence. The Patriots did that, they weren't found guilty Beyond a Reasonable Doubt, yet they still got punished. My main concern is the dangerous precedent this sets with league punishment, and how bad they've proven themselves at handling punishments already.
  4. " *the extent to which the club and relevant individuals co-operated with the investigation 1) the refusal by the club's attorneys to make Mr. McNally available for an additional interview 2) failure of Tom Brady to produce any electronic evidence (emails, texts, etc.) 3) significant that key witnesses —Brady, Jastremski, McNally — were not fully candid during the investigation." So the NFL by using they're rationale of "More probable than not" expect teams to incriminate themselves during investigations. I find this hilarious. The NFL has handled every incident this season in the poorest way. So without proving guilt "Beyond a reasonable doubt" they've suspended and potentially tarnished the reputation of one of the games greatest QB's.
  5. Campanaro showed that he could be trusted when he was on KR/PR's last season. That goes a long way w/ Harbs ... I'm not sure Camp has the big play potential, but he can hang on to the ball and be safe.
  6. Greatest Safety of All-Time, no question. Thanks for the memories Ed, and I think we'll forget about Houston and that god awful Jets uniform we saw him in.
  7. I wish people would avoid trying to compare BP to Torrey. Is it really necessary? Why not just support our 1st round WR and see how he pans out when he hits the field. A lot of people did the same complaining when we drafted Mosley last year, and look how that worked out. Seems Ozzie usually has a plan that surprises a few of us now and then.
  8. At least we know he can block coming out of GT. I kind of compare him to Kassim Osgood who has been a solid STer for years in the league. I like his upside with that size/speed combo.
  9. 100% ... What gets me the most excited is Flacco is at the point in his career to take this kid and build chemistry. Even when Torrey was drafted Flacco still wasn't the leader that he is now.
  10. Yet if the Eagles took him at 20 it would be the 'Pick of the Decade' ... 'Chip Kelly strikes again'. BP is going to be a monster under the tutelage of Smitty.
  11. On Twitter Smitty posted ... "@89SteveSmith: Congrats @B_Perriman11 welcome. Now its time to teach u how 2 #playlikearaven the sky is the limit 4 u!! #agent89" This gets me excited that we've finally drafted a 1st round WR and we have a guy like that to mentor him. Cant wait to see him suit up for us.
  12. I agree 100% ... I'd also like to add the caveat that he's a little bigger than Torrey at 6'2, which will be a nice improvement.
  13. Love Bennet as a player but I don't see why we would entertain the option of trading for him. I don't want to give up an asset like a 4th round pick, or take on that salary.
  14. I think we'll see Art challenge Smith for reps during training camp and begin to take over mid-season.
  15. I agree. I will be very interested to see if he gained some weight over the last year. Its ridiculous to think a guy we traded up for in the 2nd round not long ago isn't in the plans. Sometimes its a luxury to be able to develop a guy for a year or 2.
  16. Trestman will be a good OC for this team. One important factor to me w/ him is he has long term potential here. We were never going to have Kubiak for more than 2 years, thats just a fact. Trestman on the other hand tried out the HC gig and it didn't work, but he's a proven OC. I for one would like for Flacco to have the same OC for a couple years and see what happens.
  17. It would be nice if the media didn't obsess over the guy so much it almost buries him. He's trying to just get on the roster as maybe a 3rd QB at best ...
  18. Its crucial to keep both, imo. Having a dominant, consistent Offensive Line is critical to our success. We've seen the kind of success Flacco can have when he's protected, and how well the offense works when the run game gets going. Look at Brady's success throughout the years behind that line, and now Romo since he's been behind a dominant line.
  19. Never liked the even remote potential of us signing Crabtree, and this confirms it for me. He's been like that since day 1 when he held out on the 49ers after being drafted. If he was smart, he'd take a 1 year prove it deal like Maclin did somewhere with a QB.
  20. Or one misstep on the field, as it were. Gillmore looked pretty solid in a limited role last year, I like his potential. But to rely on him for 16 games as a #2? Yikes ...
  21. He definitely had deficiencies in coverage .. but he was still ok (better than Elam, but its not saying much). Still had a lot of value on the field though, just not a great locker room guy by all accounts.
  22. On the subject of Pollard, I think people are forgetting why The Ravens, Texans and Chiefs all cut him. His play on the field was never the issue ... its the cancer he brings to the locker room.
  23. If we're confident in Pitta coming back and Gillmore being a #2 TE, I'd have to say that is pretty unsettling.
  24. Not mad at the move at all, but if we did spend 3m of our cap on him I'm a little surprised.
  25. I agree. Which leads me to believe the organization is holding on to the hope that Dennis Pitta will return to the lineup. Otherwise, we have nothing proven at TE and let a solid vet in Daniels walk out the door.
